Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Choice Anyone who takes the time will see that lamb is futher down on the label and that chicken bi-product is first. That being said my German Shepherd had struggled with allergies for a long time, pretty much his whole life. He is only two now but after changing his food constantly looking for a food that would help him, I finally found a food that helped him. I tried every single "organic" or "holistic" food on the market. I tried a strict vegetarian diet and I tried a wet food diet. None of those options helped him. It got to the point that he was literally eating patches of his hair because he was itching himself so much. We tried this food because it was merely something different and in one week his redness and dry skin was clearing up and now after having him on it for three months I am still happy to say he has stopped itching and enjoys his food. I truly recommend giving this food a chance if your dog is struggling with allergies or if you are even just getting a dog. We often look down at products that don't have the highest quality of meats but when you think about it, if they were not domesticated they would be eating whatever they could find. So sometimes the other diets are merely too much nutrition for an animal to withstand. Even our own bodies can I take too much nutrients and have negative effects. This food is the perfect balance for my dog and I hope it is also the same for yours. April 8, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by This is not my first choice I ordered this because what I previously purchased had taken a huge jump in price. I could not longer afford to buy it. I have used Max for about a week now and my dog isn't really too excited about it. She does not eat it as well as she did the Harvest. However, since Harvest is prohibitive as the current price, Lucy, will have to make do with Max. January 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product; fast shipping! I ordered my dog food with Chewy.com for the very first time. My dog food can be hard to find, but they had it and shipped it pronto! The condition of the food and packaging was both excellent, and when my dogs are happy, I am happy ! November 16, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Made my dogs ill Both of our dogs were on Blue buffalo I made the change to nutro max to save a little money and still get a great dog food. We started byswitching both dogs over to the Nutro by mixing it with the BB and decreasing the BB to ease the tummy transition. Once they were on the Nutro max alone both started vomiting and had diarrhea. we put them on a bland boiled chicken and brown rice diet for a few days and problem solved. I looked up consumer reports and a lot of people wrote having same experience recently. August 14, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great dog food My dog has been on Nutro Max since he was a puppy. I go back and forth between the beef and the lamb and he loves them both. I would recommend this, it has omega 6 fatty acids and no corn or rye and it's made in the USA January 21, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by My Dog loves this food We switched over to Nutro Max after our dog had some digestive tract issues following her eating a tennis ball. After we finished her medication her stool would not go back to normal even with probiotics. Several weeks after switching to Nutro max her stool is back to normal and her coat is soft and shiny.
