Description

Limited ingredient diets for large breed dogs can help minimize food sensitivities, make digestion easier and ensure that your dog receives the natural nutrition they need. This Nutro Lamb & Rice Recipe Dog Food offers a premium taste your dog will enjoy while providing the necessary vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that are crucial for a healthy metabolism. Each bite is infused with optimal levels of omega-6 fatty acid (linoleic), zinc and B vitamins to guarantee a soft coat that shines. Plus, your adult large breed dog will enjoy the added benefit of naturally sourced glucosamine and chondroitin for strong joints and cartilage to keep them moving.

Key Benefits

  • Number-one ingredient is great-tasting grass-fed lamb, which delivers amino acids to build muscle and maintain a healthy metabolism. Give your dog all she needs to thrive and stay healthy.
  • By limiting the number of ingredients, this nutritionally complete formula helps promote optimal digestive health in dogs with sensitive stomachs.
  • Naturally sourced glucosamine and chondroitin, the nutritional building blocks of healthy cartilage, help maintain healthy joints. The right fiber balance from whole ingredients, such as brown rice and oatmeal, promotes an ideal digestive environment to help absorb available nutrients.
  • Made with absolutely no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. This is a high quality product that is produced in the manufacturer's own facilities to ensure safety and quality.
  • Nutro's dedicated team of experts tailor their formulas to your pet's life stage and health condition. They only use natural ingredients that they directly buy and can trace back to their suppliers.

  • Super picky pup loves this

    By on

My dog is extremely picky. Not just picky but he can smell something and decide "that's off". I started noticing him not liking his taste of the wild food but he at least would eat it eventually. He lost patches of hair and developed a skin issue. He's been on this food for about 2 weeks and he really likes it. His hairs are growing back and skin is looking better. It's going to take some time but I think this food is safer than TOTW.

  • Bad review

Our dog normally eats Nutro venison and sweet potatoes. He did not like this and would skip multiple meals because he disliked it so much. We mixed it with his regular food and he still would pick out the venison to eat and leave the lamb flavored kibble.

  • I keep coming back to Nutro.

I tried the grain-free, super premium band wagon. Too much protein, too much fat, too many calories for large, adult dogs. My Olde English Bulldogge was barely able to eat 2 cups a day of those kibbles because his weight would balloon. He was always hungry. With his severe chicken allergy, I was left with few choices. In over 20 years of owning 7 Dogue De Bordeaux (French Mastiffs), it was only Nutro Lamb and Rice that was super gentle on their sensitive stomachs and universally loved by all 7. So now my newest dog, the OEB, is 20 months old, diagnosed with moderate hip displaysia, and recovering from elbow dysplasia surgery. However, he has a medium activity level, not low - so the Nutro diet I tried the grain-free, super premium band wagon. Too much protein, too much fat, too many calories for large, adult dogs. So now my newest dog, the OEB, is 20 months old, diagnosed with moderate hip displaysia, and recovering from elbow dysplasia surgery. However, he has a medium activity level, not low - so the Nutro diet food (Healthy Weight formula) was too few calories for him. Although it's a really great diet food I recommend to owners of chubby pups. I'm relieved to have my new dog on this moderate calorie kibble with increased glucosamine and chondroitin levels, and slightly lower (healthier) fat and protein levels. Too much of a good thing, is a bad thing, as I found out. This large breed formula is made for the typical 50+ lbs, moderately active family dog who is at risk of joint degeneration simply due to aging and size. Well done, Nutro! It is less common to have highly active large breed dogs that need more calories, as I see some complain about in the reviews of this food. But Nutro has Regular Lamb and Rice, and other higher calorie kibble to answer their more unique needs. The only thing that made me stray away from Nutro and to the super premium grain free was the same reason I can only give this great food 4 out of 5 stars - for almost $50 a bag, I would have hoped Nutro would have added some probiotics and just a little bit more Omega 3's to this product rather than relying so heavily on less healthy Omega 6's to give your dog a shiny coat. But all in all, still a wonderful food that now my OEB is gobbling up and doing well on. … more

The product I know very well. We have two GSD with allergies. This product doesn't contain anything they are allergic to. The prompt two day delivery is very convenient.

  • Great Dog Food

    By on

My dog LOVES his new food. I could leave his prior food in the dish and it would sit all day. As soon as I put his new food down, he gobbles it up!

  • This is great food.

I have been feeding Nutro Lamb and Rice to my dogs for about 20 years. It is easily digestible, very nutritious and they like it. I found that the price from Chewy.com and their speedy delivery right to my front door to be quite desirable.

  • Great for dogs with sensitive stomach

We tried a couple different foods and the Nutro Wholesome Essentials has been a great success. Not only is our English Mastiff feeling good, he enjoys eating the food as well. I highly recommend this food

  • Happy Dogs

Service was swift and convenient. We live more than 100 miles from town [round trip] and shop for groceries once a month. Buying the dog food in town meant we would have to pack at least 6-8 bags of dog food which took up too much room in the car. [My sister has 3 dogs, and I have 4.] Having it delivered is FABULOUS!. Thank you!

  • Helped my dogs sensitive stomach

    By on

My boyfriend and I got a very large dog a couple months ago and he had a very sensitive stomach - I'm talking insane digestive issues. We bounced back and forth between a couple of brands to get a feel for what would help him, but we didn't really see much improvement until I got a couple for the Nutro brand dog food and decided to give it a go, and to our surprise, the stuff actually worked! It's relatively cheap food and our Momo seems much happier and healthier on it, A+ for Nutro
