Made with premium Australian and New Zealand lamb and whole brown rice, Nutro's limited ingredient diet recipe is a careful blend of proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals that promotes proper skeletal development. Plus, its naturally sourced glucosamine and chondroitin help to develop strong and healthy joints, and it has a delicious taste your large breed puppy will enjoy again and again.

Key Benefits

  • Great-tasting, real Australian and New Zealand lamb delivers the amino acids large breed puppies need to build muscles and maintain a healthy metabolism.
  • Naturally sourced glucosamine and chondroitin, the nutritional building blocks of healthy cartilage, which means healthy joints. The right fiber balance from whole ingredients, such as brown rice and oatmeal, promotes an ideal digestive environment to help absorb available nutrients
  • Precisely formulated with targeted levels of protein and fat to support the high energy levels of large breed puppies. Whole grains are nutrient-dense foods that nourish a healthy digestive system for proper nutrient absorption
  • Made with absolutely no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. This is a high quality product that is produced in the manufacturer's own facilities to ensure safety and quality.
  • Nutro's dedicated team of experts tailor their formulas to your pet's life stage and health condition. They only use natural ingredients that they directly buy and can trace back to their suppliers.

  • Great Puppy Food!

    By on

We have two dogs, dutch shepherd rescue, and one german shepherd/malamute cross breed. Both have been on this food as puppies. I think we just received our last bag of this as we are weaning off puppy food. Neither dog has had any issues with eating it nor have they ever had any digestive issues on this food. Their fur is super shiny and soft and we get compliments all the time on how amazing they look. When we get another puppy, we will definitely be getting Nutro again!

  • Pup's skin problems solved

    By on

When I first got my Great Dane puppy she was on a chicken-based dry food. Turns out she has a chicken allergy that was making her skin break out in bumps. Our vet recommended trying a fish-based food but it was impossible to find a large breed puppy variety. Then they suggested lamb, and so we got this. She's been on this food for a few months now and her skin has cleared up and she doesn't have digestive issues other than being a little gassy. I assume she loves this food since her bowl is empty within a few minutes of filling it up!

I find the product to be excellent my Lab. eats it very well, but I get 30 lbs. for $51-$47, a bit expensive for someone on a strict budget.

  • Nitro for the Win

    By on

I have been feeding my 5 month old lab nutro since I brought her home. As soon as she was completely switched from the breeders food to this, I noticed an amazing difference in her coat. She went from havin terrible dandruff, to none at all. Her coat is so shiny and black it almost looks like velvet. She gets compliments on it everywhere we go! I recently switched her from the chicken and rice recipe to the lamb and rice as I thought she had an allergy to chicken. She has done much better on the lamb recipie. I have never seen a dog so excited for her food. She will turn down human food if she had to make the choice between that and her Nutro. My puppy and I both love it!

  • Perfect for my picky 4 month old Golden pup!

    By on

Although my golden pup doesn't have a chicken allergy, he refused any chicken-flavored food. The vet told me that he has to be eating a large breed formula, but most large breed puppy formulas are chicken! I finally found this brand, and my coworker said she used to feed her dogs nutro and they LOVED it! So I figured I'd give it a try & I am confident in this decision. Ever since my baby came home, he's always had soft stools, and often diarrhea & the vet said he was just fine but it still worried me. However, after I switched to this brand and flavor, he finally has firm stools! This is an amazing food if you have a picky pup. And the price is amazing compared to pet store prices! My Pitbull puppy loves this food. He was having trouble with dry skin so we switched to the lamb and it seems to be helping.

  • My Puppy Loves this Food

    By on

I purchased another high end, grain free puppy food but our pup had difficulty digesting it...I think it was too rich and resulted in diarrhea. Decided to switch to Nutro Lamb & Rice puppy food and our pup loves this food. No more digestion issues, it's grain free and our puppy is thriving on this food. Our older pups eat the Nutro Venison, grain free dog food so this brand seems to make an excellent puppy and dog food that's easily digestible. Very happy with this purchase.
