  • MEDIUM size EXCELLENT, but LARGE NOT so good

    By on

LOVED the MEDIUM size for my Westie and my chi mix--difficult to get the last couple of pieces of kibble out, but not so long they'd give up. And the Westie didn't distroy it. It met my other requirements--didn't get stuck under the cabinets, was quiet, and kept them busy without being way too difficult. A bonus was the indentations made it possible for my chi mix to pick it up and bring it back to where she is supposed to keep her treat toys. I ordered the large size because it was on sale and I wanted another one. It would have been fine if the lip inside was the same depth as the medium's, but it was deeper and made it exponentially harder to get out the last couple of pieces of kibble LOVED the MEDIUM size for my Westie and my chi mix--difficult to get the last couple of pieces of kibble out, but not so long they'd give up. I did the same thing another reviewer did, got hold of the lip with a tool and cut chunks out of it to make it easier. A minor criticism of both is that the drain hole could be bigger to drain faster. I drilled it a bit bigger and that made a big difference. Now it is perfect and, I think we all agree, our favorite treat toy. … more

  • love it!!!

This ball is awesome!!! After I take my 2.5 yr old out for her morning and afternoon walks, I feed her her kibble in this ball...she absolutely loves it! She will roll it around all day Long even when there is no kibble in it. Sometimes, I put a few treats in it so she can get a nice surprise in between her kibble bites. She's a joy to watch as well. She's gotten it stick under some furniture a few times where I had to get it out for her, but she has adapted to when she gets close to those spots, she will pick it up and bring it back to her bed and then start over again. She's also super quick with getting all the kibble out too. She's a really smart girl, and learns extremely fast. Love this This ball is awesome!!! • LOVE this Toy!

After reading some of the negative reviews below I just have to say that I guess everyone's dog is different and you should give this a try for yourself. We have a 16 month old, 100 lb. German Shepard that is an EXTREMELY active dog. Bought this Treat Ball as a way of keeping him entertained and I LOVE IT! He figured it out immediately. I fill it twice in the evening and when he is finished with the second round - he peacefully sleeps for the rest of the evening! It's also entertaining for us to watch him play with it. I do, however, take the ball away when he is done because I do not want him to think it's a chew toy. I am purchasing a second one today just to keep on hand in case anything After reading some of the negative reviews below I just have to say that I guess everyone's dog is different and you should give this a try for yourself. • Great treat-dispenser for light to medium chewers

    By on

When I first opened this toy, I was so excited. This was a great toy that is just tricky enough to hold a dog's attention. They don't get the treats too fast, so it was good at providing mental stimulation. Mine loved it, but he decided that it would just be easier to chew through the ball v. kicking it around. So, it was getting destroyed and I had to take it away. But, for a dog with a softer mouth, this would be awesome.

I got the large and it is perfect for my heavy chewer i have NEVER seen her figure out a toy like this one, ive always bought squeaky toys and there gone in 5 min at most and stuffing everywhere i didn't think she would be able to figure this one out i figured if anything she has another toy ball but SHE DID she rolls it all over the floor wagging her tail when she find pieces of snack. I LOVE THIS

  • Doesn't hold up to big dog abuse

    By on

Ok for enrichment for an active dog. Our baby (58lb active chewer) is a destroyer of toys and this didnt do it. The Wobbler by Kong is a much more substantial choice. If your dog is a light chewer then this will be fine and works well. Our dog punctured it in about 3 minutes. If left for 2 minutes alone it would be DESTROYED.

The opening has a large lip inside the ball of an inch or more. That means treats fall into the rim of the opening and simply don't come out. With a lot of work I pulled the lip out with a pliers, and manage to cut a lot of it off, but still some there. Don't want to cut the opening edge itself because the material is a lot thinner than kong toys, so would be easy for a dog to bite off and swallow pieces. Overall, a disappointment and I won't buy this brand of toy again. Any testing at all with actual treats and a dog and it would have been obvious the design doesn't work.

  • Great for puppies!

    By on

If your puppy likes food get this toy. You put your dogs food or treats in it and they will push it around and keep themselves busy! It is a wonderful way to give them breakfast or lunch because they are distracted and working their brains as well as filling their bellies. Seriously made puppy food time so much better in my house!

  • Fun for the dog

    By on Top 250 Contributor

At first my standard poodle had no idea how to play with this toy. After a bit she learned that if she rolled the ball around food came out. She loved it. She would smack it with her paw like a cat and race after it and gobble up any tasty treat that fell out. Great activity for a dog.

  • Engaging Toy

    By on

My sister had this ball for her dog several years ago and I was delighted to find in on Chewy when my wife and I adopted our young dog a few weeks ago. Our pup picked up on the idea immediately when she was shown how to roll the ball to get the kibbles. It helps keep her occupied and "work" for part of her meals.
