Orijen Dry Dog Food

Whole Prey Foods

In the wild, dogs consume the whole animal to meet their full dietary needs, so Orijen recipes incorporate three whole prey elements in specific ratios.

  • Meat (70−85%) High meat inclusion means all amino acids are provided in natural form, without any synthetic supplements.
  • Edible Bone (5−10%) Bone, marrow and cartilage provide calcium, phosphorus, glucosamine and chondroitin without any artificial additives.
  • Organ Meat (10−15%) Fresh liver and tripe are richly nourishing sources of vitamins and minerals, including iron, zinc, and vitamins A, B and D.

Orijen believes you have a right to know where the ingredients in your dog's food come from. From nest-laid eggs and wild northern pike to juicy orchard-grown apples and crisp garden greens, each ingredient is sourced from local producers they know and trust.

  • Not for Lucy

    By on

My 5 month old Great Pyrenees/Pit Bull mix has been a finicky eater since we got her at 8 weeks. I have had to mix her dry food with wet food to get her to eat. Was hoping this would be one she would eat without having to mix with wet food, especially since it's so expensive. Nope. Kind of disappointed because the reviews were so great. Could be our Lucy just prefers wet food over dry but will not pay this price only to have to buy wet food too. I'm sure it's a great product just not for our Lucy.

  • The BEST YEAAAAA

Well I have been out of the pet game for a while. The last "quality" dog food I remember was Alpo. But over the years I have taken notice to pet food marketing. So fast foward years later my 6 yr old son wanted a Cane Corso for a pet. So I went and found the perfect puppy but being that he is a Mastiff I know his diet has to be high in rich proteins. So I consulted with friends, family, and the vet who all have large to giant breeds. My buddy told me Orijen and my puppy is almost 4 months old and he has put on so much weight and is lean and happy. I don't want to spend $85 a bag but a healthy dog is a happy dog and I have no excuses I only have 1 biological child can't be cheap with the heath Well I have been out of the pet game for a while. • Only food I fed my Golden pup

    By on

When we got our male Golden pup at 7 weeks, he came with a bag of ALS kibble the breeder got at a farm implement store. Since all my other Goldens eat Orijen I had a large bag of the Large Breed Puppy kibble waiting. I didn't even bother to mix the Orijen with the breeder's kibble, just chucked it and started him on the Orijen right away. No problems at all. He has grown up to be a gorgeous 1 year old, a big boy with a coat to die for. Everyone who sees him has nothing but complements. He is by far the best pup of the litter for which I credit the Orijen. Goldens have so many health risks, I never compromise on their food. We are now transitioning to adult food, Orijen of course!

  • Great Product

This is easily the best quality dog food you can purchase. I did a lot of research on dog food prior to getting my GSD pup. The nutrition and quality of this food are outstanding, and my pup, who just turned one year old loves it! I have been looking to switch her to adult food, and I will be sticking with Orijen! Other brands don't even come close in comparison. Orijen foods are grain, corn, wheat , soy, tapioca , potato, and rice free. Antibiotic, hormone, and GMO free. They have their own grass fed, free-range, local farmers and the fish are wild caught or responsibly farmed. They never outsource, meaning they have their own facilities to make the food and do not let anyone else make the This is easily the best quality dog food you can purchase. Lastly they use many botanicals like tumeric root, lavendar, and rosehips, which each have their purposes from detoxifying the body to strengthening the immune system. The large puppy formula has adequate glucosamine and chondrointin for a growing puppies joint health. You know that you are giving your dog the best when feeding him/her Orijen. … more

  • Glad we Switched

I switched out 6month old black lab from another brand. Some immediate results were better, more solid, stools. He also seems to have more energy where as he used to be a little more lethargic. Another great benefit is that this kibble has a higher caloric content so we end up feeding our puppy much less food. Although a 25lb bag is expensive I estimate it will last us about a month, whereas with the other brand, I was buying 2 - 22lb bags a month.

  • Happy W/ Purchase

    By on

My 5-month old dobie puppy seems to love it. I had to change him over from Fromm to Orijen because his bigger teeth were coming in and the puppy dry food kibbles from Fromm were getting too small for him and he seems like he was losing interest in it. He is a picky eater from the get-go and would not eat some brands of dry food until I found Fromm which he loved. Orijen has a slight fishy smell to it but heck, if my dog loves it, who am I to say no?

  • Worth Every Penny!!

For years I have always wanted to buy Orijen for my previous grown dogs, but never wanted to spend $90+ for a bag when there were "good" brands for $50-$60. But now we have a new puppy (Rottweiler and Blue Lacy - state dog of Texas- mix) so I said let let's get the Best for him. WOW! My puppy (12 weeks) LOVES Orijen! He ate another quality brand puppy for the first 10 weeks, but never seemed interested, but with Orijen he eats it all! No need to entice with a dab of wet food....he downs it in a minute. The ingredients say it all. The first 11 are animal proteins....no other brand/food comes close to what a growing dog requires. No grain, no wheat, no corn, no soy......just the best dang For years I have always wanted to buy Orijen for my previous grown dogs, but never wanted to spend $90+ for a bag when there were "good" brands for $50-$60. • PICKY PUPPY!

    By on

My pup LOVES it! Had her on raw (frozen patties) because she would never eat kibble, but she started to become unpredictable, on when she was hungry & I was wasting a lot of food/$$. So I looked for a brand that I felt comfortable with the ingredients & this was it!! Great quality & she loves the taste! Not cheap, but worth it! While transitioning over, she would only eat the kibble.. by the second day I gave her only kibble, worried that she would get the runs for switching so quick.. she didn't!!! It was easy on her stomach.

  • proof is in the coat

We've been feeding our Lab puppy this food since we got her at 10 weeks. She's 6 months now and we feed her less than her siblings owners are feeding them. She's getting around 2 1/2 c. or less and the other puppies are getting 3c heaping cups full. The only downside is the price, but it's worth it.

  • Really improved my dog's digestive issues

    By on

Within a few days of starting Orijen dog food, my dog's digestive issues have greatly improved. She's had digestive problems since I got her at 3 months old and she just turned 1. This is a huge accomplishment.
