  • Basically a good dog house

    By on

We bought the Medium for our 20 lb. Westie. It's a little large for him, but it's just to dodge a shower etc. when he's out on the deck. It arrived quickly from Chewy. Its a good thing it's fairly obvious how to put together, because there were no instructions. There were 2 holes each in the perimeter of the top and the bottom, but they only aligned if you put the top front on the bottom rear! There were no screws, bolts, etc. supplied. Because of the leakage problem that some have mentioned, I did not use the pre-existing, vertically oriented holes, but drilled 8 holes horizontally in the overlapping shells, then secured with plastic ties. Does it work? I don't know. It hasn't rained We bought the Medium for our 20 lb. Westie. It's a little large for him, but it's just to dodge a shower etc. when he's out on the deck. Does it work? I don't know. It hasn't rained, and the dog has taken no interest in it yet. Based on a previous house like this though, I am confident that the dog will accept it, I will be able to make it rain-proof, and it will last for decades. … more

  • Works great nestled in the medium Petite Barnhome

    By on

I have an outside cat who just won't go through the cat door into the heated garage on his own. Wanted to make sure he had somewhere to get warm so nestled a small Barnhome in a medium one and added a heated blanket to create an insulated, snug hideaway for him on the back deck. Also placed the extra small Barnhome with another heated pad for him on top of the patio table. Now I'm not as worried about him when the temperature drops and he seems pretty happy in his own little apartments :)

  • Perfect for the outside Kitty

    By on

"We were adopted" by a big tortoiseshell kitty. She came around and is very friendly, but isn't a kitty that wants to be inside. As we anticipated cold weather, I purchased this house and put a warming pad inside. It was still warm when we first bought it and Shelly wouldn't go inside the house. As the weather got cool during the nights, Shelly still didn't use it, so I gave her Pounce and put a trail into her house. Then she started using it. She's curled up inside napping during the day and sometimes during the night. I bought the flap "door" but I have to clip it up because she doesn't like it and won't enter if it's down. She seems to really love her house! … more

  • Dog Barn House: Medium

    By on

Sturdy, thick plastic. Quick, easy and simple to snap bottom and top together. 16 month old, 47 pound (red heeler, lab mix) rescue adopted Australian cattle dog. Put about 3 inches of pine wood chips (red cedar even better) inside and good to go. While Mysti still uses her Elevated Pet Bed, she's in the Dog Barn on cooler nights. Through 2 weeks, she has not chewed / 'gnawed' on the plastic. Yea! Another reasonably priced Chewy supplied product.

  • Awesome dog/cat house

    By on

I have six cats. Two like to stay outside even in inclement weather (except thunderstorms) They also like to be up off the ground. I placed 2 chairs, seats facing, & placed the house on one chair (wire tied the chairs together and also wire tied the house to the chair - prevents movement). Then one of the self heating pads (that I bought from Chewy) inside the house. Did the same for the 2nd house. One of the cats, female, weighs 18 lbs; the other cat, male, weighs 19 lbs. They fit snug and well in the house. They are both happy with their new houses, even when it rains. No water gets inside the house (I think the back of the second chair helps keep blown water from going inside the I have six cats. May need to put in a blanket under the pad. Or maybe the babies will agree to sleep inside the house. … more

  • Great quality dog house

    By on

I actually bought this for a litter of stray kittens now 9 mnths old. They love using it as I also placed a nice warm pet bed inside. Good quality house, hard plastic material and easy to snap together. Will be easy to clean also. And again arrived within 2 days. Love Chewy.com.

  • Good quality

    By on

This house is just as described, and seems to be of good quality. My dog was very unhappy the few times we left him outside while we were gone, but he is fine now that he has a house, which gives him security.

i found the best price on this at Chewy, my dogs love it.... it's roomy enough for my 40 lb dog to stretch out in, and the smaller girl loves it too. i didn't put the doors on, i'm only using it for a wind shelter on the porch so they can stay out longer if they wish. very happy
