  • Far from perfect

There are so many problems. The cover doesn't fit easily on top of the reservoir bowl. The power switch is hard to locate and under the unit, making it difficult to turn off and on. The display has a glossy hard to read display that isn't backlit. If the display and controls were on an angle it would be easier to see/use. Taping any part of the unit will cause more food to fall. Floor vibrations will cause more food to fall. It dispenses 1/4 cup increments, our cat food recommended 1/3 cup per weight of cat. Overall I am very disappointed with this purchase, the food falling on the slightest vibration isn't good. The rest of the problems I could forgive.

  • Doesn't feed full amt. cats go hungry

    By on

This doesn't always drop my cats smaller kibble. Idk if it's because it isn't as heavy as the bigger dog kibble, but I have to set it to a full cup if I want to make sure my cats get a full 3/4 cup every time cause it doesn't rotate enough to get that last 1/4 to drop. I can shake the unit and it will finally drop out. But my boys go hungry and then when that last 1/4 of the full cup does fall, they get over fed. I've had a feeder that has a solid 1/4 cup thing that rotated however many times you tell it to and would give the right amount every time, but it got lost in a move. Also, there's a bunch of food that falls into cracks and ends up either inside the base and you can't even shake it out This doesn't always drop my cats smaller kibble. • Loving the new feeder!

    By on

This feeder, once Jakey got used to it (it took maybe a day), has been great in providing consistent and portioned feeds for Jakey. He is not a fat cat, actually too thin (16 yrs old!), and this will hopefully help him gain some healthy weight back. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars (I would give 4.9) is I wish the top lid would be easier to deal with- its a twist on only in the perfect spot and I find it annoying, could be better design.

  • Inconsistent and disappointing

    By on

I bought this in May and it worked well for two months. Now the dispensing is inconsistent and unreliable. It skips meals and, if it does dispense, it can be the full amount or barely a quarter of it. I'm truly disappointed and should have listened to the bad reviews. I should add that I have not changed the food and have kept the feeder clean and in good condition. Time for a different brand...

  • Very Helpful

My dog required no training period. The only thing I don't care for is the power button being on bottom which I have to turn off when we are away with my dog. The device clock also has to be reset when turned back on. It holds feeding schedule but not current time.

  • Aspen Pet Feeder

We received pet feeder the next day and found it to have easy to assemble and set up instructions. I am a senior, so I was impressed. Feeder also was easy to program and it works exactly like the information said it would.

  • Aspen Pet LeBistro Half-cooked failure

    By on

As I just stated in my review (which will appear on all ten of my Consumer sites, since I review thousands of products for investigations, postings and lawsuits, as a Consumer Advocate). The clock resets itself, dropping food at random times. This flaw defeats the entire concept of having an automated, reliable timed mechanism to feed pets, doesn't it? This Lebistro is a huge half-cooked fail.

  • Wouldnt buy again

My cat figured out how to get her paw up in there and get her food out within 3 days of having this. Then she figured out how to get her bowl off and carry it around. THEN she fogured out how to pop the locked top off. If you have a cat/dog who really doesnt care about food, this may work for you. But if you have a stickler for food like I do, this is way too easy to figure out. Spend the money on a decent one.

  • Using for one cat outside under cover

    By on

Operates as promised I am using it for an AM and a PM feeding but you can add a third time. Set up allows you to set the time and quantity of feeding. Requires D batteries Good capacity to store food for many meals. Only concern is that the item is made of very lightweight plastic and the locking lid is hard to get off and on - a difficult but not impossible fit.

  • Food dish hinders drop of food

    By on

This is a very nice product. We bought it early so we could determine if it would serve the purpose for vacation. It does feed the specified amount, however the food dish seems to not allow the food to drop properly. So we removed the food dish and the food will drop. Some food remains under the feeder but still accessible to your pet. They just have to forage a little, Great for cats who will be "home alone" for a little while!!
