  • Nice and it filters water

    By on

Not actually sure why I care about the filtering part since they drink out of mud puddles out side and seem to enjoy it. But this has a small filter that fits in easily and they're inexpensive. I have the piece of mind that chemicals are being taken out of their water and I only have to fill it once a day (4 animals) They also come in bigger sizes so that would be an option but I like giving them fresh water so I didn't go bigger. The cat really seems to like it too especially when it bubbles. It is kind of awkward to clean though, Hence only 4 stars.

  • Trying to Hydrate my Cats

It isn't ideal. I like it well enough to keep it but doubt I will change filters since it hasn't made a difference for my cats. The bowl needs to be dumped regularly when debris falls in. I thought my cats would like it but they don't. In fact, I bought 2. One cat looks at it but won't drink from it. I put her old bowl next to the new one. She just looks at the new one. I removed the old bowl one day but that didn't work. The other cat won't drink from one but will drink from the other. Still, there is no real point in using it since it isn't self cleaning and apparently not enticing to my cats. I like the looks of the water feeder, and the additional amount I can set out. It's not enough though. … more

  • Eh, does it's job but...

    By on

My experience with the water bowls that always have water is the water line does not get exactly to the top of the bowl. This one does. Meaning when you fill up the reservoir of water and flip it over, the bowl itself fills up to the very top of the bowl. This causes problems, when/if you want to move the entire thing...water goes everywhere. Just an annoyance.

  • Filter obsolete

    By on

I like this waterer, so I know my cats have access to their limitless water supply (until It gets empty) and its fresh. Although next day the filter I installed was floating inside the water jug part. I use filtered water so I tossed the filter.

  • Too heavy, gets dirty fast

    By on

I bought this big 4 gallon water dispenser because my dog drinks a lot of water. But it's so big that when you fill it with water it's so heavy like really heavy to turn it over and put it in the bottom part. I think it's even more than 4 gallons. And it gets very dirty because you don't have to change it very often cuz there's so much water in it at the bottom of the Bowl starts like getting dirty like accumulating stuff. I would recommend half this size like a 2.5 gallon. I have a big german shepard and I want him to have fresh water.

  • Stays really clean

    By on

This makes keeping fresh water around for my cat so easy. The bowl and the water stay surprisingly clean. As it fills there tend to be some air bubbles which I thought would scare off the cat but she doesn't seem to mind them at all. She seems to use this more than any other water we set out so I just ordered a second one.

  • Top water jug is NOT dishwasher safe

    By on

I absolutely love this waterer for our cat- however after months of use and hand-washing I decided to put it through the dishwasher to give it a good clean. Well, the top clear water jug melted and warped unfortunately. I will be ordering a new one because I love the product otherwise, just wish the whole thing was dishwasher safe!

  • The watering center

    By on

This works well! My dog is a big drinker and I had to refill his water bowl at least twice a day. He was not intimidated by the bowl or the reservoir. The water is filtered for freshness. It is a little challenging to empty and refill at times but I am still experimenting with the best way to empty and refill the container :/

  • Works well, but leaks

    By on

The Petmate product works well. My dog loves it and there is plenty of water. The problem is it leaks. It looks as if the water leaks slowly around where the two pieces are assembled. If you get one that does not leak, great, but otherwise it makes a mess.

  • Great product

    By on

I personally think it would be better for a dog though, small to medium sized. My cat gets too distracted from the bubbles when the water inside adjusts. She tries to knock it down every day and finally was successful after a couple months. Back to a normal bowl, but it was great when she did use it and stopped messing with it lol.
