Description

Nothing's more fun than playing off leash, but when you have four lumbering limbs, a large mouth, and a curious personality it's important to follow the rules. The PetSafe big Dog Remote Trainer helps keep large dogs in line by allowing you to deliver harmless, annoying static correction or a high-pitched tone to get your dog's attention when instinct wins over manners. The remote and waterproof receiver collar have a 100 yard range, which is great because there's a lot of things to distract a pup while chasing a ball the length of a football field.

  • Works great on short haired dogs

We have a Doberman/German Shepherd mix and the collar works wonderfully on her. We have it on a lower setting, and she will usually just respond to the warning sound. On the other hand... it does not work well on our Australian Shepherd/ German Shepherd mix. He has thicker fur and only seems to twitch on the HIGHEST setting, not caring at all. Although, he does usually stop whatever he is doing wrong when using the warning sound. Another issue... our dogs love to wrestle around a lot and will often turn off/on each other's collars, which caused the collars to die fairly quickly. • High Hopes

    By on

Really had high hopes that this collar would be a good tool to help use with training my 6 month old Getman Shepherd. I quickly realized even on High he isn't even phased. I adjusted to make sure it was in the proper place against the skin and even used it on myself. If you are looking for something to get your dogs attention for more than an initial use spend the extra money on another collar.

  • Needs a louder sound

    By on

I had owned one of these collars with my other dog. I used it on my dog but one day it fell out of the car and I ran over it and ruined it. This one is a bit different but the biggest thing is that the warning buzzer isn't that loud and I haven't been able to get it louder. My dog is older and doesn't hear the sound very well so it doesn't do the job. I don't want to use the shock on him as the sound is effective if he can hear it. Otherwise, I like the collar but I may have to return it.

Was having a time training my 5 month old 80lb Great Dane puppy. Put the collar on and followed directions and after just a few days her attitude changed and has been getting better and better, and don't t have to use the collar as much. I personally like the trainer........

  • Petsafe Big Dog Remote Trainer

A lot of people down training with e collars but I highly recommend it especially if you have a high drive dog. It doesn't hurt them. Its the best training tool you can use. I just wish it was rechargeable instead of battery powered, but for the money it gets the job done.

  • Great collar but keep an eye on the prongs

    By on

Bought this to use on my 88lb American Bulldog mix we adopted recently. She was trained using a beeping collar so she responds well to this. One tip for this collar is make sure you tighten the prongs at least every other day. A week after buying, one of the prongs fell off from not being tightened. I called PetSafe and they are sending replacement prongs.

  • Nice item that does what it is intended to.

    By on

This "shock collar" works as it was designed. Had to use it the first day we received it. We actually needed it the day before, unfortunately, but didn't buy it soon enough. My dog attacked one of our cats. This item's stimulation range is pretty good from minimal to strong. The sound/beep is too quiet, I think. If this also had a vibration feature, it would be perfect for linking the stimulation to noise for proper training.

  • Works well

This has worked well. I have only had to use the beeping to get her attention. The batteries do run out quickly if you don't cut it off when not using. Over all it has done what I needed it to do.

  • WOW What a difference

    By on

I was so worried about using a shock collar on my doberman. I only use setting 5 and it works like a charm. I no longer have to walk him on a leash, he doesn't chase the little dogs. It has made him the most perfect dog. I basically only have to use the Beep now.

  • Works great!

I bought this for my hyper 1-year-old pitbull. The first couple times that he jumped up on me, I pressed the sound button followed by the shock (on low levels like 4 or 5) Since then, I only really have to press the sound button and occasionally the shock as a reminder. I've had it about a week and I'm excited to see how it works when on a walk and in other situations.
