  • Works but has "Cons"

    By on

This definitely helped our dog's barking from being uncontrollable. We live in front of a very active park and he was always barking at other dog passerby's while we were home. (His barking wasn't a problem while we were gone.) This item does not have an on/off switch so you have to take the battery out if you don't want to use it (which we don't if we are away - if someone is breaking in, we want our dog to bark!) Problem is, it goes off when you put the battery back in.... when he isn't doing anything wrong. So that's why only 3 stars.

  • wont do anything for a determined barker

    By on

my dog has really bad separation anxiety and I've been trying new training mechanisms to help him. I loved the idea of an ultrasonic noise that only my pet could hear and that it wouldn't hurt him. This little bark control pod requires a 9 volt battery that according to the manual should last me anywhere from 2-3 months. When I first put the batteries in it I pressed the top middle button so that it would make the noise it should make and see how my dog would react to it. My dog was sleeping on my couch and I was sitting right next to him and I pressed the button multiple times and he never woke up!! Finally I woke him up a little to get his attention and pressed the button again and I could my dog has really bad separation anxiety and I've been trying new training mechanisms to help him. Regardless I wanted to try the device while I was at work. So I leave the device on top of my dinning table with a brand new 9 volt battery and by the time I get home my dog has literally drained all the battery from the device. According to the manual when there is a flashing red light that is an indicator that the battery is low. Long story short, if your dog is an excessive barker this wont do anything. Maybe whatever noise that it was making just wasn't loud enough to actually annoy my dog or my dog is just VERY special. I just couldn't believe that he was able to drain a 9 volt battery that was suppose to last me up to 3 months in literally 12 hrs!!! … more

  • Great for sensitive dogs

    By on

I have a border collie with separation anxiety and this worked great and lasted 2 years. The only thing I disliked about it is there is no on/off button so you have to remove the battery each time. But otherwise it stopped him from barking at every noise and when I left home. He is a very sensitive dog so I'm not certain how well it would work for more determined barkers but works amazing for mine. I'm off to buy my second one.

    By on

It seemed like it worked he stopped barking for the paperboy, mail and anyone at the door but my friend that does our taxes he comes in and he doesn't stop barking. So I am baffled I haven't tried the collar yet I don't have the heart plus it's been so wet & cold out doesn't bark alot in the yard.

  • did not work for my Beagle/Jack Russell mix

    By on

I have a 3-4 month old Beagle/Jack Russell mix I'm trying to train not to bark at every single thing that moves around her. At first, I wasn't sure if it was a battery issue, but once I replaced it with a new 9V battery, there still was not much of a difference in her barking. I've placed the device close to her and within a 5 ft radius, yet the results were the same, bark city. From my personal experience, I wouldn't recommend this.

  • Worked like a charm!

My hubby works nights and sleeps during the day. Our two dogs look out the windows and bark at everything. It took less than a day for them to stop. This is cordless so you can place it anywhere which is nice. We have a 90 lb Lab and a 15 lb Yorkie, works for both!!! Awesome product :) Give it a try!

  • Not worth it

When I first installed it, when the dog barked she looked at it, but it did nothing to deter her from barking at all. There has to be something better out there.

  • works great for some dogs not for others

    By on

I have two dogs, a medium boy who is of a sensitive nature and a maltipoo who has more determination and will than most people do. This product worked fantastic on the sensitive dog as he immediately had a reaction and the barking has lessened. It maintained the little dog's barking for a short period of time. However, the little one quickly adapted and now could care less that her barking creates a noise. I guess some dogs learn what they can live with.

  • Great product

I've used the unit for two weeks now and my two dogs have stopped barking when I leave the house. The only down fall is you must remove the battery to turn it off and it will alarm if I cough.
