  • Dry and crumbly, my dog wouldn't touch them

    By on Top 10 Contributor

While I do have a very picky dog, she has NEVER turned down any sort of sausage treat before. These, she wouldn't even take from me when I handed it to her. I tried it again another day, and still not the slightest bit of interest. The (single-wrapped) sausage was well within the expiration date, but was dry and crumbly, so maybe there was a defect in the seal that allowed it to air out. I'm still giving them 4 stars, because the ingredients are great and maybe a less-picky dog would enjoy them. I'll be sticking to Merrick's sausages.

  • Watch for Mold! (but AWESOME customer service!)

    By on

I ordered 2 bags of these because I have an semi-toothless dog who needs a softer treat and just loves these for his evening snack. I opened the first bag and the sausages (which usually look dark red and plump) were shriveled up and black. Yuck! Knowing that this wasn't normal, I immediately called customer service and they sent out a replacement package. The replacements came and they are fat and juicy just like they are supposed to be. The sausages are the perfect size for a large dog and just enough when broken in 1/2 for the smaller crew (like mine!) The duck flavor has a good smell (the salmon ones can be a bit overpowering) and the texture is not a hard jerky but not a soft gummy chew. Somewhere in the middle that makes it easy for an older dog. Would recommend! … more

  • My pup's FAVORITE treat

    By on

These are excellent in quality, taste (based on our dog's reaction-he recognizes the bag when we get them), nutrition. Our holistic vets (one in WI, one in SC) both are pleased with this as a treat choice.

  • My dog loves these!

    By on

A sample of this treat came in a recent delivery of my dog's monthly "Bark Box" and she loved it! They are more expensive, but I think you get what you pay for and I want to ensure my dog's health. She loves these and I'm sure we'll be purchasing more. Sienna thanks you!!

  • Expensive but worth it

    By on

My dogs love these treats - they seem expensive but it's a big bag and they are very good quality. The Salmon variety is very good as well - we alternate between them.

  • My boys LOVE this

    By on

Both my boyz love these and they work well for my dog that has chicken allergies. The only thing I was surprised about was this is the first item that is actually MORE expensive then my neighborhood store (well, this and the Plato duck treats)

  • too 'gobbleable"

    By on

These 'sausages' are GREAT my dog tells me, as he gobbles them down in seconds. I would need to slice them up into MUCH smaller pieces to make them more affordable, less easily gobbled. I don't want to bother with that. Instead, I use the Plato duck 'small bites' which are already small enough to fit into toys that disburse threats with some work.
