This food has been a lifesaver for my 2 year old pitbull who suffers from food allergies (diagnosed by elimination diet).
My boy does not do well on grain free or red meat and it was difficult to find a fish based grain inclusive food, but also one that he would eat. Very happy I took a chance with this food. His allergy symptoms/yeast have been under control now for 6 months.
We made the mistake about 2 weeks ago of switching to another "higher end" brand that was fish based, but grain free (because of the drop in bag size and recent price increase with this food) and my dog ended up at the vet with acute IBD due to a severe allergic reaction to the grain free food. We definitely learned our lesson and will be sticking with Pro Plan for good, dispite the smaller bag size. I am hoping the increase in kcals will make up for the smaller bag (you feed less of higher calorie foods).

I bought this because my mom dog was having stomach problems with the Pro Plan 30/20.
She has not kept good on it at all. It is like a cheap dog food in how it conditions a dog. It has no umph.
She was unable to lactate well on this as there just is not enough protein and fat to maintain on this food.
I've put her back on the Pro Plan 30/20. Its a much better choice.
I use this now when one of my dogs gets an upset stomach. But, now I have a full unused bag plus a half bag left. I wish I had none or just a small bag for times when I need it.
I'm totally disappointed with this food and I do not recommend it unless you have no other choice.
Your dog will look like its eating O'Roy!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Debadoo57 Disappointed in this food for many reasons. :(
I have 2 wonderfully sweet indoor dogs. One is a 10 yr. old boxer/pit mix and weighs approx. 90 lbs and the other is a 3 yr. old coon hound that weighs approx 50 lbs.
They both had been eating Neutro Large Breed dry food for several yrs. and have had no problems. I read about Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach and thought I would give it a try because the ingredients sounded really good and it was a bit cheaper than the Neutro. They have been eating this food for 5 weeks and I am very disappointed by the results. The boxer/pit has had diarrhea for almost 2 weeks and whines at the door to go out and eat grass about once a week. Both of the dogs now have bad smelling gas. The coon hound has been excessively shedding daily. I have to vacuum (not just swiffer) each day due to the amount of shedding on the harwood floors. Both of the dogs like the food, but seem to be hungry just hours after eating.
What a disappointment in this food, especially due to it being formulated for sensitive skin and stomachs.
I am switching back to Neutro, today!

Rated 2 out of 5 by StacyD The dogs DO NOT like this food
I gave this product two stars because of the quality ingredients. HOWEVER the smell is TERRIBLE and the dogs will barely eat it. The bag is in the garage and I have to keep the top closed or the smell draws flies. I love this brand but will not purchase this flavor again.

I had tried to auto-ship my dog's special sensitive stomach food before but it wasn't available from Amazon or Petsmart. A coworkers recommended Chewy to me and I was pleasantly surprised to find both her brand of food and the salmon oil that I give her as a supplement available and less expensive than buying from Petsmart and 1-800-pet-meds. The shipment came fast and was boxed perfectly. I'm a fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ed32701 Great for any dog with sensitive skin issues
Purina must think people are dim witted. I have been using this product for at least 10 years. It really helped my dogs. But they cut 3 pounds per bag and raised the price about 25 percent. Also they removed the easy open tab on the bag so you need scissors or a knife to open the bag. Product has n been great but I will start looking for an alternative.

We used to love this food as it seemed to be one of the few recipes that agreed with our chocolate lab's sensitive stomach. However about a month or two ago we noticed a change in the size of the kibble followed by our lab beginning to lick and chew her paws relentlessly. Shortly thereafter, both our pooches began to turn their noses up at full bowls which is very unlikely for either of them. We've since switched to Merrick's salmon formula and the skin issues have already begun to clear. I have heard that Merrick was silently bought out by Purina but is not planning on changing their recipes or quality of ingredients. Hoping that holds true.
