  • It has excellent palatability, high level of complex carbohydrates, and moderate fat levels so it provides your dog with optimized nutrition.
  • Suited for dogs that have gastritis and enteritis, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, and other diseases of the intestinal tract.
  • Made in the USA!

Not only did Purina EN Gastroenteric Dry food put our dog on the right track weight wise but helped so much when used with his insulin to lower blood sugar within 2 weeks. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Corn Allergy Ordered Purina DCO based on our Vets recommendation for our diabetic dog. I was very reluctant to order for several weeks because of corn being listed as 2 primary ingredients as well as chicken meal. Finally after again discussing this product and my concerns about it with our Vet and being assured that this product would be fine for our dog we ordered it. Within two weeks we noticed his coat along both sides of his face, shoulders and hips were began showing light colored spotting. Shortly afterward the fur in these spots began to fall out and his coat overall began shedding heavily. The change in food from his regular food to Purina DCO was the only change in his diet. We stopped feeding the Purina and returned to his old food. In less than two weeks he stopped shedding heavily and the spots have almost totally disappeared. After paying our Vet a visit she advised that corn and corn products (both in Purina DCO) is a common food allergen for dogs. An expensive way to learn that!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It was prescribed by my vet, so I bought it. My dog has inflammatory bowel disease. Vet has me using this product, along with prednisolone. Seems to be helping. Bought from Chewy.com because it is GROSSLY cheaper than buying from the vet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life saver! My female German Shepherd had serious butt gland odor due to her stool not being hard enough. The smell was so disgusting. The vet recommended this food to bulk up her stool which would aid in putting pressure on her butt glands to empty during a bowel movement. Omg it worked. All dog foods have 4-5% fiber, this has 10%. It's a little pricey but I tried over the counter fiber and I even doubled her recommended amount, it still didn't work. I tried natural foods, I tried pure canned pumpkin, I tried grain free food. I was out of options and knew it wasn't her fault but she had to remain crated because the smell was awful and I couldn't have that smell on my carpets or furniture. This food was a life saver!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cured loose stools My 9-month-old yellow lab was on Orijen and we loved it (so did he), but after a bout with Giardia and several rounds of antibiotics, Hank couldn't get back to normal with his intestinal issues. His stools were always pudding-consistency and very messy for two months. A food change to Blue Buffalo did not help. After learning that our family's older lab (9.5 years) did well on a DCO mixture with colitis, I added 1/2 cup of DCO to the Orijen for my puppy and his stool solidified by the very NEXT morning! He has had firm stools now for several weeks and we will continue the 1/2 cup to 1 cup DCO/Orijen ratio. Thank you DCO!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It appears to be working. I was pretty confused when I first received this product. My miniature Schnauzer developed diabetes and initially lost 9 pounds. This concerned me so I asked our vet what could be used to help him gain a little weight. He recommended DCO. However we received EN Gastroenteric Fiber Balance. We were told they were one and the same. We fed that to Vini and after a month he hadn't gained weight. We went into the vet and he said to continue using it. He put Vini on the scale an he had gained a pound!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great solution for soft stool We have a 12 year old terrier who has had soft stools his entire life. Not watery, but more like soft serve ice cream. We tried everything--pumpkin, white rice, slippery elm, etc--but nothing seemed to help. The EN Fiber Balance turned out to be the "cure." His stools are now well-formed. As an added bonus, he really enjoys the flavor of the food (which isn't always the case, as he can be a finicky eater).
