Although we trusted our Vet when this special food was prescribed, our two, fast growing German Shepherd pups simply did not like it and wouldn't eat it - even mixed with our homemade chicken, turkey or beef and vegetables. We were sorry we had to return it, but appreciated the understanding of Chewy.com.

Tried hydrolyzed diet for possible food allergies first per vet. Caused stomach upset. Tried a couple of competitors brands with no luck adjusting. This brand is working tummy wise so far with a slow diet change. Only 3 weeks into it, so can't say if it's working on allergy yet. She turned her nose at first, but has learned to like it. I, as the human, can appreciate the ingredients.

  • Great product

    By on

My vet recommended this food for my dog. She has severe allergies - outdoor and food allergies - and this food has not given her any issues. Pricey but worth it!

  • It helped

My 2yr old Lhasa was very itchy and had been very excitable prior to this dog food. And for some reason was dribbling his old dog food out his mouth. He ate this immediately (Duh__I boil chicken thighs and give him about 1TBS chopped, with 1 TBS broth) and he ate very morsel. He had the same chicken with the other dog food, but dribbled it around the kitchen. No more dribbling. The first night, on Purina DRM, he was a changed dog. Quiet, peaceful and well-mannered. Now I wonder if he had had an allergy, and doggie "ADD".

  • Product worked

My welsh terrier suffered from skin rashes which were worse in the summer. Since switching to this food he has had no rash, no skin problems at all. My vet tried several prescription foods, this is the one that worked, he has been on it for over 9 months and it's still working out.

  • This product has been great for my dog.

My dog had severe skin problems. He could spend no more than 2 or 3 months with clear skin after vet care. His problem was so bad you knew he was in the room by his smell. I had tried changing his food several times with no relief. My vet changed him to DRM and the problem has never come back. He has been on it about two years. He will be on it the rest on his life.

  • A little expensive, but it works.

The vet put our dog on this formula for weight control and dry skin. It is expensive, but has a lot of great things in the food. Excellent product.

  • My dog love it!

She is still itching but has only been on the food for about 1 week. I think she mat have a chicken allergy. I forgot to cancel my auto renewal and received 2 bags of chicken jerky and chicken roll-up treats, which I do not need now as she has developed this allergy. Is there ant way I can return these products? Janice and Myah

  • Well worth the money

    By on

I ordered this dog food for my Mother's dog. She's very sensitive and is allergic to most dog foods. Her Veterinarian recommended the DRM and she loves it. A little bit goes a long way, it's very palatable to her, and there have been no adverse effects from using it.
