Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 99 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by no meds needed! We have a sweet 2.5 year old boxer-mix afflicted with irritable bowel disease. His list of protein sensitivities is a mile long- even medications occasionally fail to stop the runny poos. We spent months trying limited ingredient commercial dog foods and finally had to give up. We've been on this food now for several months and his bowels seem to have returned to some semblance of normal. No meds, no runny poos. I don't think it's the most palatable of dog foods, but our boy isn't picky, he's maintaining a healthy weight and we can tell he feels good. He eats 5 cups a day so it gets expensive, but it's worth the cost if his tummy is healthy. July 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Prescribed Dog Food Purchase This was prescribed by my vet, is a good product, and Chewy is a good place to purchase it. July 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My allergic to EVERYTHING dog loves this! I adopted my dog, Ellie, (Whippett - lab mix) about a year ago, and she scratched herself constantly, to the point she had raw wounds on her body. We ran some tests with my vet, and it turns out she has a very severe allergy to just about everything, (especially meat proteins)! She now takes immunotherapy twice daily and Apoquel, (the Apoquel works wonders!) And though these have helped some, she still scratches. I tried a novelty meat dog food with Kangaroo, and the itching did not subside or lessen. Then I switched her to this Purina Pro Plan vegetarian formula, (she is still transitioning over from the Kangaroo formula) and I can already see a difference where she is not scratching as much, as often! So far so good, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping once we are fully transitioned over to this food, the problem we be taken care of! And, very importantly, she LOVES this food! I was concerned it may be too bland and she wouldn't take to it, but she loves it, prefers it to the Kangaroo formula food, and eats them as treats also! January 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product has helped immensely My 13 year old Havanese has suffered from terrible skin allergies and sensitive stomach issues. This product has made a tremendous difference in his life and mine. June 27, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by recommended by vet, but not by dog My pup was prescribed this diet for IBD. He gobbled it up the first few days, which was not surprising, but he has since decided not to give this product great reviews. He tends to be pretty disappointed to find this in his bowl, so I have tried to make eating it a game by tossing is up in the air, one kibble at a time, for him to catch. I tried a few kibbles (it's vegetarian!) and I thought it was pretty tasty, and my other dog is happy to steal a few kibbles, but my dog who needs to be eating it is a little less enthusiastic. I'm really glad this food is available for dogs that need it, but I wish my pup was happier to eat it. I was happy I didn't by the bigger bag before we got to try it out. May 25, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Maggie wouldn't even look at it. She backed away from her bowl. Maggie was put on Purina hydrolyzed kibble on vets instruction. Maggie took one sniff and backed away from her bowl. Subsequent tries resulted in the same behavior, including turning her head away when bowl was directly offered to her. It could have just been her preference, but Maggie usually eats EVERYTHING. June 17, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Vet Recommended and has helped our Adopted Westie Good product, vet recommended and has helped the digestion and health of our aging Westie. Her coat is soft and helps with her allergies. June 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Veterinary prescription food My dog has issues with diarrhea and this food which is vegetarian seems to help so far. We don't know what is wrong with him, maybe he has allergies to chicken which is in most dog food. May 21, 2016
