Feeding Instructions

Treat Responsibly: Redbarn recommends a size slightly larger than your pets mouth. Natural bones may splinter or break causing injury to their stomach or teeth, so you should always supervise use. If the bone should splinter, break, or if your pet is trying to break the bone, remove it immediately. Throw away any pieces that could be swallowed by your pet as pieces can cause choking, gastric upset, or blockage.

I bought a two pack of these hambones for my American Bulldog/Boxer mix and he absolutely loves them. They keep him busy and actually seem to help his breath. These bones do not leave stains on carpet like some others I’ve tried. Also, they do not leave a mess on the floor after they’ve been chewed on. I will continue to order these for my dog as long as they’re available.

  • Really stinky and shatter for my dog

    By on

Ok, these are really stinky. I decided to donate the other two I'd bought to a shelter, with the following :My dog went through it pretty fast, the bones are hollow but not that sturdy, I had to take away the shattered pieces as he ate. Watch you dog carefully and prepare for the smell. Won't buy again.

  • Redbarn Ham bones a huge hit

    By on

I have three Irish Wolfhounds who love these Redbarn Ham bones. From the way they go after them I would say the bones are very flavorful. My three certainly got a lot of chewing enjoyment out of these bones. I would suggest starting either on a towel,a washable rug or outside as these bones have quite a bit left on them and when chewed it does get a bit messy. I will definitely buy these again.

  • Splinter

Ended up tossing these. If you get them, monitor your pet because the bone splintered into fragments.

  • No Good!

Dried out and smelled bad. I think they were old. I get these at walmart and they are damp when I open them and fresh. I would never buy these from Chewy again.

  • Not for Aggressive Chewers

    By on

I used to give my dogs a Greenies at nighttime as part of the going to bed ritual. One of my dogs developed sensitivity to grains and I suspect chicken so I stopped using them. I thought I would try these as an alternative. My Goldendoodle is an aggressive chewer and after about half an hour, she'd demolished each end of the bone and was on her way to eat the rest of it. I took it away from her. The ends are mostly cartilage so I wasn't concerned about her having eaten that part. My Standard Poodle played with the bone for a little bit and chewed on it for a short time. He is missing his side molars so he has difficulty grasping onto the large ends of these types of bones.
