Description

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Renal Support S Dry Dog Food is an easy to digest, savory meal designed to help dogs with kidney disease. Previously labeled as Veterinary Diet Renal LP Modified Dry Dog Food, this new and improved formulation has a greater aromatic profile and tempting texture to ensure superior palatability, and even more health benefits for your dog. By enhancing nutrients like B vitamins and the fatty acids EPA and DHA, and restricting others such as protein, phosphorus, and sodium, it slows down the development of kidney problems while minimizing uncomfortable symptoms.

Key Benefits

  • Restricted phosphorus levels reduces risk of toxic build-up of phosphorus levels in blood and prevents development of secondary hyperparathyroidism
  • Low protein levels assist in limiting the production of uremic toxin
  • Unique formulation has an enhanced aromatic profile and has a savory crescent shaped kibble to ensure exceptional palatability
  • Formula maximizes energy density to help provide adequate calories for pets who have reduced food intake and reduces risk of weakness, depression and lethargy
  • Intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only

Note: Royal Canin Veterinary Diets require a veterinary prescription. This product will not be shipped until a copy of a valid prescription authorization is faxed to 1-800-619-7973 or e-mailed to rx@chewy.com.

  • My dogs love it!

    By on

Very scary when I heard the vet say "kidney disease", she recommended this product and we didn't have any trouble switching our dogs over, they prefer this to their old food which they loved. It is good for our other dog that doesn't have any health issues. Chewy.com saves us $$, we buy all of pet supplies from them, Chewy has super, unbelievably fast shipping, any problems and they make it right...I can't say enough good things about them. Thank you Chewy!

  • Great food for pets with renal issues

    By on

Our 16 lb schnozzle is 15+ years old and has declining renal function. Our Vet recommended Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Renal Support S Dry Dog Food. The food is bland by design and some dogs may not like it as much as their regular food. Mixing the dry food with the Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Renal Support Wet Dog Food makes it more palatable. Our dog eats it dry with no problem but we occasionally mix the wet with dry for some variety. We add water to the mixture to make it almost soupy since the more water our dog gets the better it is for his kidneys. Chewy has the best price on this food and we usually get our order in 2 days. Will buy from Chewy again.

  • So far, so good!

We're about two weeks into this vet recommended diet. Previously, we were on a freeze dried raw diet. My dog started having frequent gastrointestinal issues we were able to contribute (only in part) to her previous food. Additionally, my little girl lives with tricuspid valve displaysia. This blend works very well for her overall well being. She loves it, doesn't mind the kibble aspect of it, and has had no more gastrointestinal issues. If your vet recommends, you can feel confident in this blend!

  • WOW!

    By on

My Yorkie can't get enough of this food! She's 4 pounds and has a tough time with large pellets. I was feeding her the Iams formula, but they have discontinued making it, so I had no idea what I was getting, or whether My dog would even eat it. As a new user of Royal Canin, I was THRILLED to find these small curved pieces she can easily eat! As to the flavor, WOW! Emma is a VERY picky eater! The first word in her 'Food Vocabulary' is... Duck. Freeze dried. So when I opened the bag and she tried to jump up and grab it, I was shocked. Now, she prefers it to her Wet food, something I thought I'd NEVER see!

  • great features

I am satisfied with the food I received from Chewy. It was recommended by my vet who also recommended Chewy. I have been using Chewy for several years now and have always been very satisified with the product and customer service. I always found CS completely helpful and knowledgeable. I now have a different dog since I lost Precious. Her name is Missy

  • Great service

Once we got the Rx details squared away, the process was fairly easy and decidedly less expensive than at the Animal Hospital. Hard to gauge the auto-refill option, so we probably won't do that.

I bought this from recommendation of others. My Callie had been eating very poorly but loves the new food and flavor. I looked several places and Chewy had it for the best price.

  • Drayke Loves It!

    By on

My puppy is a 6mo German Shepherd puppy who began having Kidney Issues after getting a hold of a toxin. My vet suggested getting a kibble which is Kidney Issue Patients specific and this was generally all we could afford. My puppy loves it but it's already half gone and we've only had it a week.... not sure how much longer we can afford this product. Drayke gets homemade parsley tea which is helping as well! We began the Parsley tea before we got the kibble, and Draykes urine slowly began to turn a yellow again, meaning his Kidneys began processing some of the stuff in them. He just got his herbal supplement today and we're hoping it all works out!
