Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Renal Support S Dry Dog Food is an easy to digest, savory meal designed to help dogs with kidney disease. Previously labeled as Veterinary Diet Renal LP Modified Dry Dog Food, this new and improved formulation has a greater aromatic profile and tempting texture to ensure superior palatability, and even more health benefits for your dog. By enhancing nutrients like B vitamins and the fatty acids EPA and DHA, and restricting others such as protein, phosphorus, and sodium, it slows down the development of kidney problems while minimizing uncomfortable symptoms.

Key Benefits

  • Restricted phosphorus levels reduces risk of toxic build-up of phosphorus levels in blood and prevents development of secondary hyperparathyroidism
  • Low protein levels assist in limiting the production of uremic toxin
  • Unique formulation has an enhanced aromatic profile and has a savory crescent shaped kibble to ensure exceptional palatability
  • Formula maximizes energy density to help provide adequate calories for pets who have reduced food intake and reduces risk of weakness, depression and lethargy
  • Intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only

Rated 5 out of 5 by Drayke Loves It! My puppy is a 6mo German Shepherd puppy who began having Kidney Issues after getting a hold of a toxin. My vet suggested getting a kibble which is Kidney Issue Patients specific and this was generally all we could afford. My puppy loves it but it's already half gone and we've only had it a week.... not sure how much longer we can afford this product. Drayke gets homemade parsley tea which is helping as well! We began the Parsley tea before we got the kibble, and Draykes urine slowly began to turn a yellow again, meaning his Kidneys began processing some of the stuff in them. He just got his herbal supplement today and we're hoping it all works out! Anyway, if we can afford it, we will be buying this product as best as we can. January 14, 2017
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible My little jack Russell has never drank so much water ever after she eats this product she's so thirsty I will never buy this dry food again the canned food is fine she drinks her regular amount of water like she always has January 3, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by My dog eats this food! Royal Canin understands that sick dogs on special diets need variety. They get tired of eating the same bland food. I keep a variety of canned and dry and my dog eats much better. I purchase Renal Support and my dog liked it better than the other main brand right from the start. I recommend Royal Canin prescription diets to anyone with a special need doggie. December 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by my picky dog eats it My 16 year old dog had some blood work that showed her kidney function wasn't so hot so the vet said to switch her to some kind of low protein, low phosphorus diet. I ordered this and some canned food made by hills. She will eat this if I mix it with brown rice, pumpkin, chicken broth (homemade) and some chicken. She wil not eat the canned food. Chewy gave me a refund on the canned food, which I thought was mighty cool of them. I will donate the 11 cans I have left to an animal shelter along with half my refund. Aloha. December 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Loves it! My 13 year old Corgi was not eating unless I cooked her food ( eggs, chicken, etc.). I was afraid she had become so spoiled during this last bout of illness that she would never eat dog food again, as she has always been a little finicky anyway. No worries! She LOVES this food! Looks forward to dinner, acts like her old self again! I chose the Savory, for no specific reason, but have a feeling she would like the other varieties too. Thanks for making a palatable food for dogs with no appetite! October 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Royal Canin Formula S Rated Great by our Dogs! Our two retired guide dogs were eating Royal Canin A. My dog liked it (so much better than Science Diet K/D.) However, my husband's dog didn't like the Formula A at all! We needed a formula both dogs would like. The first time we put the Royal Canin S in their bowls they both dived right in and polished it off! After almost a week they still love it! Sometimes dogs with renal disease lose interest in food. It's great to see them enjoying this diet, and I hope it lasts! October 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by works well and my 9 yr old is eating it.... Recommended for intermittent or supplemental feeding.....what exactly does that mean.....why would you make such a big bag if that is the case and not a more in between size bag? Royal Canin is the only dog food company that has one plant where all their Rx foods are made. They focus on good taste but their ingredients do just what they are supposed to do. I will continue to look to Royal Canin for any Rx foods I need to get. September 23, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by My Pomeranian is eating! My 12 year old Pomeranian was diagnosed with kidney disease in May. The vet had us feeding him K/D, but he refused to eat it. I asked if we could try this food. I was unable to get the smaller bag at Petsmart so I decided to order through Chewy. My first bag did not come and seemed to be lost. Chewy fixed the problem right away. When we got the food our dog ate it right away and most days is excited about eating again. I just ordered the 2nd bag and I am so impressed that I received a handwritten postcard from Chewy today welcoming me and hoping my dog loves the food! I am amazed that an online company cares this much! Thank You Chewy! I hope to be able to use this food to keep my Pom healthy for many more years. July 15, 2016
