I have a 16 year old mix dog who is 14 lbs. She was diagnosed with renal failure a few weeks ago. Having been down this road with her mom I only plan on changing her food. He mom did not like the Science Dit KD dog food. She would only eat it with some of the KD wet added in. AJ readily eats this food and I think it may have started helping her feel a bit better. She still drinks a lot and pees a lot but she acts like she feels better. So I'd say this is a good food for her.

  • Strong smell = Happy Lab

    By on

Moved our 6yo male Lab to this food per the Vet's recommendation and he loves it! It is very stinky, which I'm sure adds to his enjoyment. We were really lucky that our Vet pointed out comparing calories instead of a straight switch from his old food; the calorie count is lower for this kibble then what we had him on so he gets more. Since he is very active this was an important catch for us!

  • Works well

    By on

My greyhound had a slight urine leakage issue. Not peeing, but dribbling. After trying a couple of pills from my vet that didn't help, the vet said to try this product as it may help the leaking issue. Well within a week the leakage issue stopped. I'm very happy with the product. My pup doesn't exactly eat it up like his regular food but if I add a little mixer like tuna, he'll eat all of it. I'd recommend this product for anyone that has this same predicament.

  • Royal Canin for my Rat Terrier

    By on

Just a note to write my Rat Terrier, age 15, was recently diagnosed w/early renal disease & our vet recommended Royal Canin, suggested I purchase through their office. I know from previous experience that the vet's charge more & possibly are rewarded monetarily. I compared prices & knew Chewy.com would be more comparable. Several days since receiving his food, he is on it completely & I hope this further protects his kidneys. Chewy.com is an awesome company, most people I know use their service & we all highly recommend Chewy.com Thanks Chewy Rockey & Dee

  • Great service

    By on

The food is a prescription food so there isn't a choice of the food. What is a choice is where it's purchased and Chewy is the best. From contacting my vet to following up with me to keep me update. I so appreciate their customer service! Thank you.

  • Prescription Diet Dog Food

    By on

My dog is a fussy eater. Wasn't sure when the vet put him on this if it would be a waste of money. He eats this as though he hadn't eaten for a couple of days.

  • My dog is eating again

    By on

My dog is enjoying royal Canin, both dry and moist. Previously, he would eat little or not at all. I feel so much better to see him happy and liking his meals.

  • Good stuff!

My guy likes this stuff! And the price is a bit kinder to the wallet than my vet.

  • Good product.

My dog seems to like the taste of the food. Otherwise, it is too early to ascertain if it will improve my dog's renal status.
