Wow I also just returned a new 25# bag to the vet because of nasty chunks of fat in it. I wouldn't have thought anything of it but my dog suddenly wouldn't eat it- she actually refused meals and wouldn't eat until starving. I got a new smaller bag at vet and compared the bags- the larger bag was very greasy with the chunks of 5-10 kibble stuck together with huge globs of fat and the kibble was darker and smelled kinda rancid. The small bag had lighter kibble, no globs and smelled fine. I did a blind taste test for my dog and set two bowls in front of her. She gobbled up the bowl with the new food and left the other!! At her vet visit she had lost two pounds in less than 2 weeks and now I feel awful that is because she has been refusing to eat this food that has something terribly wrong w it. It wasn't expired and it had been opened within 1!week. The 1 star is also influenced by the fact that she didn't really like the food initially either and she still isn't psyched to eat.

Our boxer ricochet is special needs. Without this food we would be in a position to have to make a choice we would never want to have to make.
This is the only thing she is allowed to have. No treats with fat due to her needs. This food has been her lifesaver. We are truly blessed to be able to have her in our lives. We want to thank the company and chewy that thinks of our 4 legged friends as family. Thank you so very much.

My dog has been in this food for over a year. I just a bought a bag and it has lots of fatty grease all over the inside of the bag and white globs of fat mixed in the kibble. I returned this to my vet and exchanged for another bag. It looked the same. When I called, Royal Canin says the food passed inspection so it must be fine, and that this food can be greasy. That batch must have an "extra spray coating." But then they said there was no change in formula and couldn't explain why a batch would need extra "spray coating." I won't be feeding this to my dog and will speak to my vet about alternatives.

Very happy with promptness of delivery. So happy bout larger bag size, and very happy with price. Much cheaper than Petco, for same thing.

My Weimaraner has been diagnosed with IBD and in addition has environmental allergies so her Internist prescribed the duck for her. My girl cannot get enough of this food and is nudging me before her next feeding time. I get my order usually within 2 days. I have increased my girls food intake as she has loss weight previously so it's great that she loves the food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by pacman So far so good - dog loves it.
I have a 2 and a half year old yellow lab. He has been having ear infections and biting his paws. One of them was irritated and fur missing. The vet said this is a sign of food allergies. They suggested a single protein limited ingredient dog food. I chose to get The Royal Canin prescription food at the Vet. We are on the second bag. We have not noticed him biting his paws. So far so good. My only concern at this point is the bag says for his weight he can have 6 and a half cups a day. I started him with 2 in the morning and 2 at night like he normally ate - only now he can't have the treats he used to get. He inhales this food - seems to like it but seems very hungry. I have gradually increased him to 3 cups in the morning and 3 at night. I'm hoping he doesn't gain weight. Also, the vet only had the 17 lb bag but I did find this 25 lb bag. Anyway we will continue to monitor him on this.
