Lower urinary tract disease (LUTD) refers to a group of disorders that commonly leads to irritation of the urinary tract and corresponding undesirable clinical signs.

What causes Lower Urinary Tract Disease? In dogs, bacterial infections of the urinary tract and the presence of stones (uroliths) in the urinary tract are the most common causes. This diet promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.

Key Benefits

  • Recommended for dogs at risk of developing lower urinary tract disease and who are predisposed to weight gain
  • Dissolution of pure struvite uroliths
  • Help prevent struvite, calcium oxalate and phosphate uroliths
  • Provides nutrition that aids in the management of pure struvite uroliths
  • Moderate calorie content, compared to URINARY SO , to help maintain ideal weight
  • Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology predicts the crystallization potential of urine; RSS is used to develop diets that lower the concentration of ions contributing to struvite and calcium oxalate urolithiasis
  • Increasing the urine volume simultaneously reduces the saturation of urine with calcium oxalate and struvite crystals

Rated 5 out of 5 by Royal Canin Urinary SO I feed this to my pug and my yorkie. My pug had crystals in her urinary trac and the vet recommended this product and said the same food would be a good preventive measure for my yorkie. They had the regular formula and gained weight, so we switched to moderate calorie. They love it and remind me everyday when it's time to eat, because they love it so much. My pugs urinary problems have completely cleared up and my yorkie hasn't had any urinary issues, so I believe it's working as well for him! September 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Royal Canin Urinary SO Moderate calorie dry dog food The food came as promised. Very pleased with the delivery. this dry food is a great supplement to the wet food currently giving. Since my dog was used to a variety of foods in his diet, this food has helped to replace some of those avoided foods now. We will continue to provide this food as long as our Vet recommends it. Rated 2 out of 5 by THE PRODUCT HAS NICE BAG, BUT DOES NOT RECLOSE WELL AT ALLLECTIK I LIKED THAT THE BAG CAME SHRINKED. IT ALL APEARED TO BE IN REASONABLE SHAPE. BUT MY DOG DOES NOT LIKE THE TASTE AN REFUSES TO EAT. ONLY EATS SOME IF STARVE HIM FOR A DAY OR TWO. THE SMELL COMPARING IT WITH ANY! OTHER DOG FOOD IS NOT AT ALL REASONABLE TO ME AN MY DOG. MY DOG ALWAYS IS WANTING FOOD AND HAS A GOOD APPETITE. HES MORE TOLERANT OF THE CANNED FOOD, BUT THE VET PREFERS HE EATS THE DRY FOOD. September 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by urinary tract SO canine moderate calorie great product! Vet prescription to prevent crystals in mature dog's urine! September 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Dogs love the taste! I don't know what is in this food but my two dogs that do not need to be on a veterinary diet are crazy about this food! It must be good stuff! September 10, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by seems to be good food Well the food seems to be pretty good, but my old dog is having a tough time getting used to it. I mixed it in with some of her old food and she still won't eat the dry food without some of the old brand in there too. I know she will get used to it. She has less digestive issues with the new dry dog food. September 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by A MUST for my female Pug. My female Pug eats both the dry and canned Royal Canine S/O. We were low on the dry kibble. Your price is much lower than I pay at the Vet. I am going to check the price I pay at the Vet for the wet cans. If it is cheaper, expect us to order from you! This prescription diet is NOT cheap! September 7, 2016
