Description

Lower urinary tract disease (LUTD) refers to a group of disorders that commonly leads to irritation of the urinary tract and corresponding undesirable clinical signs.

What causes Lower Urinary Tract Disease? In dogs, bacterial infections of the urinary tract and the presence of stones (uroliths) in the urinary tract are the most common causes. This diet promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.

Key Benefits

  • Canine Urinary SO Small Dog is a complete and balanced diet specifically designed for small breed adult dogs at risk of developing lower urinary tract disease. It is formulated to aid in the nutritional management of calcium oxalate and struvite urolithiasis.
  • Low Relative Super Saturation (RSS) technology predicts the crystallization potential of urine and is used to develop our diets to decrease the risk of struvite and calcium oxalate crystal and stone formation
  • Tasty dry dog food also dilutes urine to help prevent struvite and calcium oxalate stones
  • Royal Canin Urinary SO® Index promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals
  • Contains nutrients to support healthy teeth

My little Louie, a shitzu, had surgery to remove stones from his bladder. At 14 yrs old he's a fighter so I knew he would be okay! Now the problem, a new dog food, so I was in for a fight, but guess what.... Louie loved it so it made my job so easy to be sure he ate the required prescribed dog food. Would recommend this to everyone!

Was not able to buy from our vet due to the place they ordered from was hacked. My shitzu/yorkie has been on this for a couple months as is doing great due to this dog food. Here I am able to buy for smaller dog as where vet was larger kibble. Good price and able to do automatic shipment to my door... love it!

  • Dogs loved it

I had to purchase this for one of my 5 dachshunds. Because I free feed my pets, I was afraid none of them would like it. You know how pets can be when they are prescribed a food. Well all 5 loved it and I'm already out. Wish the small breed food had bigger bags

  • Healthy and Great flavor!

Both our older and younger dog love this kibble! Our older dog requires it but the younger dog supplements her puppy kibble with some of the Urinary diet and loves it as well.

  • Baby Buck Wild thanks you

Baby Buck the beagle has been on this food for a few years now. I mix the healthy weight and regular to give me variety. I don't think he cares. He loves his food. And I love the awesome customer service chewy.com provides. I recommend chewy.com often to friends. I can't say enough good things about them.

  • She loves her new food

    By on

My Pekingese has had bladder stones and she has to eat a urinary care specific diet. She was on Hills for sometime and she would always leave some in her bowl. I happened to mention it and a veterinarian told me that Royal Canin was more palatable. I just got it for her and she eats every bit! I even ordered the RC urinary care treats. They are delicious to her, but they are difficult for me to break into. I use a large twist-type pill crusher and it works great to break them to give to my small dog. Ask your vet about switching if your dog doesn't like it's urinary care food. I'm so glad I did, my lil girl is happy!

My dog loves this food. She has had bladder stone surgery. She had three the size of marbles. I like the price over her other food she was on. Plus my vet highly recommends this brand of food.
