Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Hydrolyzed Protein Small Dog Dry Dog Food is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 59.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from This is going to sound crazy, but my dog seems to have something against the small bites I absolutely do not think there is anything wrong with this food; the only reason I am not giving it a 4 or 5 is because I have a hard time getting my prima dona dog, Cappy, to eat it. He loves the regular size, but we are on our first bag of the small dog and he picks and picks at it and most of the time will not finish his breakfast, even though I am now feeding under the recommended amount due to him refusing to eat all of it, and eats his dinner, although he doesn't eat it with enthusiasm, like my other dog does with his dog food (his stomach is not as sensitive so he's on Acana). I am going back to the regular Hydrolyzed Protein as soon as we finish this bag because he doesn't eat it unless he has to and I have to watch my other dog to make sure he doesn't eat it for dessert. The reason I got the small bite is the vet said the smaller bites would be better for his teeth, but if he won't eat it, it really doesn't matter. However, I think the problem lies with my dog, not the food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for allergy & bladder stone prevention My yorkie has severe allergies. He's on serum, 2 scripts, prescription food and a weekly bath. A few months ago he had to have surgery for bladder stones. After testing the stones his food had to be changed. I was beside myself as we had already gone thru 2 years of battling his allergies and finally he was on a good program that worked for him. I tried 2 other prescription foods designed for stone prevention but both made his allergies worse. Finally we went back to his Royal Canin Diet but the food designed for small dogs. He loves it and the kibble bites are nice & small for his little mouth. I highly recommend this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for older allergic dogs I have had to change my dogs food several times in his lifetime. He will be 14 in February. He always builds up an allergy to the different proteins. This one does the trick

Rated 5 out of 5 by from QUICK RESPONSE Have been purchasing the Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein dry and wet food from my vet - much higher cost!! Dogs had terrible skin rash, itching like crazy, biting the hair off their legs. this product has been a miracle. So far, a 95% improvement. Vet thinks it's a food allergy, so took dogs off of everything except the hydroz protein. And they love eating it. Saved $ by buying it thru And, the delivery was incredibly fast. Signed up for the autoship - this is a great product for dogs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vet recommended, palatable to my Yorkies This food was recommended by my vet for my Yorkie who is a liver shunt survivor after he suffered an unexpected bout of pancreatitis a year after his surgery. Evidently new research shows they are vulnerable for an undetermined period. The small bite version is especially nice for my little guy. I love getting it from because my vet has a hard time getting the small bite size and Chewy sends it right out!
