My pupper Mia (a chihuahua-rat terrier mix) suffered from pancreatitis one too many times. Frustrated that vets couldn't really help her (meds and changes of food repeatedly), I decided to boil chicken and rice in the meantime while searching for a great website that sells low fat gastro friendly dry foods. As many of you can imagine, Royal canin Gastro is very difficult to find online. I came across Chewy and was blown away. Now I can order Mia's food without having to worry over a vet visit. She no longer vomits blood and her stools are no longer bloody as well. She is perfectly healthy and this dog food is the only one that helps her. Hearing a diagnosis of pancreatitis for your extremely sick dog is frightening, especially when you're leaving to take her home after hours of tests and emergency measures, and the vet advises you she might need a 24-7 dog facility during the course of the night. Thankfully, she made back to the vet the next morning, a little wobbly, but on the mend. After considerable research and a check with the vet, I decided to go with Royal Canin Gastrointestinal, She loves it, is thriving on it, and is back to play and mischief! This product required a vet's prescription, and the people at Chewy helped to get that through ASAP. Also, their delivery came right on time. I have a sick dog who needs prescription food for pancreatitis (sp?). The food she was on is no longer available, so we went for the Royal Canin prescription. She loves loves this food!! She eats it like it's going out of style! I was worried she wouldn't like a new food but this one she can't get enough of. And knowing Chew.com is there to deliver the food beyond fast and with tremendous customer service, make my whole experience with Chewy a pleasure!!

  • This product has helped my dog tremendously

My dog is about 10 years old. She was very sick and had diarrhea and wasn't even interested in eating at that point. So I took her to the vet and they couldn't find anything wrong. I took in a stool sample and all they found was that it was fatty. The vet asked me what kind of dog food I was feeding her, it was Purina One, so they prescribed the Gastrointestinal dog food. She has been doing well ever since. The vet did not have any available on hand when I ran out, which is when I ordered from Chewy.com. It arrived the next day. Thank you very much and I will definitely order from you all again. The vet only carried the 17.6 lb bags of food, you have the bigger bag. Thank you again. Paws out My dog is about 10 years old. After my Pug recently had a second severe episode of pancreatitis, the vet told me it was time to go on a veterinary low fat diet. I was not enthused. My pug is a rather picky eater and has resisted any food changes. The veterinarian technician mentioned that he liked the kibble she had tried on him after he rejected her first few offerings of other foods. My Pug? Kibble? He has eaten can food for 13 years. I asked her what brand and she told me Royal Canin. Liked is an understatement. He loves this food. He devours every kibble I put in his bowl and barks for more after he finishes. I can't believe this is my dog. • Great first experience

We bought this food recommended by our vet. It required a prescription in order to purchase it but Chewy made the process very easy. Chewy's price was significantly less than local retail stores. Delivery was free and only took 2 days. This was the first time we used Chewy and we were impressed with the service

  • My dog is happy and healthy again thanks to this product!

    By on

My 13 year old Carin Terrier was having a lot of gastrointestinal issues with several bouts of vomiting and diarrhea. I would put her on boiled rice and boiled chicken and she would be okay but every time I tried to switch her back to her usual kibble she would get sick again. My vet suggested that I put her on Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal Low Fat. I was terrified that she would get sick again but she's been doing great and she absolutely loves the food! I am so happy that we made the switch!

  • Switch Worked for Frankie

We had our doggie on a DCO Vet prescribed diet - eating the same for 9.5 years. All of a sudden she became very ill. After trying a few things to get her feeling better, we were recommended the Royal Canin brand. After a discussion with our Vet who recommended the Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Low Fat, our little baby is back to herself with NO issues again. It's easy to order from Chewy.com who contacted our Vet for the approval - getting it shipped to our doorstep was great! Highly recommend!

  • Our Great Danes LOVE Royal Canin GI Formula

    By on

Great Danes have particularly sensitive GI systems. Our first GD had multiple visits to the vet due to this...our vet always recommended Royal Canin GI as a transition from rice an chicken, which proved to be gentle and just what was needed. Our second GD is an especially finicky eater...we add this to her regular food, along with some Royal Canin GI canned food, occasionally adding some freeze dried beef treats and viola she eats it all!! Needless to say, we are never without Royal Canin GI food in our home!

  • Perfect for any dog with digestion issues

    By on

My dog's vet put him on this food about a year ago after a bout with pancreatitis...he seemed to be having trouble digesting fatty foods, although his regular dog food was not high in fat content...then he wound up needling to have surgery to remove his gall bladder last October, and he remains on this food and the same formula in canned food as well...thankfully he loves it!
