This gastrointestinal diet is formulated to help maintain the balance of gastrointestinal microflora and intestinal mucosal integrity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Product keeps my 11 Year Old Doxie Kayak Queen Fit, Trim and Active I combine this hard food with the SAME brand/kind of canned dog food. I do this so her diet will not be 100% hard or soft, but a combined blend of the SAME brand/kind thereof. All low-fat, gastro-intestinal does keep my Doxie in excellent health. It also keeps her digestive tract healthy from input to "output". Both her overall health and energy have improved on this dog food. Her past horrible skin issues are almost non existing: since it was only her diet that changed, I can't help but think it must be related? She is definitely in better health now than she was for years before. She's really enjoying life ( I love her so and love seeing her healthy, active, running-around and alert at 11 years of age) Lastly, feeding her is fast and easy. She loves this dog food and doesn't seem to tire of it. Am hoping for more years with my "Kayak Partner" ..... she's the beat and I want the best for her, too, including what she consumes. Rated 5 out of 5 by A very honest review! I have a pit/lab mix who is my entire world and a few months ago she started vomiting blood, long story short she had some intestinal issues that apparently was fairly common but also very fatal. she had been pretty healthy up until then at 6 years old... I thought that's it I was going to loose her, but with great doctors and putting her on this food only it saved her life. I do reviews every once in a while but I thought this was important enough to write... It has now been 6 months and she is on this product only both dry and wet and is happy and healthy. When I saw the ingredients I was honestly confused because everything I was ever told or read said to avoid many of these ingredients, but listen if you really trust your vet trust they are giving you the best information. I am blessed with my dog because I listened and couldn't be more thankful. chewy is so awesome too, get everything delivered and make sure I'm always satisfied with my purchase!! August 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Must be tasty. Dog eats it. Vet recommended product when my dog developed pancreatitis and later when he developed diabetes. Dog seems to enjoy eating it and to me that's a good sign. His stool remains firm unless he gets into the cat's food or eats anything else. Seems to be a good source of nutrition for any dog with gastrointestinal problems. October 29, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best food ever We recently adopted a lab who had digestion issues. After lots of vet visits we learned that our dog could only eat small amounts of food throughout the day. After trying other brands for sensitive stomachs etc. This was the only brand that didn't make our dog vomit. We are a month into it and haven't had one episode. October 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by I use both the wet and dry food my dog has been very ill, had a massive infection. Lost alot of weight. very nauseous. diarrhea(diaherria was caused by another food) we almost lost him -- he was so ill. Royal Canin GI Low Fat has been easy on his stomach and I think the low fat additionally made the food easier on his stomach too. While he was barely eating --I was feeding his meds inside a small amount of RC GI LF wet food then 1/4 can --1/2 can of the wet food. Small amounts of the wet food offered many times a day. Diaherria stopped, vomitting stopped and he would eat and hold down the food. I have now been feeding RC/GI/LF dry food 4 x a day ( smaller amounts) and his medication in a ball of RC GI LF wet food . he has gained his weight back now. He is still not competely well. he is still having a problem and we are testing to find the problem , but the fact that he was gained his weight back and is eating again has made him much stronger!! and has given us time to culture and test and find what medication will kill the infection.
