As much as your dog loves food, certain foods can cause bad reactions, which can be harmful for your pet. Itchy skin and upset stomachs are sometimes triggered by commonly-used ingredients in many types of dog foods and if your dog is experiencing these issues, his or her veterinarian may prescribe Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Selected Protein Adult PV (Potato & Venison) Canned Dog Food (formerly Hypoallergenic Selected Protein). This prescription diet is made with delicious potato and lean venison – chosen specifically because these foods are rarely associated with allergic reactions. While your dog chows down on Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Selected Protein Adult PV Canned Dog Food, you will notice a significant change in the appearance of his or her skin and coat, due to added B vitamins and fatty acids, nutrients essential for conditioning the skin for protection against itching and inflammation. The insides of your furry friend will not be the only thing benefitting from this delicious food!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Product excellent - Chewy is the best! I love Chewy for their selection and their amazing customer service. I had ordered the wrong food and they sent me the correct one without a hassle. Thank you Chewy - you've got one loyal customer now! October 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Only dog food I would give my 12 yr old rescue dog We adopted an older (11+ year?) LARGE standard poodle from a rescue organization. He was in a "kill" shelter and saved by some veterinary students. Right after we got him home he had a bout of Pancreatitis. A second round of Pancreatitis followed about a month later. (My guess is that the previous owners who abandoned him didn't want a sick dog or couldn't afford the treatment or special foods that he required.) The vet at the animal hospital found some liver and intestinal problems and removed his spleen because of a benign mass they found. Afterward they put him on this Royal Canin Hypoallergenic PV dog food. and I can't say for 100% certainty that it is just the food, but we haven't had any more problems. It's expensive but a LOT less expensive than the emergency trips to the animal hospital. Attached is a picture of him eating it this morning. Its the only food he gets, other than Hypoallergentic treats (Hills Prescription Diet Hypoallergenic) ), and after almost a year, he still likes it July 26, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect kernel size Food has helped my Cocker a great deal. The Dermatologist recommended this food and we have been giving this prescription for while now. Her hair is glowing and growing back too. We also are impressed on how CHEWY.COM was able to deliver foods within 2 days. Much faster than us going to Vet to wait for their delivery. Plus the shipping of is Fabulous boxes are all sturdier than any I've ever seen. All our other orders arrived same day too 4 large boxes. August 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Partnership! My dog a food allergy and has to eat a specific prescription food. Her food is only sold in a few clinics, none of which are near my home. Thanks to the wonderful partnership between Royal Canin and, I don't have to worry about going across town to a special clinic to obtain this food! Thank you! August 3, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not for very sensitive dogs We were prescribed this by our vet for our two year old Shar Pei because we're dealing with allergies that present as skin issues and vomiting. I don't traditionally like kibble or food that comes from big companies like Mars Petcare, the same people that make Pedigree, Cesar and Nutro, among others. Anyway, so many reasons not to like this food before I fed it to my very delicate Shar Pei, but we've been feeding for over two weeks and her stools are loose and we've been getting up in the middle of the night because of her upset tummy. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone because I don't think the ingredients are good and I don't think there is care at all in the production of this product. We are going back to The Honest Kitchen and getting a full allergy panel done so we don't have any more issues with food (or environmental issues). I do, however, LOVE!!! Xoxo February 6, 2016
