Instructions

For coats with mats or tangles, use a comb or rake to detangle the hair prior to brushing. Starting at the head, move toward the tail, then down the legs using long strokes that follow the direction of hair growth. The pin brush can also be used to fluff the coat by brushing against the direction of hair growth.

  • Great brush for the price! (Old wooden design)

    By on

[Bought large size for 3 month old GSD/Husky] Bought this brush in the large size because it was cheaper, so why not? It's pretty large for a baby but my pup grew into it quickly. I love the wire pin side which is great for removing tangles and smoothing out fur. I use the bristle side sometimes, but I find that the pin side works fine on its own. Now 2.5 months later, I still try to use this brush daily when I'm not using the FURminator deShedding Edge 1-2x a week to keep my pup's fur healthy & beautiful. They seem to have a new design for the Safari brushes and the pins appear to not have the extra rounded tip that they used to, but hopefully its functionality is the same. • Best Brush EVER!

    By on

I have been a German Shepherd owner since 1995....German Shepherds shed...they shed ALOT! This brush is a home run!! In no uncertain terms this is the BEST grooming brush I have come across. It arrived in the mail today and I began the test process. My GSD did not want me to stop brushing her....she is usually done after a few minutes. Tons of fur came off even though she is brushed regularly...I will recycle her fur by donating to the wild to use for insulation for the upcoming winter season. Highest recommendations for this brush for your double coated fur babies!

  • Great brush!!

    By on

I bought this brush for my puppy that is going to grow into a wirey outer coat and soft and fluffy inner coat. I felt that it would work well with eliminating and Removing tangles in his coat. While he is still a puppy and his hair is still very short, I think this brush will do exactly what I bought it for. I use the soft side right now to lightly brush dirt out of his hair. It's a sturdy/durable brush that I look forward to using on him as an adult!! I definitely recommend this brush!

  • OOOHHHH-please brush me more, says the Woofie!

    By on Top 500 Contributor

Cassia Cuervo, my German Shepherd Dog, LOVES this brush. (We have the wooden handle design one) The wire side does a good job of removing loose undercoat, in conjunction with the Furminator. GSD's topcoat is so dense, that the bristle brush never penetrates the coat, but is good at dusting off loose hairs & dirt-not great for that, but with such a dense coat, I think this is the best one can expect, so I am pleased.

  • Great brush! But Beware of the metal side!

    By on

Works great! But the metal side is like nails... so you have to be extremely careful when using that side on your doggie AND watch out for your hands too! When cleaning the metal side be careful with your hands and under nails, as the spikes are so sharp you can easily stab yourself!

  • Dog loves it, I love it

    By on

I have the old wooden brush and it works just fine. My dog adores being brushed which makes me very happy! She does have very short hair so I do think it would work better with longer haired dogs but despite her short hair it does its job.

  • she loves it

When Molly sees me pick up the brush she comes right to me. I think she would let me brush her all day. Everyone asks if I bathed her. Truth is the brush takes dirt away. Love love love this brush.

  • Not practical for long hair dogs

    By on

This wasn't the best buy, not really made for thick long hair-the best brush I have found is the furrminator-gets snarls out and works great, this just doesn't do much at all

  • good quality brush

    By on

it's a good brush with both hard and soft bristles. however the soft side is a little to dense for my GSD's hair.
