Additional Tips

  • Read the label completely: As with medications for humans, carefully read and follow all label instructions thoroughly before purchase and application.
  • Weigh your pet: Don’t guess! Be sure to weigh your pet to ensure that your animal’s weight matches the dosage listed on the product package.
  • Only apply product intended for your pet’s species: Never use a flea and tick treatment and prevention product intended for dogs on a cat and vice versa.
  • Avoid double dosing: Our squeeze-on products are designed to work alone and NOT in combination with other flea and tick control products. Check the product label of the flea and tick treatment used prior to ensure the recommended time has passed since the last application of any product before applying a new product.
  • Separate multiple pets: Separating pets ensures that the flea and tick treatment doesn’t rub off or pets lick the product off each other. As with any flea and tick treatment and prevention squeeze-on, even the smallest amount of product that gets into a dog’s or cat’s mouth can cause drooling or foaming — and in rare cases can result in death.
  • Do NOT divide tube doses between multiple animals: For example, do not use half a dose made for a 40-lb. dog on a 20-lb. dog. Also, do not combine two tubes of a lower weight break for a larger dog. Always use the full tube on the pet per the product’s application guidelines.
  • Remove product tubes from packaging.
  • Separate one tube from the others.
  • Hold the tube with notched end pointing up and away from the face and body. Use scissors to cut off the narrow end at the notches.
  • Invert tube over dog and use open end to part the dog’s hair.
  • Apply as a spot to the dog’s back between the shoulder blades.
  • Squeeze tube firmly to apply all of the solution to the dog’s skin.

  • All 3 dogs still have fleas

    By on

I found this product to be useless. It is packaged sloppily, no inserts, no instructions, just 3 plastic vials of useless "medication". I have 2 older dogs and 1 pup, all at the lowest end of the weight scale, all still have fleas. My advice... Buy a different product if your goal is to kill fleas.

  • Unsure if it works or not

    By on

I have three dogs. One of them was really scratching to the point of making some sores. Then I noticed the other two beginning to scratch. I purchased the FiproGuard and put it on all three. Two weeks later, they are all three still scratching. I bathed the worst of the three with a dry skin shampoo from the vet. It hasn't seemed to relieve her yet. I am taking her to the vet tonight and I will let him take a look at her. So I can't say if the FiproGuard worked or not.

  • Does not seem to work

    By on

I ordered this product reluctantly as my usual brand of flea/tick preventative was not available and it does not seem to be working for my pets. I have found numerous fleas on both of my dogs, despite treating them with this preventative for several consecutive months now.

  • great service, great products

    By on

Since I ordered the flea and tick medication, which I received in less than 48 hours, I have also ordered food, treats and a bone. I place the order in the afternoon on Wednesday and received it Thursday. Wonderful service, great products and the best prices and free shipping. We will be lifelong customers!

  • Very good

    By on

I am pleased with my Sentry FiproGuard for dogs, my dog tolerates it well, no allergic reaction on the skin after use, dries within a reasonable amount of time. The price is reasonable but the main thing is that it does the job and I love CHEWY.

  • Smells good to humans, really annoys the dog

    By on

Fipro is a good chemical for killing fleas and ticks, same as the big name brands. But this smells all flowery and has a heavy scent. My dog went into the same behavior as when she was sprayed by a skunk, that is, she spent the next five minutes rolling and pushing herself along the ground to clean it off. That worked with the skunk spray, so we'll see if there's any Fiipro left on her to work. I got it right onto her skin under her coat so it should be OK, otherwise this was a bust! :-)

Applied twice following the directions. Does not kill fleas as advertised on my 20lb Jack Russel that doesn't go in water

  • Improvements Needed

    By on

Compared to other fipronil-containing products, the cartridges contain much more liquid for a given size of dog which makes confining the liquid to the application locations difficult. It also dries to a powdery white streak hat extends as far as the liquid is able to reach. The packaging is flimsy and in the first two cartridges I opened for my two dogs, one was empty and had no liquid in it. Hopefully it works to repel ticks (too soon to tell), but this product could certainly use improvement.

  • Works just as well as Frontline

    By on

It's been such a relief to discover this product -- I know I can give my dog the protection of Frontline at a fraction of the cost. I have been using this product for years and it has kept my dog flea and tick-free. It dries quickly and doesn't leave an oily residue. Highly recommended.

  • Not bad for price

    By on

Have used frontline and activyl, both $$$. Trying this product. So far a flea or two but they were sluggish. Plus no eggs or flea poop and no ticks!! We live in the country so ticks are a major problem.
