  • Clicker Dog Training - ????

    By on

Unfortunately it did not work for me. My dog just ignored the clicker and tried to chew on it. But I think if you start early on about 2 months or so, it would definitely work. My pup is 8 months old and set in his ways. We only adopted him when he was 4 1/2 months old. It didn't seem to get his attention.

  • Does it work? Can't Tell!

    By on Top 250 Contributor

Honestly, I am not even sure if the clicker does anything for my dog. It's cheap enough where I would say "Get it!" just to try it, but I think you can easily train your dogs without this clicker. With my Goldendoodle pup, we do a bit of both (use the clicker for tricks, use praise for going potty outside and etc). She listens to both forms of training easily. I think I use the clicker more for my enjoyment (I think it's fun), but who knows if it does anything for her! I'd say try it because the price is cheap, but you don't absolutely NEED this item to succeed in training!

  • Using this for cats is a mixed bag

    By on

I did buy this to work on training my cats, which I wasn't sure how that was going to go. One of my cats does not like the noise it makes (it's fairly loud), and will eat a treat or two but then walk away uninterested. One cat took to it immediately, and learns new tricks fairly quickly... he even gets excited to see it. It's a nice small size where I can hold it and treats in my hand unobtrusively. It would also be easy to pack any time we need to travel. I do wish it came with a small chain or something where I can attach it.

  • Clicker seems great. Durability is questionable?

    By on

I've been using this clicker for around a month or so. I like the sound and feel of the clicker. However, the orange button broke off. I don't believe I've done anything out of the ordinary, certainly have not abused, dropped, or been rough with the clicker. I'm need another clicker (not sure which brand), but not sure if longevity is typical with this particular brand. Tried to upload picture, but wouldn't load...

  • Great Training Aid

    By on

I have never used this type of training aid before and had successfully trained other dogs without it. However, recently, we brought home a rescue that was extremely timid around people. He seemed to know some basic commands such as sit, down, but really wasn't responding to much else. After a few weeks of decompression, and another few weeks of using the clicker, he seems to have progressed quite nicely for a pup in his situation. I had my doubts that this would work but I was surprised how easily he picked up on what I was doing, expecting from him.

  • Works Great

    By on

Comfortable to hold. Easy to click. My dog seems to be responding well to it. I suspect that the change in behavior will be up to how consistently I use this clicker.

  • Clicker training works!

    By on

I have a very energetic Schipperke puppy. They are a very independent breed that will train you if you fail to train them. At 4 mo. she quickly learned to sit and to come to me outside when click rewarded with a bit of kibble. I used the book "When Pigs Fly" to train myself on use of clicker. Good book.

  • Can't live without my clicker

    By on

How in the world do people train their pup without one of these? SUCH a lifesaver, we bought 3 of them so we always have one handy for our pups good behavior. We taught our golden doodle puppy how to sit, stay, paw, and rollover in the matter of a few days. great purchase and love the price!
