Raw Nutrition

Stella & Chewy's Freeze-Dried Raw Dinner Patties offer the easiest solution for pet parents to introduce raw food to their dog's mealtime routine. If you don't have time to prepare fresh raw foods or to wait for frozen food to thaw, freeze-dried is the best answer. And to meet all of your dog's nutritional needs, they're formulated with added vitamins and minerals, probiotics and antioxidants.

The Prey Model Diet

It's only natural that your dog craves real meat—his body is designed to eat a diet that relies heavily on it. Stella & Chewy's makes it easy to feed your domesticated canine friend this prey model diet. Each recipe has 90-95% meat, nutrient-rich organs and bone, and there are no added hormones or antibiotics. You can serve it as is, or crumble and rehydrate the patties. In just a matter of minutes, you'll have a wholesome, protein-rich dinner for your hungry pooch.

Raw Feeding Helps:

Pure and Simple Raw Nutrition

Minimal Processing,
Maximum Flavor

Heavy processing of ingredients can diminish the nutritional value. But with freeze-dried, the end product still retains its beneficial nutrients. Frozen raw patties go into a freeze-dryer to remove moisture without ever applying heat or letting them thaw. So they come out with all the flavor, vitamins, minerals, omegas and amino acids they went in with. Plus, you'll never have to keep it in the freezer or defrost it.

Safety Technology

Food safety is always a concern, especially with raw foods. Stella & Chewy's takes every precaution with their SecureByNature food safety process that's recognized by the USDA and FDA. The ingredients undergo a special, 100% natural cold-press process that creates water pressure similar to that found near the ocean's floor. No harmful bacteria can survive, and there's no heat to damage nutrients and diminish flavor. Each batch is tested by an independent lab, and the results are even posted online for you to see.

Ethically Sourced Ingredients

Stella & Chewy's sources everything that goes into your pet's food from reputable suppliers that guarantee the integrity of the ingredients. Meat, poultry and fish are responsibly sourced from all over the world. The wholesome fruit and vegetables are certified organic, and nothing comes from China.

About Stella & Chewy's

The story of Stella & Chewy's starts with two lucky rescue dogs named Stella and Chewy—and Chewy was a pretty sick pup. Their new pet parent, Marie Moody, started both of her new family members on a raw diet, and she watched them thrive. Eager to bring the same amazing prey model diet to other pets, Marie soon developed innovative food safety measures to create her own version of raw pet food—the Stella & Chewy's frozen and freeze-dried dinners and mixers that you know and love.

I had stress scans done on both dogs. Rabbit was a protein that both were NOT allergic to. They loved these toppers. And best part is that the pups had no reactions so they will be a permanent addition to our menu

  • Picky Eaters and they Love it!!

    By on

Our 3 year old Wheaten Terrier developed a serious condition called Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and we were told that we had to switch him to a novel protein, rabbit. I found this food on Chewy, and to our amazement, he loves it! We also switched our 6 year old Wheaten. They were both the worst, pickiest eaters, and now, attack the food with eagerness! I highly recommend it.

  • My tiny dogs love these!

I used to feed my dogs the RAW / BARF diet, and have gotten lazier and lazier over time. Now, I feed these in combination with other Stella & Chewy dinner patty types. It's such a good solution to feeding super healthy, meat-centric meals without worrying about prep, thawing, etc. My dogs (6 lbs. and 7lbs.) LOVE these patties. In fact, they know the word "patties" means dinner time, lol. They're so small that they each get just 1 patty as a meal, crumbled with warm water added to reconstitute it. So a bag (admittedly expensive) lasts a pretty good long time. I highly recommend these.

  • Thrilled with this brand

    By on

My almost 16 year old dog (who is sensitive to most foods, and picky about most foods) loves this brand. The rabbit is great because it doesn't contain the normal foods that dogs are allergic to. The only reason for a 4 Star is because it's so expensive.

  • Allergy dog's Nutriscan indicated rabbit

I always love how easy Chewy is and the fast delivery - 5 stars to this website every time! Great product to have on hand for convenience if you feed raw. My dog's Nutriscan food sensitivities saliva test showed the best protein option as rabbit. I've bought S&C frozen patties for several years in beef, lamb and surf & turf and appreciate the high quality ingredients. Rabbit is something new for me and I'm glad S&C has single protein since many rabbit products have a combination. Downside is rabbit is much more expensive than the other S&C proteins I've purchased. It is hard to always have frozen thawed and decided to give the freeze-dried a try. It is hard to always have frozen thawed and decided to give the freeze-dried a try. Both my dogs gobbled it up and licked the bowl long after it was empty! For a 40 pound dog the daily serving of this S&C is 9 patties which means the 15 ounce bag of freeze-dried is about 8 meals. The frozen S&C contains 12 meals. It costs me about 25% less to feed S&C frozen instead of this S&C freeze-dried. My 5 star is for quality, convenience and taste. However, I will buy this product only periodically to have on hand when I don't have a frozen patty thawed because it is simply too expensive an option as compared to what I pay for S&C frozen - ingredients same in both S&C varieties. … more

  • She Loves It!

This must taste great because Zoe scarfs it down in mere moments. The problem with this brand is that it is too high in fat. I only feed this occasionally to avoid an overweight puppy.

  • Perfect For The Most Finicky Dogs! If you can afford it. It's over-priced.

My dog hates food. Yet loves Stella & Chewy! It's the only food he will eat and it's expensive, much more than it should be. But it does the trick! Gets the most picky dogs eating!

  • Not just for dogs!

We use this to supplement our cat's food (warning: do not just feed this to cats as it is not designed for their needs) and she loves it. Bonus: she drinks water now which she never did before since we feed her wet food.

  • Finicky Husky

    By on

I think I own the pickiest Husky on earth (or he just enjoys torturing his mama). We've tried the chicken, beef, and rabbit, but so far the rabbit is the only one he'll eat. He'll even eat his dry kibble if I use this as a topper. So, win win I'd say.

  • One of the better ones

    By on

I have 2 French Bulldogs (1.5yrs old & 6mos) who are ridiculously picky eaters. I've had them on the highest quality puppy kibble- which was ok for a short time then they got terrible tear stains & stopped eating it. I went to freeze-dried raw with my "first born" when he was about 6mos because it was all he would eat. I've tried most of the top-rated brands, but Stella & Chewy's is their fav. We rotate through most of the Stella & Chewy's varieties & the Rabbit one is definitely one of the ones they're more excited about. My only issue is that they seem to have downgraded their packaging because our last several bags of Stella & Chewy's has had defective seals that rip off or aren't aligned I have 2 French Bulldogs (1.5yrs old & 6mos) who are ridiculously picky eaters. It's the most frustrating thing! It seems others are having the same issue because I saw it in some other reviews. Hopefully they'll fix that issue. But despite the terrible packaging, the boys do enjoy the food for the most part so I'd say it's worth a try. … more
