About Taste of the Wild Dog Food

The Diet Nature Intended

The Diet Nature Intended

They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.

Energy That Lasts

Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.

Immune System Support

Immune System Support

Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption

To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption
Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Taste of the Wild gives your pup just the right dose of omega fatty acids in every bite. Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from salmon oil, smoked salmon or ocean fish meal, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.

  • Good food for our dogs

    By on

I switched our dogs to this food from Iams because I like the ingredient list better. My dogs have had no problems transitioning to this food. My pit mix who sometimes eats/sometimes doesn't when I feed our Border Collie is always waiting by her bowl when it's mealtime now. My Border Collie has slowed down quite a bit when she eats now (she actually chews her food instead of just inhaling it), I guess because she doesn't feel like she's starving like she did with the empty fillers that are in Iams. We're still working on getting some weight off both our dogs, and I haven't really noticed a change with that, but I haven't weighed them either. Overall, my dogs seem much happier with this food I switched our dogs to this food from Iams because I like the ingredient list better. My dogs have had no problems transitioning to this food. • My dog loves this food

    By on

I have a Pomeranian Romeo he's going to be 4years old and I started him with blue buffalo but sadly I always had an issue with him eating his food cause he didn't want to eat it and I was constantly taking to the vet because of stomach issues. Since switching him over to taste of the wild I find it that he loves the food I have no problem with him not eating and I haven't had to rush him over to the vet for stomach problems. I love this brand and Romeo loves it to.

  • Healthy, Natural, and instant love

    By on

My Boxers loved this food, paws down!! We decided to go all natural, grain free with our boys. We'll never turn back. Our boys are very sensitive to dog food. This brand is excellent! Natural, grain free, and healthy. A big bonus is.. they have many different flavors to choose from. Can u imagine eating the same food ALL the time?? No! So, we decided to switch up their flavors. Our boys are lovin this!

  • YumYum: too many dogs love this stuff!

    By on

This food was meant for our GSD. Now we have to lock the garage where her bowl is to keep out the dogs of our kids who (the dogs, of course!) often play in our backyard. They try to break down the door and get to the stuff, ignoring their own bowls and trying to steal Taste of the Wild. That's a compliment for your food but a complication for us.

  • My akitas prefer this over any other type of food

    By on

After feeding my Akitas the puppy high prairie flavored Taste of the Wild I switched them to the adult Wild Pacific Stream flavor of Taste of the Wild to give them some variety. Sadly, they wouldn't touch it. This time I switched back to the High Prairie flavored adult version and they love it again. They have beautiful coats and are full of adolescent Akita energy!

  • LOVE this company and my dogs do too!

    By on

For a while I was struggling to find a healthy grain free food that my dogs wouldn't get sick of after a month. I switched so many times before I tried this brand. Well, no more switching!!! My dogs LOVE this food. Their coats look great, and I noticed one of my dogs has less digestive issues on this food because of the probiotics. I always recommend this food to my puppy parent friends!

  • Found a winner!

    By on

After our boxer's favorite food switched from being made in Canada to being made in the U.S., I didn't want to take the risk of lesser quality as I had read in reviews. I switched to another high quality food and my poor guy's sensitive tummy was always messed up. Decided to go with Taste of Wild (recommended by my sister) and it was the best decision. Didn't bother with a transition time and switched cold turkey. From the first day he was on it, his tummy has been nothing less than normal! Highly recommended!

  • My German Shepherd loves it!

    By on

When I rescued my GS, he was used to grain free chicken but his stools were not solid. When I read someone's review said it fixed that problem, I was all over it. My dog loves this dog food. I know that is not a polite topic but it makes a difference. This web site has great customer service, friendly accommodating associates.

  • Good food choice

    By on

This seems to be a good dog food for my german shepherd. He was previously on Blue Buffalo Wilderness, but then we found out he was allergic to flax, which was in that food, so we switched to this. My only complaint it that he doesn't eat it right away like he did with the Blue Buffalo.....it takes him a few minutes to start eating now.

  • Finally something she likes!

    By on

My Shepherd is (was) a picky eater, she would go a couple of days and not eat her food. With Taste of the Wild, she eats her food right away. No more worrying about her eating. Her coat shines and her teeth look so much better, not to mention her breath. If you have a picky eater, you should really consider trying this. My Roxxy is doing great and loves this food.
