The Diet Nature Intended

The Diet Nature Intended

They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.

Energy That Lasts

Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.

Immune System Support

Immune System Support

Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption

To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Taste of the Wild gives your pup just the right dose of omega fatty acids in every bite. Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from salmon oil, smoked salmon or ocean fish meal, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.

My almost 11 YO Standard Poodle is not driven by food to begin with though isn't what I would call a picky eater either (food is just not a driving force in her life), very slow eater and is now limited to a non beef, chicken, etc diet, (no grain always)--but is a very athletic active dog so needs to eat a good bit and she only eats limited amount of this. I have been feeding Dave's salmon and Canidae's salmon/fish canned but Canidae is temporarily OS (I hope) so took Chewy up on choosing a different food. My 3 YO Cavalier King Charles will eat anything (and everything LOL) and is limited to 1/4 cup dry 2x and 1 T canned 2x and likes it, but Molly (SP) licks the gravy off and will very slowly My almost 11 YO Standard Poodle is not driven by food to begin with though isn't what I would call a picky eater either (food is just not a driving force in her life), very slow eater and is now limited to a non beef, chicken, etc diet, (no grain always)--but is a very athletic active dog so needs to eat a good bit and she only eats limited amount of this. I started mixing 1/2 and 1/2 with Dave's to get her to eat more. I don't think there is a thing wrong with the food, but for any others with dogs that prefer a paté type food, this will not do--quite firm chunks that don't even mash easily. I will use the 2 cases and not order more. BTW I am feeding their Dry in place of Fromm's Tunalini now discontinued with Chewy and though they both eat limited dry, they seem to like its texture and size. … more

  • Taste of the Wild Salmon

    By on

My dogs do wonderfully on this food. Their coats are shiny and soft. I have two german shepherds, one male tan/black and a white female. The female has always had skin allergies and digestive issues. We tried everything and found this brand (Salmon flavor) to be the only one she has been able to not only tolerate, but thrive on! They love the taste too.

  • Taste of the Wild canned dog food

    By on

Great quality food that my dogs have enjoyed for sometime now. This was my first order with Chewy and I signed up for repeat delivery. The only negative thing I have to say is that the box my order came in was twice the size it needed to be and the trays of food got bounced around and dented during shipment. A bit more care should be taken in packaging items. I ordered three cases of 12 cans and the box could have held 6 cases with no additional padding material added.

  • Clarity of ingredients

He's only had dry food previously, and he really isn't that picky. He's a dog ;). I however love that I can read online all the ingredients and make the best choices for him.

  • A big PAWS UP from Maverick!!

    By on

I'll admit my pup isn't really a fussy eater but I like to make sure he's getting good nutrition from his food. I should clarify - he isn't fussy other than he doesn't like his food all mixed together so I put about 1/5 of Taste of the Wild canned in a section of his bowl and then add the kibble to the other side. He always eats the canned FIRST and then his kibble. Even double-checks it's all gone when I go to remove his bowl ... so yes, he's lovin' it!!

It is nutritious and delectable food, I know because I can see the satisfaction look from our fur babies faces. Jessica and Britney gave great customer service and they love our babies as much as we do.

  • Love Chewy and Taste of the Wild

    By on

Ever since we switched over to a higher protein diet for our Lab, it has been so easy manage weight and see the energy he has....not to mention he LOVES the dry food flavors and CRAVES the canned versions.I give him a can on special occasions and if your fingers are near the bowl, you just might lose them in the frenzy. Chewy service is great and I get what I want when I need it.
