The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption

To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

  • Dry coat on my Golden Retriever

    By on

We adopted our now 15 month old Golden 4 months ago and his coat was soft and shiny. His owner did not have him on any particular food so we brought him home and put him on a high quality grain free food that we fed our previous Golden but for some reason this food wasn't working for him and his coat became so dry it was feeling like straw and it was falling out like crazy (didn't seem like normal shedding). After talking with a representative at Chewy we came up with replacing his current food with Taste of the Wild. I started with a 15 lb. bag to make sure it was helping his coat. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I have not used it long enough to see how soft his coat will get. … more

  • The clear favorite

    By on

I use all but the chicken based TOTW dry foods, switching off each bag, and Pacific Stream is decidedly the favorite of both my dogs. For a long time I avoided it for fear it would smell like fish, but I don't notice that at all. This flavor is also a little lower in fat, which is something both my boys could use. My Aussie was really excited about this one even before I opened the bag. I cut open just a little section of the top to give him a couple pieces, and found him later with his nose in the bag helping himself.

  • Great for my dog's allergies

    By on

I adopted my Bull Terrier 2 months ago. At the time, he was missing some hair on his chest. His foster mom said he seemed to have food allergies. During the 3 months she fostered him, she tried grain free, which helped, but didn't solve, the problem. Then someone told her about Taste of the Wild. She tried a bag of Pacific Stream and noticed the redness started to go away on Rory's stomach. By the time the first bag was gone, his hair was growing back. I've continued with the same food and his hair is all grown back. I reduced the amount his foster home was feeding, as he was losing his waistline. This food is more calorie dense than others I have fed, so you feed less. The I adopted my Bull Terrier 2 months ago. At the time, he was missing some hair on his chest. • Great food

    By on

This was the best quality food I could find for the price. I ordered the salmon flavor for our rescue greyhound, as his coat was quite dry and he had flaky skin when he first came to us. We are half way through our second bag, and I can already see an improvement in his coat/skin. He also really enjoys the food. Chewy customer service is the best.

  • Taste of the Wild

    By on

Our two younger (ages 2 and 3) dogs, one a Dalmatian and another a chocolate lab ate this food only when mixed with another brand and "flavor". It seemed like it was too strong in taste and they usually like fish as one of the ingredients in their food. The Dalmatian can be picky, but the Chocolate Lab typically isn't but was with this product

All three of my dogs love this food. I have been feeding Taste of the Wild for about a year now and my dogs could not be happier. They can't wait for feeding time and love all of the varieties of this food. They have shiny coats and lots of energy. Thanks Chewy for carrying this food and making it so easy to order straight to my house.

  • Dog with allergies

    By on

I tried numerous brands with limited ingredients for my adult standard poodle with allergies. He either still had rashes or soft/wet stools until I switched him to TOTW wild pacific stream. Also the price is great for the quality of food. As a graduate student I needed something of high quality and reasonable price. I now have an 8 month old standard poodle that's on the puppy formula of TOTW.

  • I love the cost. My dog loves the food!

    By on

I had been a die hard Pro Plan Puppy food feeder to my Golden Retriever for 2 years, but began to have misgivings when it was time to switch her over to Adult dog food. The pieces were huge! ...and I had read some information that made me want to switch her over to a grain free formula. So I had asked some friends what they fed their own dogs, and they recommended Taste of the Wild, and to make sure that I order it from Chewy.com. The pieces are much smaller, and more easily digested without expanding in her stomach. She loves the taste, and I love having the big bag delivered to my door in just 2 days with free shipping! Chewy.com was the best price, over chain and local dog food sellers. I order dog food twice a month from Chewy. With no shipping charge and fast delivery, you can't go wrong. Depending on what time I order, it usually arrives the next day. Saves me the hassle of buying locally and lugging it into the house. In addition I'm saving a few bucks! Thanks Chewy!
