Transition Instructions

When changing to Taste of the Wild, we recommend making a gradual transition over 7-10 days to help avoid possible digestive upset in sensitive pets. Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream Grain-Free Dry Dog Food is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 1319.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Both dogs love it! I've been looking for good quality dog food with salmon, grain-free, and won't break the bank! I was feeding Luke Skywalker (pitt/german shep mix)Merrick Backcountry Raw Salmon & Sweet Potato. Though he loved it, we simply can't afford it after adopting Obi Wan Kenobi, our second rescue (staffy mix). We needed something of high quality, affordable, and easy transition. After much research and reading comments (on multiple sites), we settled on try TTTW Pacific Stream. Both dogs take to it and gobble it up. Their coats are shiny and healthy, shed less, and and have less frequent (but solid) poops. I do add a little hot water and wet dog food for "gravy" on occasion to avoid food boredom. Ordering on Chewy is super easy, shipping was unbelievably fast, and prices are very comparable to other retailers. It gets challenging having to lug a 30 lb bag sometimes! Other than that, the dogs are super happy and so are we!! And yes, we're total Star Wars nerds!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dogs love it! I switched to this after one of my dogs had a strong allergic reaction to our other food. All the dogs coats lost their shine, they had dry, flaky skin and they lost their appetite. The one even broke out in hives. After switching to this they regained their appetite and ALL of them devour their food leaving nothing hehind. Their coats are shiny and smooth. The one that had broken out in hives cleared up and is already starting to regrow hair in the spots she severely thinned out. She's also put the weight back on she lost with the other food. This food is more expensive than what I used to pay but it is well worth it. After I analyzed the ingredients of this food and other foods as well as weighting the number of recalls, negative ingredients, price per pound this one was the top of the list. Another positive... I'm noy chased out of the room by the foulness of their farts anymore!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This food is just fantastic My daughter has a pitbull Saint Bernard mix. His name is Rambo, and he basically looks like a pitbull on steroids he's just huge, probably 130 pounds. All other foods have caused him such allergies that he chewed his fur right down to the skin and he was all scabbed everywhere, he chewed the pads of his feet and he was constantly itchy and uncomfortable. He lost weight, his coat was dull. And even had some fungus or something in his ears that we could not get to heal up. We switched him to Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream, and literally within one week we saw a magnificent transformation. He has put weight back on he stopped itching, his coat is beautiful he's well-muscled again, and so happy not itching he's healing well, and the best part is he only eats 3 and a half cups a day even though he's huge! before, he was going through a bag a week of 30 to 45 pound cheap food this is definitely the Cure we were looking for.. Thank you from the bottom of our Rambo loving hearts!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Dog Food!! We have been raising Labrador Retrievers for 20 years. I have tried many types of foods. The average grocery store foods from other makers don't sustain our dogs, or give them healthy coats. We started feeding them Taste of the Wild about 8 or 10 years ago. They love the Wild Pacific Stream flavor the best!! One of our labs is now 15 years old. She is allergic to chicken, the main reason we switched. She eats well and has a beautiful coat, even at her advanced age. Our other lab, Dickens, is well over 100 pounds and eats 4 cups a day, which sustains him through the day and evening. They poop less, so less clean-up. His coat is healthy, shiny, and much better managed than when on the cheap foods. I took him with me to my daughter's house when I was babysitting their Lab/German Shorthair mix. Lilly eats less than Dickens does, but poops much more. He poops once to her three. Just amazed in the difference. Taste of the Wild is the best for our dogs!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Keeps My Dogs Healthy! I worked with dogs professionally for several years. My two dogs, a 7yo husky-shepherd mix and a 3yo Pembroke Welsh Corgi, have been on this food since they were little puppies. Their health is excellent; their coats are soft. The fish and the Omega-3's are so good for them. In the entire time I've had them, I have not had a single issue with allergies, or digestive upset. The inclusion of pre-and-probiotics I'm sure lends itself to the food's overall good quality, and adds value to its price tag. And they don't need to eat heaps of it to get the excellent nutrition. A 75lb dog and a 28lb dog go through the 30lb bag in a month, compared to other brands which you need to feed them more in order to obtain the proper caloric intake. I would never feed my dogs anything other than Taste of the Wild, but I do switch up the flavors once in a while. My dogs enjoy the red and purple bags of Taste of the Wild too, and giving them something different doesn't upset THEIR stomachs, but your mileage may vary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped with Golden Retriever's skin issues I've had to take a multi faceted approach to addressing the skin problems (fungal/yeast/bacterial) infections that have plagued my Golden. I started with a grain free diet from Taste of the Wild's different choices. He liked them all (he likes to eat!) but I heard that the best choice would be the salmon based diet. So, in conjunction with a special shampoo and diligence on staying ahead of his infections, I have to say that his coat has grown back in, soft, silky and full. Before, his coat was so thin that you could see his skin, so dry that he had terrible dandruff. I realize that it's not ALL about the food, but I feel strongly that it really helped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Healthy and Happy I originally switched over to Taste of the Wild for my year old Goldendoodle after he became repeatedly sick after eating his other food. At first, I thought it was just stress, but then it continued so I switched him over to an all natural diet that had me cooking more for him than I ever would for myself. Enter Taste of the Wild. I absolutely love this food and, honestly, I'm pretty certain my dog loves it even more given his happy dance before every meal. Instead of treating meal time as a necessary evil, he bounces around dancing around his bowl an hour before meal time and then thrusts his head into that bowl with gusto I've never seen before. It's been a couple months since I've switched him over and he's gained back the weight he previously lost when sick, his coat has improved, and, most importantly, he is so much happier. I highly recommend Taste of the Wild and I know my dog does too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good overall food This is the food the breeder I purchased my puppy from used for their puppies and I didn't want to switch so I purchased the same brand. I asked my vet about the food and reviewed the nutritional content with her since it's not technically "puppy" food and she said it is still fine and has plenty of the key nutrients my puppy needs. I checked the "puppy" formula of this brand and there was not a big content difference at all. It does smell a bit fishy from the salmon. So much so my cat tried to eat it.
