About Taste of the Wild Dog Food

The Diet Nature Intended

The Diet Nature Intended

They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.

Energy That Lasts

Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.

Immune System Support

Immune System Support

Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption

To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

  • Great food

    By on

I bought this food for my 2 dogs. One 8 years old boxer mix with american bulldog and the other is 1 1/2 year old red nose pitbul. I want it a food that I could give to both my dogs. I was tired of buying 2 different kinds of food. I was a little bit concern if they would like it or not. In resume they love it. I also use it to train them as well they just love the food. I am very happy I ordered and I am very happy that chewy.com has it. Chewy has the best customer service ever.

  • Taste of the Wild sierra mountain dog food

I love this brand, my dogs coat is shiny, he's not grassy, and stools are manageable and not too often. He got the puppy brand for the first year and we just switched to this one, he loves the taste, he was getting a little tired of eating the other (puppy) one but this one has been a big hit.

  • AMAZING FOOD

    By on

I was feeding my dog another brand that was a little more pricey because I was under the impression it was healthy, boy was I wrong! He would randomly throw up every once in a while for no apparent reason. I switched him to this and he's done great! No more throwing up and he is much more interested in it than the other one!

  • My little pals love it!!

    By on

They have been eating taste of the wild small breed, which they also love, but it made their breath horrible like dead fish. That and all the other flavors have ocean fish meal and I can only assume that is what gave them the bad breath because this particular flavor doesn't have the ocean fish meal and their breath is much better. It has salmon in it, but it isn't affecting or giving them the bad breath like the small breed variety did which contained both the salmon and the fish meal.

  • EXCELLENT QUALITY

    By on

I buy this for my labrabull. It is EXCELLENT FOOD. She eats it with no complaints. You can see the different once you put your dog on this formula. The coat is shimmering, her stature is extremely healthy and you will notice that her stool also looks very healthy. I can't emphasize how great this food is. A buddy turned me on and I've never looked back. Take a look at the ingredients and you'll see your dog probably eats healthier than you! Chewy offers great service right to your door at an incredible price. You can't find this stuff else where for this cheap (and it requires a trip to the pet store).

  • Love this brand!

    By on

I've already left a five star review for this brand, just another flavor. Decided to get a new flavor so my pups could have some variety and they love this kind just as much as the last one! Chewy is so simple and efficient, so glad I found this company!

  • Switched and is a success

We recently learned that our dog has an allergy and switching to this food for all 5 of my dogs went very well. They are all actually eager to eat, everyone finishes their bowl and absolutely no digestive issues

  • Consistency high quality food

    By on

My dog loves it. High quality, grain free. She's been eating this for 6 years. She is a 10yo females, 65# mixed breed (Rhodesian Ridgeback mix). She eats only 1 cup total per day, but maintais her healthy weight. Granted she is not as active (my fault, not hers), but I would caution against overfeeding. When I switched from Natural Balance in 2010, she gained a few pounds before I realized it is more caloric.

  • Old Dog, New Food

    By on

My 14 year old pit/lab mix is a persnickety eater. And not in a good way. She would only eat Beneful. It took time and lots of nights of her being hungry before she realized how tasty Taste of the Wild food is.

  • High quality dog food, at a decent price

    By on

I have been feeding this food to my senior English setter, senior Jack Russell terrier, and middle aged beagle-Jack Russell mix, and all are in great health, have lots of energy, and really enjoy this food. Although I have tried MANY brands of dog food over the years, I have had the best results, overall, with Taste of the Wild. While my dogs are active for their ages, they are not at an age or stage where they need the higher protein or fat content of some other TOTW formulas. But they DO need grain free food, since 2 of the 3 have trouble digesting foods with lots of grain. And since 1 dog is also sensitive to chicken, all chicken-based foods are out.
