The Diet Nature Intended

They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.

Energy That Lasts

Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.

Immune System Support

Immune System Support

Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption

To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

  • Great food with good price

    By on

I've read a lot of good things about Taste of the Wild and switched from Merrick last year for my two boxers. They go wild for this food (pun intended). My older boxer sometimes wouldn't eat but with taste of the wild he scarfs down every meal. I go between Southwest Canyon and Pine Forest since these two don't have any potato products, which has been known to cause allergies to pop up. The price is also the best compared to other grain free foods of this quality.

  • Works for me...and my girl!

    By on

My Aussie has environmental and food allergies. I've tried all kinds of prescription foods to no avail. After a month on this Taste of the Wild formulation I've been able to cut her allergy meds in half. Chewy.com has excellent selections, good pricing and completely trouble-free auto shipping. Why go to the petstore and have to cart it home yourself? Very pleased!

  • Perfect for GSD's!

    By on

I have 2 dogs, a Husky and a GSD, and the shepherd is a 8-9 years old female. She had become very pickey with her eating, and developed a skin condition because of allergies. We decided to switch to this particular brand because it was recommended to us by a law enforcement friend that also has shepherd's. So far, we haven't had to throw away ANY leftover food, and both of the girls absolutely love it. A little pricey, but I love the free auto-shipping!

  • Not our first choice

    By on

I am going to make a note, not to choose this formula again. My dogs seem to like it just fine, but they are not going as firm as with the other formulas which makes it hard to pick up.

  • Grain-free at a great price

We feed our dog origin but it got so expensive that we switch to Taste of the Wild. They have many varieties to switch up flavor and taste. Would highly recommend and chewy.com has a great price.

  • My dogs weren't a fan

    By on

I've been feeding my dogs Taste or the Wild for a couple years now. I try to change up the flavor now and then. This is honestly the first one they were not interested in at all! Even my youngest boy who typically eats anything. I had just a little bit mixed in with their regular food and he either spit it out peices as he ate or wouldn't eat at all. I was surprised. And my other two just wouldn't touch it. They are usually more excited to eat when I change it up, definitely not this time. I'll have to try another flavor.

  • My non-picky English Bulldog doesn't like it.

    By on

My 7 year old English Bulldog has to have limited ingredients kibble. On each 20+ lb order of food I try to give her a Chang of taste while staying in her limited diet. We have done Go salmon and Acana lamb and apple prior to this TOTW southwest canyon. She is not a picky eater, always finishing her one cup servings....until now! This TOTW southwest canyon kibble is never finished when I feed her. She will eat a few bites and walk away for a few hours and then go back. When I give her some of the Acana or Go she still finishes them without walking away. She just doesn't like this TOTW. We have a 28 lb bag that I may end up donating if she continues to not eat it.
