  • Not for a hard,quick chewer, but

    By on

If you have a dog who chews slowly it seems to be working along with brushing their teeth. Our other dog is on a medication that makes him ravenous so he gets virtually no benefit from these chews which our veterinarian recommended to us for our dogs to chew after meals. I don't believe that we will continue to use these as they are very expensive for us to give to our dogs after meals. If you have a pet that chews easily and you have enough money to pay for these I would recommend these. BETTER THAN RAWHIDE CHEWS WHICH CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR PETS GI TRACK especially if they swallow them in large limp pieces.

  • My dog loved it but they became very hard

    By on

Hi all! So I picked this dog chews because it was among the only ones that didn't have chicken in them! :) Which my pup is allergic to. So I was excited to find such a renowned brand with this vegetarian option. My labradoodle seems to like them, the only thing is that they became hard as a rock. I dunno if I left the bag open by mistake, but I have to try to bend them a little bit so they become more flexible to be able to chew on them. My dog is a heavy chewer, big boy, and sometimes he leaves the dental chews because he just can't bite on them.

  • Hoping They Work

    By on

I'm not a veggie/organic/gluten-free person, and I wouldn't insist on that lifestyle for my dogs. Still, the ingredients and processing techniques used in rawhide chews gives me some concern. Both of my dogs have teeth issues, so I do my best to brush their teeth daily and get their teeth professionally cleaned once a year. I'm hoping these chews help the situation, but it's hard to tell. One of my dogs enjoys these chews; the other one will not eat them. Even though I buy the small chews, they seem big for a small dog. Of course, you can always cut them down. I find it odd that the Virbac veggie chews are more expensive than the rawhide ones. That makes no sense to me.

  • Not A Low Calorie Treat

    By on

We purchased the VeggiDent dog chews thinking they were lower in calories (3 kcal) than the rawhide chews. A closer look at the bag shows the calorie content is actually 3.0 kcal/gram and the net weight per chew is 25 grams. Each chew is 75 calories! Our dog likes the chews but now we know why. We do not recommend these chews for dogs that need to lose weight.

  • VOHC Approved

    By on

I try to give my dogs only products which are VOHC approved for their dental care, so I tried this. They love the product and it's less expensive Greenies which I usually give them. I will still give them Greenies but this is a nice option to change it up for them every once in awhile.

  • Great product for allergy-prone dogs!

    By on

My yorkie has several allergies and has had to go without her usual dental sticks for quite some time. I was so excited to find these C.E.T. veggie dental sticks that have safe ingredients for her. I cut them in half for her because she only weighs 7 lbs. She gets one every night as a bedtime treat and she loves them! Thanks, CHEWY for providing excellent products! Please keep the allergy related products coming!

  • Cheaper than elsewhere

    By on

Our vet got us started on these. Veggie chews are obviously better for our chubby hound than dog bones, they do a good job of keeping his teeth clean, and they are less expensive through Chewy.

  • Virbac C.E.T. Veggie Dent Tartar Control Dog Chews

    By on

Out dog loved the product and ate it so fast that we were not sure she even tased it. She loves treats and we are hoping it helps her gums and teeth. Already I notice a difference in her breathe. She gives me so many kisses, it is nice to know I don't have to smell bad breathe.

  • ...

i think dental chews are kind of gross. the majority of them have gross ingredients/things that just don't seem necessary as part of a dog's diet. however, i guess it's a trade off between dental health and gross ingredients. these seem fine. they are definitely the brand that is pushed by veterinarians. one of my dogs is happy with any treat. the other will sometimes eat these, sometimes won't. she also won't eat them unless i break them in half (she's a weirdo). they seem a decent value for the amount. i hope they help. i can't attest to whether they make that big of a difference, because they are not the only means by which i maintain their dental health.

  • This product is good but dont' expect it to get rid of tartar and bad breath.

    By on

I have bought this product before from my Vet and sometimes my dog likes it and sometimes not. It doesn't get rid of bad breath and tartar. You still need to brush your dog's teeth at least once a week. The price I paid to you is quite a savings from buying it from the Vet. Thanks.
