Transition Instructions

This food is formulated for adult, non-reproducing dogs over one year old as puppies and pregnant or nursing mothers have special nutritional requirements. It is important to slowly transition your dog from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness® each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness® CORE® by day 7.

CORE is highly palatable so your dog may tend to eat more of this food. Watch initially to see if you need to adjust regular eating patterns. Give your dog access to clean, cool fresh water at all times and feed Wellness® CORE® wet food in combination whenever possible, to increase the level of water in your dog's diet. Nutrition is the foundation of wellbeing, but be sure to give your dog plenty of love, exercise and see your veterinarian regularly!

  • Has Definitely Improved my Senior Aussie's Quality of Life!

    By on

About a year ago I noticed my Aussie (Born 12/1/05) was having a rough time getting up from a laying or sitting position. I took him into the vet and was told that he has severe arthritis in his hips. He was given prescriptions for inflammation and pain as needed and I was directed to make sure he gets Glucosamine daily. I started the search for better food to possibly aid him since the daily Glucosamine didn't seem to be making too big of a difference. I came across this food and decided to try it... our 5th bag just arrived (we go through a little over a bag in 3 weeks) and within the past week he has started to be more mobile and lively! I will continue to use this food as long as it's available! … more

  • Chewy fan all around

I must say, my puppers and I are very impressed by Chewy's shipping skills. I ordered on Thursday and received her food on Friday. The very next day!! She was one happy puppers and I a happy owner. She loves the Wellness core. Glad to say she isn't fussy. I like that it has added nutrients to ease her hip pain so she can keep on chasing that dog egg. Thank you Chewy :)

  • We switched to Wellness, then.....

    By on

I have been buying Halo dry for my dog for a few years. Lately (probably old age) I have had difficulty opening Halo's bags. I did research and chose to switch to Wellness. I bought a bag last fall and have spent some months transitioning my dog to the new food. Imagine my surprise when I bought a new bag of Wellness that I discovered they had changed packaging and I can't open this either!!My dog loves her new food and it agrees with her sensitive stomach (as did Halo) but now I am in search mode again. By the way, my husband could not open the bags either. There must be something out there for old weak senior citizens who want to keep their pet food fresh in a resealable bag.

  • Excellent quality food

    By on

I feed this product to both my Lab and Newfoundland. It is the only kibble they will eat without a topper mixed in. They have shiny coats, no allergy issues, and not a lot of waste left in my yard for two large dogs. The vet comments every visit that they clearly well fed. This is one kibble that has no chemical smell that I notice in other brands. While it's higher priced, it is well worth it in my opinion for my dogs' health.

  • Awesome food.

I know this food looks very expensive but it is so worth the price. I have a 7 yr old Cocker Spaniel that has almost exclusively been on CORE and she has never really had any vet issues. Cockers are VERY prone to ear infection and skin infections and mine has not had either. I am not very good about cleaning her ears either (sorry to say). The only time she has ever had a bad check up was when I had to buy her cheaper food and gave her pro plan. She started to show signs of an ear infection after a month on that food. I put her back on this and have never had an issue again. I took her to a new vet when I moved and the vet had to ask me how old she was because she was so healthy looking for a I know this food looks very expensive but it is so worth the price. Oh and it dramatically reduces the ummmm "out put" to be cleaned up. … more

  • Keeping it Real

    By on

My dogs are my 4-legged fur babies. I cook organic ground turkey and peas and carrots to mix in with their kibble. I have been feeding them different brands, trying to find something that works for both of them and not cause either of them gas issues. I had fed them Blue Buffalo but that caused them too much gas. My girls have shiny coats and they eat their food with gusto. I'm happy with what I'm feeding them because I know what's in that bag: all stuff I can identify!!

  • Excellent product and product delivery

    By on

Our vet told me to change to an adult food by 4 months. My lab puppy was on TofW from the breeder. She didn't care much and would leave food uneaten. Recommendations from local pet store led me to try Lotus, which she liked better than the TofW but still left some to be eaten later. Her stool were loose so I decided to change. Changed to Wellness Core and am very pleased. She devoured her food.

  • Coonhound Approved

    By on

We recently adopted a one year old coonhound mix from our local shelter. Being a first time dog owner I did plenty of research on the best food for dogs. Every article and list I combed through had this food listed so I went with it and I must say Kyle the dog certainly loves it.

Switched from Natural Balance to this food and though I thought NB was a great product, my dog did not like it. Likes this food and has had no side effects. No diarrhea or gas.
