For pregnant or nursing dogs: Since DHA is transferred to puppies in mother’s milk, we recommend feeding this during pregnancy and nursing. When pregnant, feed up to 50% more food according to body weight for 12 mos. For nursing dogs, allow her to eat at will.

Combination Feeding: If feeding with wet food, reduce dry amount by 1/3 cup for every 6 oz. of wet food.

Transition Instructions

It is important to slowly transition your puppy from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to the new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness by day 7.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Good healthy dog food and not a lot of fat Great for a growing large breed puppy. All different flavors and fresh January 12, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Switched foods I switched my pitbull mixed boxer puppy over to Wellness from another well recognized brand. My puppy had soft stool and often times had trouble in general, he would take too long and it would not come out. He would be farting an abnormal amount. I finally switched him over after a couple of months. He is now 8 months and it took him a week to adjust and his stool is normal and he does not have trouble anymore. And no more smelly farts. Wellness is great! December 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this food! My puppy is so happy with this food. His coat is soft and a lot less shedding. No gas or tummy upset. December 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wellness in the best I found Wellness about 3 years ago when we had many issues with our German Shepherd's, they have such sensitive digestive systems. Several brands we tried that were "high end" made them sick and the fur balls were terrible! One of the pups had big chucks of fur missing! One of ours is totally black, she has the most beautiful glossy fur on Wellness. I had no issues when we brought the latest member of our family home, another GSD, on day one I started her on Wellness! I will never buy anything else, Wellness food and treat are the only thing in this home! December 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome food My puppy loves this. We have been using Wellness for years with our other dogs and are equally pleased with the large breed puppy food as well. Great nutrition, awesome price and our puppy loves it. December 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great amazing My Newfoundland loves this food it's amazing and it has amazing ingredients and it is a high-quality food… And my dog picky eater so if he likes it your dog must like it! December 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by better for large breed My pup didn't seem satisfied with regular puppy food so my vet recommended a large breed puppy food. This has made a big difference for us. Since my pup has grown so fast this food seems to satisfy her better than non-large breed food. November 17, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Golden Pup Never Adjusted I switched over from Diamond Natural to Wellness (both were recommended by vet but my dog got sick of Diamond). He had very soft stool in the beginning, which I chalked it up to be a product of adjusting his food. He's been on Wellness for about a month now, but after ruling out all other factors, I stopped feeding it to him (still have around 1/4 of the bag left..) and switched over to soft food for the time being and haven't had issues with soft stool since! I think food works on an individual basis especially for pups with their sensitive stomachs. October 29, 2016
