My vet told me NOT to give my cat raw lean chopped beef & instead but this stuff. Flynn, my Burmese cat, would not touch it so I had to return it. So now he is eating albacore tuna & some blue buffalo dry food. None of the freeze dried food worked for him. However, I think it is a good thing for cats that will eat it.

Our Vet recommended these for our dog and we have been purchasing these from Wysong. However we found that Chewy has better prices particularly when you consider the favorable shipping terms.

by BeagleLady superb addition or substitute for a meal
I love Archetype Burgers. I don't like to eat the same thing every meal, I like to change up the protein my dogs get, and give them a more natural, yet safe food in their diet. Archetype Burgers does all this. I mostly use the Burgers as a supplement to a kibble ration , which I then reduce for that meal. I crumble them up in the bowls, add water, and let "cook," OR crumble up in its own bowl, add warm water, and cook for about 1/2-1 hr. This makes not only a savory, raw food but an au jus to pour over your kibble. A caveat with any raw food is to wash your hands and the bowls well with soap and water; good raw food has no preservatives. Archetype Burgers are among the best.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Lotsacatz majority of my cats disliked it - expensive mistake
What Wysong doesn't mention is that with ground bone in the product, it should not be given to cats with kidney, Urinary or constipation issues. I found this out through another site, after I ordered the stuff. This eliminated feeding it to three of my cats. Of the rest of them, only one readily ate it, reconstituted. I'm told I can feed it dry, but I think that's asking for creating trouble (urinary or constipation issues), also not something Wysong mentions on the label.
I have no problem with Chewy's, but I think Wysong should list all the pros and cons, especially for a product that is this expensive. I'm disappointed in them, because they claim to be so concerned about animals, yet have neglected to properly inform owners about the drawbacks of this particular item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PattiM Great for picky eaters!
Our Boston Terriers eat more like cats...grazing (IF they like it) and sometimes going a day or two w/o eating. We feed costly, premium food and it gets frustrating to throw it away on the days they refuse to eat. In desperation I tried these as a food topper...... B-I-N-G-O!! It's great stuff, the dogs love it, and though I could never afford to feed it exclusively, sprinkling a small amount on their food entices them to eat the burger at the very least, and usually stimulates their appetites enough to at least TRY the food it's on top of. It usually results in the food going into their stomachs rather than the trash, which is awesome.
Their premix is great as well (with your own meat added). Good quality food for healthy, happy dogs :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by ChessieSail Got my 14 1/2 eating again
Our 14 1/2 year old seemed to suddenly loose interest in dog food (not human food at all). After cooking for a few weeks we decided to try adding Archetype burgers to his dry food (blend of Dr. Tim's and TOTW). We started adding 1/4 to 1/3 burger to each meal and he is eating ravenously again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Craiggie78 Finally a good dog food
I have a very picky westie who has gone through countless dog foods he will not eat (thank goodness we can take the food to the animal shelter). Finally I saw these burgers, hydrated a small portion, placed on canned food, rolled different pieces into meatball like balls. He eats them!! I am thankful he is still eating them and he looks better (his skin and fur) and not chewing his legs like before. I hope Chewy keeps this product in stock. I am on auto/ship to make sure. The food might be expensive but if Airlie eats the portions, we are in business.
