  • Best Decision I Made

    By on

After a crazy amount of time trying to learn all that there is to know about dry dog food and trying to figure out what the best dry dog food there is, I stumbled across this brand that I never heard of before, Wysong. I was surprised at how much protein and how little carbohydrates this kibble packed. I was reluctant at first in giving this chance, because I heard mixed things about high protein diets for senior dogs. However, switching to this dog food was probably one of the best decisions I made for my pooch. It is hard not to notice the sheer size of this kibble. What I mean is, this kibble is super duper tiny, but my teacup chihuahua had no fuss in gulping this kibble down. What I mean is, this kibble is super duper tiny, but my teacup chihuahua had no fuss in gulping this kibble down. She goes nuts for it. I'm currently trying to finish off another bag of kibble, so I have been mixing this with her old dog food. However, she will eat this new kibble first, walk away, and return later to finish her old kibble. I haven't noticed any bad gas or diarrhea since I've been making the switch over to Wysong Epigen 90. I was worried at first because of some of the reviews that I have read on here, but I want to state that over the course of a month, I have not noticed any problem since making the switch. I don't think this dog food is expensive. I think it is relatively comparable to most priced brands of dog food and well worth the price … more

  • Good but to small

    By on

I received this product today and i was disappointed to see that it is so small, I know its 5Ibs but this is not enough to feed my pet . If chewy was to cover the bigger bags than I'd buy again but now I'm not, I'll order off another website.

  • High protien and no grain

    By on

Our husky mix and shiba mix both love this stuff. It's hard to find stuff with high protien with quality ingredients. The price is a bit ouch but 5 pounds will feed two dogs for 3 days.

  • Great choice.

    By on Top 500 Contributor

This food is a great choice if you want to feed dry and don't want the grains or carbohydrates. I alternate this with another top brand here on Chewy and my cats are very happy with this as their dry alternative. I also feed my cats raw but want to keep a food that others can easily feed if I am not around to care for them. Great ingredients and highly palatable.

  • Our Cats Love It!

    By on

All of our cats consider Epigen a favorite; we can tell by their excitement every time we put Epigen in their food bowls. We have one cat who is particularly finicky, and Epigen is the only dry food she will eat. Highest quality ingredients, and cats love it!

  • has product changed again?

    By on

My 3 cats loved this food for years. After opening a new bag best by date 05/10/17 one cat (with a poor immune system)got very sick. The other two did not finish food and seemed a little off. Tried a different bag 08/16/17. the 2 cats picked at it, but did not finish it. I don't know if there is something wrong with the bag or batch or if they changed the formula AGAIN. I will be changing foods.

  • Best Dry Kibble

    By on Top 250 Contributor

So far so good, this is the best kibble you can buy. NO STARCH, over 60% protein. I will make this a permanent part of my dogs diets. And cats too! It is so neat, this food is good enough for both! Keep it up Wysong!

  • I would feed my cat EVO

    By on Top 250 Contributor

This is a very high protein diet and they do not follow AFCO (they say so on their website). I briefly fed it to my diabetic cat who was not eating his normal food (EVO). I would be cautious and consult my vet before feeding this to my pet.

  • Causes diarrhea

    By on

I purchased this to help with our diabetic cat's glucose levels since it was starch free. Although all of our cats love it, they all developed runny diarrhea even after I had mixed it with their regular food for weeks. That is not acceptable especially with long haired cats. They will not be fed this food again.

  • My cat is better

    By on

My cat has had only one hairball in two weeks when before she had them every 3-4 days. She also had continually watering eyes (allergy to starches?) that have completely dried up. I am thankful and amazed. I just ordered two additional bags because they both love the taste:)!
