About Zignature Dog Food

Learning From Nature

Learning From Nature

Zignature took all of nature's best ingredients and added key nutrients to create a dog food with complete nutrition. In these Physiologically Tuned formulas, meat always comes first, and they've eliminated common allergy-inducing proteins and fillers that are hard to digest. These grain- and gluten-free recipes feature premium proteins, low glycemic carb sources and a limited number of ingredients. It's exactly what your pup should be eating—nothing more, and nothing less.

Meat-First Philosophy

The first ingredient in any list is the most important, because it tells you what the majority of the food is made of. Some commercial pet foods take the easy way out with high-starch carbs near the top of the list. In each of Zignature's dry foods, meat not only comes first, but also second. A quality animal protein source starts off the recipe, followed by a meat or fish meal for an extra helping of the amino acids your pet needs and the flavor he craves.

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

All of Zignature's formulas are free of the most common canine allergen—chicken. And that includes chicken eggs, meal and by-products. As hypoallergenic foods, both wet and dry formulas also avoid the usual sources of stomach upset, including gluten, grains, corn, wheat, soy and dairy. Zignature never uses binding agents that are full of simple carbs and starches; instead, these recipes have low glycemic legumes that deliver extra protein and fiber.

Simple Is Best

Zignature isn't just the diet nature intended—it's even better. They've improved on nature's recipe to give your pup the right amount of each nutrient, and they've done it with the fewest possible ingredients. Just like meals in the wild, these recipes are limited in content for easy digestion and less chance of food sensitivities. These limited ingredient diets have single protein sources, so they're easy to rotate to give your dog a taste of something new.

Simple Is Best
Only the Best Ingredients

Only the Best Ingredients

To create these nourishing dishes, Zignature gathered the best possible ingredients from trusted sources around the world. Trout, salmon and whitefish all come from the Pacific waters of the Northwest; turkey is raised in the Midwest; duck comes from farms in Western France; kangaroo is brought over from Australia; and venison and lamb are delivered from New Zealand farmlands. Healthy fruits and veggies are harvested from several North American farms based on the season.

Ingredients

Zignature makes nutritious formulas with no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors.

CHICKPEAS: Low-glycemic legumes that promote stable blood sugar and provide an excellent source of dietary fiber, extra protein and copper.

FLAXSEED: Derived from whole, ground seeds of the Flax plant for an outstanding offering of omega-3 fatty acids for coat health, plus soluble fiber for digestion.

ALFALFA MEAL: A natural grass that's rich in vitamins A and C, niacin and calcium, and it also makes a great source of protein and fiber.

SUNFLOWER OIL: Pressed from sunflower oil, it supplies the omega-6 essential fatty acids that your pet needs to maintain skin and coat health.

My St Bernard is 5 years old and has always been a very picky eater. Even as a puppy I would have to add something to his dry food. He was on Orijen and suddenly just refused to eat! We bought another high end dog food, same thing. I stopped giving him anything to eat until he ate his dog food. He starved himself for 4 days!! Frustrated, I went to a pet store and got several samples of various dog foods. Tried two of them and he smelled them and walked away. Gave him a sample of Zignature Venison and he smelled it, took a very small bite and spit it out. He thought about it for a few seconds and proceeded to eat the whole bowl!! Eureka! I can without a doubt endorse this dog food with highest honors!! By the way, he smelt the kangaroo and turned his nose. I turned to walk away from him and he slowly ate for a few bites and then gulped it down. Love this food!! … more

  • So far, so good!

    By on

I don't really like giving reviews at this stage of the game, I've not used all of the bag yet. But so far so good. I switched from Castor& Pollux Natural Ultra Mix because my German Shepherds were scratching themselves a lot after about four bags. May not have anything to do with the dog food but I became concerned & switched. I chose Zignature limited formula because the first two ingredients are lamb & lamb meal and it contains less starch than most. My dogs are itching less and doing well.

  • Dogs love it

I have 2 Boston Terriers who require grain free food due to skin allergies. We switched to Zignature after Orijin's formula change. Dogs do great on it and they absolutely love it! No itching or red paws and bellies on this stuff and big bonus, it's affordable! We have tried lamb and turkey with good results. The pork formula did bring back some skin issues so we will just stuck to the other 2 flavors. Highly recommend.

  • Quality/good taste

My senior Aussie has never been crazy about kibble. He'd leave it in the bowl until he had to eat it. I now feed him Zignature and he eats twice a day immediately upon putting it in his bowl. I actually feed him less overall and he is satisfied and doesn't act hungry. He has lost and is now at a healthy weight and more active. I am very pleased.

  • Excellent!

I love Zignature and most importantly, so does my Joey. My three year old golden retriever. Ever since he turned 1 he went from Fromm's baby kibbles to Zignature. My sister has been giving this food to her three dogs for years and it was only natural that I would start giving it to Joey as well as they all do amazing on it. One of her dogs, Dakota, a red Merle Australian Shepherd with Addison's disease and a BUNCH of different food allergies loves Zignature and never had any problems with it. Joey loves how many different formulas they have, so each time there is something different for him to enjoy and that way he doesn't get bored of the same formula each time. Or if you just want a large variety of flavors. … more

  • Great product/Great service

    By on

I just changed my 3 rescues to Zignature (Great Dane with IBS, Mastiff with allergies, & Boxer-Retriever mix) and my local store was having trouble keeping up with our needs. The Dane can't be changing foods just because the store is out, so I tried Chewy.com. Web-site was easy to navigate and VERY user friendly. So easy I signed up for monthly delivery-1st shipment came on 3rd day after ordering-I would definetly recommend to others!

  • Great Kibble!

    By on

My 3 large dogs all love this kibble. With other kibble, they pick out the home-cooked topping before eating any of the kibble and only eat until full, leaving quite a bit to toss. With the Zignature Lamb, for the first time ever, they come running when I open the package of Zignature to serve breakfast or dinner as if they can hardly wait, and eat the kibble along with the topping, leaving nothing in their bowls. Evidently, they smell it when I open the bag and are not bashful in letting me know they want some. Opening other brands of kibble still gets no response from my guys, a 153# American bulldog, a 138# bullmastiff and an 80# rescue mix. I recently ordered four different brands of high-quality My 3 large dogs all love this kibble. • Great dog food, but expensive

    By on

This dog food changed our lives, only wish it was cheaper. Our dog has had eating issues since she was a puppy, is not food driven at all...won't even eat salami! This is the first food she will eat without coaxing and loves it. She actually acts like a real dog now! Also, itching and licking has slowed considerably. Like other reviews have stated, she has also started drinking a lot more water than before (which I think is a good thing). This food has made a real difference. We only buy duck or lamb as any kind of fish makes her throw up.

We have had the privilege of living with many dogs over our 44 years of marriage and all remain in our photos, memories and hearts. One thing my husband and I have learned is that high quality dog food is just as important for your dog’s quality of life as it is for humans.

  • Like the food disappointed in

    By on

Hi, my dog likes the zignature and it seems to be a good balance to the gastrointestinal by Royal Canin (this brand doesn't have enough nutrients, IMHO). I am very happy with your shipping speed and service. HOWEVER, I am disappointed that you were out of stock on the gastrointestinal treats!!! Now I'm going to have to pay for shipping when they come in because I've already processed my order,
