About Zignature Dog Food

Learning From Nature

Learning From Nature

Zignature took all of nature's best ingredients and added key nutrients to create a dog food with complete nutrition. In these Physiologically Tuned formulas, meat always comes first, and they've eliminated common allergy-inducing proteins and fillers that are hard to digest. These grain- and gluten-free recipes feature premium proteins, low glycemic carb sources and a limited number of ingredients. It's exactly what your pup should be eating—nothing more, and nothing less.

Meat-First Philosophy

The first ingredient in any list is the most important, because it tells you what the majority of the food is made of. Some commercial pet foods take the easy way out with high-starch carbs near the top of the list. In each of Zignature's dry foods, meat not only comes first, but also second. A quality animal protein source starts off the recipe, followed by a meat or fish meal for an extra helping of the amino acids your pet needs and the flavor he craves.

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

All of Zignature's formulas are free of the most common canine allergen—chicken. And that includes chicken eggs, meal and by-products. As hypoallergenic foods, both wet and dry formulas also avoid the usual sources of stomach upset, including gluten, grains, corn, wheat, soy and dairy. Zignature never uses binding agents that are full of simple carbs and starches; instead, these recipes have low glycemic legumes that deliver extra protein and fiber.

Simple Is Best

Zignature isn't just the diet nature intended—it's even better. They've improved on nature's recipe to give your pup the right amount of each nutrient, and they've done it with the fewest possible ingredients. Just like meals in the wild, these recipes are limited in content for easy digestion and less chance of food sensitivities. These limited ingredient diets have single protein sources, so they're easy to rotate to give your dog a taste of something new.

Simple Is Best
Only the Best Ingredients

Only the Best Ingredients

To create these nourishing dishes, Zignature gathered the best possible ingredients from trusted sources around the world. Trout, salmon and whitefish all come from the Pacific waters of the Northwest; turkey is raised in the Midwest; duck comes from farms in Western France; kangaroo is brought over from Australia; and venison and lamb are delivered from New Zealand farmlands. Healthy fruits and veggies are harvested from several North American farms based on the season.

Ingredients

Zignature makes nutritious formulas with no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors.

CHICKPEAS: Low-glycemic legumes that promote stable blood sugar and provide an excellent source of dietary fiber, extra protein and copper.

FLAXSEED: Derived from whole, ground seeds of the Flax plant for an outstanding offering of omega-3 fatty acids for coat health, plus soluble fiber for digestion.

ALFALFA MEAL: A natural grass that's rich in vitamins A and C, niacin and calcium, and it also makes a great source of protein and fiber.

SUNFLOWER OIL: Pressed from sunflower oil, it supplies the omega-6 essential fatty acids that your pet needs to maintain skin and coat health.

  • Dramatic Changes to Rescue Dog's Coat

    By on

We adopted a 10+ year-old min pin from a shelter about three months ago. He had some bad gastro issues from the high-quality food we feed our other dogs and was on a prescription gastro food to ease some of his problems. I suspected that he had a food sensitivity (I've been through this before with another rescue) and found the Zignature Trout & Salmon meal. I slowly switched to Zignature. His tummy is fine now, with normal stools and minimal gas. But the best part, and I've been waiting to see if this would happen: His coat is completely new. When we first got him, his coat was dirty, flaky, dry and very coarse, and he was very thin. He has been itchy and shedding for a few days, so yesterday I washed him and gently furminated him. I got a HUGE amount of old hair for a shorthaired dog, and his new coat is absolutely amazing. It's soft, shiny and brand new. Now he's like the other dogs--pampered and smooth and shiny. He's filled out to a good weight. It took about two months to see results in this old guy, but I really credit his improvement to the Zignature food. … more

  • Highly recommend Zignature

    By on

Our three bulldogs love the Zignature Salmon and Trout grain free food. After a three week, gradual mixing in with their previous food; they are only eating the Zignature. Immediately with 2-3 days, the amount of fur shedding decreased more than just significantly. It has been an amazing transformation in the shedding, tear stains, leaving their fur silkier and softer.

  • Best food I've tried!

    By on

I have two Boxers with sensitive digestion and major food allergies. They can only eat grain-free food, and were doing well previously on another high-end brand. However, the recipe must have changed because I began to notice problems in both my girls with diarrhea, scratching and constant skin breakouts. I did some research and discovered Zignature. Within a week of feeding this, the skin issues cleared up altogether, stools normalized and are much fewer (a good sign that they're getting more nutrition). Plus, they absolutely LOVE it! So glad for Chewy, thank you!

  • Great food

    By on

I've tried all kinds of foods for my very picky shepherd. This is the first food that she seems to absolutely LOVE, she even licks the bowl after she's done. Prior to using this food her nose was beginning to get dry and cracked on the sides. Now her coat is fluffier and softer, and the cracks on her nose are completely gone. I supplement this with Stella and chewys raw food in the mornings (I vary the kind of raw she gets to keep her interested) and I add a bit of fish oil at night. She does great on this food!

  • Great deal!

    By on

Both of my dogs have skin allergies and I have been buying them Zignature brand salmon and trout food since we got them and I always bought their food at a little pet boutique close to home, but since I discovered Chewy, I am saving quite a bit and no more lugging the food from the store to my car. Love Chewy!

  • Perfect for my dogs sensitive digestive system

    By on

The first thing I love about this kibble is it smells amazing... Just like human grade quality foods. Yummy. My dog loves this food. So much that I can use for treats & training rewards. My GSD has a sensitive digestive system. His lineage is prone to pancreatitis as well....so the vet recommended only food made w/fish. My dog has perfectly formed stools & never diarrhea episodes w/this food. I've tried dozens of other grain free limited ingredient foods & still had loose stool issues. In my opinion this is the best for for sensitive tummies, value, consistency & palatability.

  • Where has Zignature Been All My Life!

    By on

Since switching my sensitive, allergy, yeast driven apbt/box mix to Zignature, our vet bills have been less, less itching, and manageable pseudomonas in her ears. I have my amstaff/ambull on it as well and it is simply awesome!

  • Pickey Morkie

    By on

The food appears very nutritional and just the Right thing for all his allergies but my little Morkie (half Maltese, half Yorkie)was not as excited as I had hoped...and now I have 27#'s of kibble. I know he will continue eating the dry food as long as I keep giving wet food with it.

  • Switched for allergy reasons

    By on

Switched from zignature lamb to this formula. Had been told it was much better for my bulldogs allergies. She won't touch it. Now I'm out the cost as well as the food.
