My lab was having severe GI issues for several weeks. I took the vet's advice and was giving him just chicken and rice for about 2 weeks, but that only seemed to make it worse. We decided to rule out a chicken allergy and placed him on Wellness limited ingredient salmon food, which immediately seemed to help. However, he was still a bit soft and unformed. We put him on the Zignature salmon/trout formula and he's never been better. His poop is formed and hard and easy to clean up. He's not straining and hasn't had any diarrhea since. I highly recommend this food for any dog with allergies.

I'm so happy pet food makers are paying attention to what customers want - a food that is grain free, no white potatoes, and no chicken products is exactly what I was looking for and my dogs really like Zignature this food even smells good (for kibble) and my dogs are taking small, solid, dark poops I've only tried this flavor but will be rotating through all of them

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lisa4labz Within 2 weeks scratching stopped
I can tell how much my female labrador scratches by the amount of hair on my living room floor, her go-to when she has to scratch because it's the only room with carpeting. She was abruptly popping up in the middle of the night to go scratch and pounded so hard she'd wake the whole house up! She's been on Apoquel, which gave her some relief but it's still a drug, and several other things that were suggested but didn't work. I also tried several grain-free foods but this one was/is the winner so far. Within 2 weeks she totally stopped her outbursts of scratching and she is barely shedding. I started with the Trout/Salmon and now I'm going to try the duck because it's lower in sodium and protein, and even though she's 6 I don't want her on such a high sodium/protein food. As far as taste goes, being an English Labrador, she loves anything so that's not an issue.
As far as the reviewer that gave low reviews, this isn't puppy food, puppies should be on puppy food!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Austindoodle Switched from FROMM
Our 60lb + Goldendoodle puppy had soft stool and itching problems, so we decided to switch from FROMM large breed puppy to Zignature Trout & Salmon because someone at our local pet shop recommended we changed his diet. Though a Goldendoodle, he itches so much that he sheds. Trout & Salmon I saw would increase his omega and help with the shedding. After the transition, he continued to itch and shed and his poops were MUCH larger and darker (the kibble is dark in color). However they were more solid which is a big plus for clean up. The reason this does not have 5 stars is because he is going potty now 3-5 times a day, and they're VERY LARGE. I fed him based on the bag and what we previously fed him. 2 cups twice a day is too much for him (even being very large and active). We've cut down to 2-3 cups total daily. Hopefully he goes less often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sham Great for a dog who is allergic to everything
Dog who needs it loves it. Since he finishes my other dogs food sometimes, I feed it to her also. She isn't that fond of it, but if I put a bit of bread or milk, she will gobble it right up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tonka123 Happy Rottie! Good for dog with IBD
My 3 year old Rottweiler cannot wait for meal time! She has always been enthusiastic about food, but she really gets animated when I open up the bag now!
I have struggled with finding her the right food. Within the past year she was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease and I started feeding her high end limited ingredient, grain free dog foods. I noticed her outbreaks of digestive upsets lessened but they never truly went away. I started doing more research on different foods and found Zignature. No potatoes! Maybe the potatoes weren't ideal for her in previous foods.
She has been eating Zignature for 3 weeks now and she has not had any digestive upsets, she put on a little weight, and her skin and coat improved very quickly!
The price is moderately better than similar brands such as Blue and Wellness and you get a little more in the bag.
Only negatives are that the kibble is a bit small for her, and her breath smells fishy all the time. But that's ok with me if it means a happy, and healthy pup.
