About Zignature Dog Food

Learning From Nature

Learning From Nature

Zignature took all of nature's best ingredients and added key nutrients to create a dog food with complete nutrition. In these Physiologically Tuned formulas, meat always comes first, and they've eliminated common allergy-inducing proteins and fillers that are hard to digest. These grain- and gluten-free recipes feature premium proteins, low glycemic carb sources and a limited number of ingredients. It's exactly what your pup should be eating—nothing more, and nothing less.

Meat-First Philosophy

The first ingredient in any list is the most important, because it tells you what the majority of the food is made of. Some commercial pet foods take the easy way out with high-starch carbs near the top of the list. In each of Zignature's dry foods, meat not only comes first, but also second. A quality animal protein source starts off the recipe, followed by a meat or fish meal for an extra helping of the amino acids your pet needs and the flavor he craves.

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

All of Zignature's formulas are free of the most common canine allergen—chicken. And that includes chicken eggs, meal and by-products. As hypoallergenic foods, both wet and dry formulas also avoid the usual sources of stomach upset, including gluten, grains, corn, wheat, soy and dairy. Zignature never uses binding agents that are full of simple carbs and starches; instead, these recipes have low glycemic legumes that deliver extra protein and fiber.

Simple Is Best

Zignature isn't just the diet nature intended—it's even better. They've improved on nature's recipe to give your pup the right amount of each nutrient, and they've done it with the fewest possible ingredients. Just like meals in the wild, these recipes are limited in content for easy digestion and less chance of food sensitivities. These limited ingredient diets have single protein sources, so they're easy to rotate to give your dog a taste of something new.

Only the Best Ingredients

Only the Best Ingredients

To create these nourishing dishes, Zignature gathered the best possible ingredients from trusted sources around the world. Trout, salmon and whitefish all come from the Pacific waters of the Northwest; turkey is raised in the Midwest; duck comes from farms in Western France; kangaroo is brought over from Australia; and venison and lamb are delivered from New Zealand farmlands. Healthy fruits and veggies are harvested from several North American farms based on the season.

Ingredients

Zignature makes nutritious formulas with no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors.

CHICKPEAS: Low-glycemic legumes that promote stable blood sugar and provide an excellent source of dietary fiber, extra protein and copper.

FLAXSEED: Derived from whole, ground seeds of the Flax plant for an outstanding offering of omega-3 fatty acids for coat health, plus soluble fiber for digestion.

ALFALFA MEAL: A natural grass that's rich in vitamins A and C, niacin and calcium, and it also makes a great source of protein and fiber.

SUNFLOWER OIL: Pressed from sunflower oil, it supplies the omega-6 essential fatty acids that your pet needs to maintain skin and coat health.

  • Lots of poop but at least firm

    By on

My dog has a lot of food sensitivities that lead to runny poop. He can't even handle apples. What kind of dog can't eat apples? So I've been on the hunt for the right food for him since he was a puppy. This one seems to keep his poop a consistent firm texture. The only other food that comes close the the nutro limited ingredient salmon but he gets bored with flavors very easily so had to switch. I think I'll keep this in rotation and try the other zignature flavors too. I like that for about the same price as other brands of similar quality, I don't have to feed as much. The only con I found was that he does have more weighty poop and poops 2-3 times per walk now as opposed to his previous My dog has a lot of food sensitivities that lead to runny poop. • Transition to a new Food

Our Shar-Pei has skin issues. She has been on grain free Salmon. I have read on several Pei forums that Zignature food was good for Pei with allergies. So we are giving it a try. Only been feeding for 2 weeks so time will tell. So far so good. More expensive than her other food but you also feed less.

  • Great for sensitive tummies

    By on

I have two very sensitive English bulldogs. They have been eating Zignature Turkey for about 3 months now and are doing better than ever before. No skin allergies, no vomiting and even less farting (believe it or not)! I highly recommend this food for sensitive doggies!

  • Pleased with results

    By on

One of my dogs had loose stools. My breeder told me about Zignature. It had corrected this situation for one of her dogs. Both of my Bernese like the food, their coats look and feel great, and the yard is finally easy to clean up.

  • Will buy occasionally

I like this company and my girl loves the food. I just didn't realize the calories were so high. We rotate foods so will need to make sure she gets extra exercise when she's on thisone. Overall an excellent food.

  • Great food & poodles love it!!

    By on

We had been feeding our standard poodles Taste of the Wild but once we introduced Zignature Turkey they wouldn't touch the TOW. It smells better that most even high end dry dog foods. Glad we made the switc and so are Samson & Drama. Chewy has outstanding customer service and products.

  • Simple. Grain Free. Good.

    By on

Compared to other formulas, Zignature Turkey relies on fewer ingredients and avoids needless carb fillers like potatoes, corn products, and soy. It's much easier for our dog to digest. She's got a lot of energy and seems happy with it. Looking forward to an easy rotation with other Zignature choices.

  • Doodle eats this 1!!

    By on

First off, Chewy.com is better than Jimmy Johns when it comes to freakishly fast delivery!! Thanks Chewy. My very picky golden doodle eats this food, though I usually have to add something to it for a bit more flavor like Salmon oil or dog food "seasoning". I also like that the flavors are interchangeable.

Kody loves his new turkey food and can't wait to eat. Chewy is so convenient, select your item, place it in your cart and the next day it is at your door. So easy!

  • My dog loves it!

    By on

My border collie mix doesn't have allergies or a sensitive stomach, but he turns his nose up at a lot of food. I was looking for a high-quality kibble, and I chose this one because it's more affordable than some of the other premium brands. He ate it right away! For months, he was letting food sit in his bowl. It was taking forever to get through a bag, and I was supplementing with some healthy, cooked food. This is still new, but it looks like I'll be sticking with this brand right now. I'm so happy! I love Chewy!
