Best to operate under the temperature of 104 F. Operation in high heat decreases the performance of the battery.
Keep the remote away from water. Do not drop or hit with excessive force. Clean the contact points with alcohol weekly. Note: before cleaning, turn off the bark control collar and discharge static electricity from contacts. Rubbing the contact points on a rough surface (such as wood) can safely release the static.
When not in use, turn power off and store in a cool dry place.
I bought two of these gems...for my 4yo Goldendoodle (55lb) and our (slow-to-learn) 10 yo labradoodle (75lb).
We moved several months ago, and despite living in a loving home, they’ve been incredibly jumpy...Barking at visitors, delivery persons, and also people simply walking down the street. When we’re at home (and not asleep), they have their bark collars set to vibrate. We don’t want to completely extinguish their barks, but something had to be done! SUCCESS!

does not work
this item appears to be working; I can do the "test" by blowing into the microphone, but it does not work when my dog barks, no matter what the sensitivity setting. It will, however, go off when her tags rattle on a walk.

Watch out.
Got this collar for a 12 pound Deerhead Chihuahua and it's a bit much for him. The static shock sent him into screaming fits which set it off more. It was a harrowing experience. I may work up the nerve to try it again.
