- Lipacid helps restore the skin barrier by moisturizing and leaving a lipo-protidic file deposited on the skin. This also helps regulate associated seborrhea and inflammation.
- Phytosphingosine – salicyloyl is a modified pro-ceramide which possesses anti-inflammatory and anti-seborrheic properties, helping eliminate pruritus and itching.
- Deposits long-lasting film resists rinsing and protect from irritations and loss of moisture.
- Treating itchy skin is very important as it can affect your pet's quality of life. Prolonged itching can lead to injury, infection or even scarring, so it's best to treat appropriately.
HAZARDS TO HUMANS AND ANIMALS: Do not swallow. Avoid contact with the eyes. If undue skin irritation develops or increases, discontinue use and contact a veterinarian. Keep out of reach of children. To facilitate the use of the product, bottles can be stored upside down.

Yeasty Boys Approved
By OhThatGigi on Feb 26, 2021
We have three dogs with skin problems, but the two boys get persistent yeast infections during the summer due to environmental allergies. This shampoo has been amazing and was highly recommended by our vet. It leaves their coats soft, shiny , and smelling great all while taking care of their pesky yeast problems. I have also used it on our girl when she had a minor staph infection...this shampoo took care of it after two treatments! The lather is incredibly rich and a little bit goes a long way, so it’s worth the bigger price tag. We’ve tried less expensive varieties of chlorhexidine shampoo but always come back to Duoxo.

I think it’s helping
By Scoutsmom on Jan 26, 2021
I’ve been trying to get relief for my dog’s itchy skin issues for the past 6 months. I never thought to try chlorhexidine products until about 2 months ago. I started with wipes after her walks and then decided to try this shampoo. We’ve done 4 washes with it now (trying to do 2 baths a week) and she’s starting to show some improvement. I know these things take time. We’re also doing supplements for leaky gut and have cut out grains from her daily homemade meals. Not sure if this product stings when we have it sit on her for ten minutes before rinsing because she trembles and whines but I know she hates baths regardless. Great for allergies - Get this
By Harhar on Feb 4, 2021
If your dog is allergic to everything including grass, get this. If your dogs skin is dryer than the chihuahua dessert, get this. If your dog produces excess yeast, get this. If your dog is hairless but supposed to have a full mane, get this. If your dog scratches his skin so much he turns himself bald and red, get this. If your dog chews his paws raw then hops around like you beat him, get this. It will help. If you read this and agrees to the majority of the list I just wrote out, why are you still reading this? Get this.

The only shampoo that has helped my dog's skin allergies
By Angie on Jan 1, 2021
After trying many shampoos, a vet recommended duoxo and it has been the only one to actually work. Even though changing my dog's food did help, the skin allergies, scratching, and redness did not fully subside. We also tried medication, but that only worked while taking it. This shampoo cleared the rest of the issues up, and best part of all, I don't need a prescription! I use the shampoo on my Yorkie one time per week, and I do leave it on for the recommended time.

Relieved!!!!
By Hailey on Jan 10, 2021
My golden retriever has had terrible allergies for the last 6 months. I have bought everything under the sun trying to clear up his rash spots on his belly and arm pits. This shampoo cleared up his skin issues in the first use. It was recommended to me by a friend and I am so thankful this helped my baby’s skin.

It's helping!
By Spanishmel on Dec 18, 2020
I got this for my itchy dog, we have suspected environmental allergies for a while. He has had some small hot spots and unfortunately he has been licking and biting his weiner a lot for the past month. He is part daschund and a bit of a low-rider so I think grass and plants just drag across his nether regions thus irritatingg his weiner. This shampoo has helped a lot! It's a little inconvenient to use but very worth it.

Took a while but it does work

I think I've bought every shampoo/spray product Chewy and other pet suppliers and my vet sell in hopes each one would work on my elderly Schnauzer with chronic allergic dermatitis. She cannot be on the prescription meds because she has a seizure disorder, so shampoos and sprays were my only option. Each product worked for a few hours, then the incessant itching was back, despite me giving each several weeks to show me any sign of improvement. This Douxo was my last purchase, along with the accompanying antiseptic spray and after bathing her every 3 days and spraying her once a day, per their directions, I started to feel it too was a nonstarter as I saw no difference in her scratching and chewing I think I've bought every shampoo/spray product Chewy and other pet suppliers and my vet sell in hopes each one would work on my elderly Schnauzer with chronic allergic dermatitis. She wasn't chewing on herself. Her skin wasn't inflamed in patches and her fur was starting to grow back where she'd chewed or rubbed it off. She's still occasionally itchy, but this product does work, at least for my problem child, it just takes a lot longer than I'd expected. So if you buy, give it at least 2 weeks, maybe 3 to work. … more

I have a pug who has struggled for YEARS with really bad skin, to the point where he would naw his skin raw, we tried everything prescribed by the vet: apoquel, steroid shots, other medicated shampoos and bathing him religiously every 3 to 4 days(and he would STINK if I went any long than this). But his skin still would only improve (but not heal 100%) during the time he took medication and I prefer not to keep him on meds the rest of his life. So heres what i did that finally gave awesome results: This shampoo twice a week for approx 2 months (that's when I saw his skin improving so I reduced baths to once a week) i followed the directions on the bottle and i gently scrub with the rough side I have a pug who has struggled for YEARS with really bad skin, to the point where he would naw his skin raw, we tried everything prescribed by the vet: apoquel, steroid shots, other medicated shampoos and bathing him religiously every 3 to 4 days(and he would STINK if I went any long than this). I also have him on Zesty Paws aller immune for seniors. His hair has completely grown back in, no more itch, he's even able to go weeks without a bath and I just bath him because he's dirty, not because he's having any skin issues. No apoquel, just this shampoos every couple of weeks with his zesty paws. I believe this product really helped him rebuild that layer of protection that he no longer had on his skin. Give it a shot and be patient, my pug and I are so grateful for this … more

Save money in vet bills
By Moni on Nov 15, 2020
This shampoo has done wonders for many family pets. It started with my boxer getting a staph skin infection resistant to antibiotics. After getting a second prescription of antibiotics, I found this shampoo. At first I bathed him every other day for a week leaving the shampoo for 10 minutes, then transitioned to 2X a week for another week and then just once a week (I found a combination of this recommendation in a research study, but can't recall the author). I have now used it for about six years. I bathe my dog every other week and do not leave it on, just rinse. His skin has remained healthy and fur shiny. Since, I have recommended this shampoo to friends and family pooches experiencing This shampoo has done wonders for many family pets.
