The most commonly reported symptoms have included nausea and diarrhea, which are minor. Some pets may also suffer from loss of appetite, hair loss, lesions, mental confusion, and jaundice. If you observe more severe reactions like facial hives, swelling of the lips or tongue and difficulty breathing, immediately discontinue use and contact your vet, as these may be signs of an allergic reaction.
Talk to your vet about any other drugs the pet is taking before starting this medication.
Do not give Doxycycline to pregnant or nursing pets. Do not give multivitamins, calcium supplements, antacids, or laxatives within 2 hours before or after giving this medication, as these products can reduce the effectiveness of Doxycycline. Doxycycline may make a pet's skin more sensitive to sunlight and sunburn may occur. Throw away any unused medication when it expires or when it is no longer needed. Expired Doxycycline can cause a dangerous syndrome that can result in damage to the kidneys.
This drug is FDA-approved for human use. However, it is common practice for veterinarians to prescribe such drugs for use in dogs and cats.

Chewy service was excellent! I had the medication the next day. The prescription was 1 1/2 100 mg tablets twice daily. The tablets were not scored, and were coated. Very difficult to try to cut them in half. Would have been better with scored tabs, or some 50 mg tabs to get a correct dose.
Came fast and on time and exactly what we wanted I would recommend this store for all who need pet meds
My local pharmacy wanted $150.00. Got them for $15.00 including shipping. You would have to be crazy to go anywhere else! I will always check Chewy first in the future.
My dog is much better thanks to chewy and my vet. I found a tic in my house full and fat. She was lethargic and vomiting. After taking this med twice a day for 2 weeks. All better. Back to her old self.
This medicine has significantly improved my support dogs infection and boosted her immunity
My dog will be on this for a month as part of his pre-heartworm treatment protocol, so I can't really say much about the drug's effectiveness yet. I did a price comparison--Chewy was the most reasonable by far, and they did a great job of shipping. For faster service they accept phone-in prescriptions from your veterinarian, however mine doesn't do that so I needed to mail in the original paper copy. I will most definitely fill prescriptions from Chewy in the future.
We rescued Mossy...Took her to the vet and she has Lyme. She's been on these pills for 4 days now. What a huge difference. She's feeling so much better.
One of my dogs was recently diagnosed with Lyme Disease. My Vet gave me a script for Doxycycline to be filled at the pharmacy. I was shocked when I was told it was going to cost almost $400.! I had half the script filled and was wondering how I would pay for the other half in 2 weeks. I thought of Chewy and decided to see if I could get it there. Wow, was I surprised! Not only could I get the Doxycycline, but it was only going to cost $22. with shipping! Thank you Chewy!
Very fast and as ordered. Chewy will remain as my primary source of pet products.
Having two dogs could be very expensive if comes to prescription medication but Chewy again came to the rescue not only with price but dealing with our vet and delivery time. We are delighted and thankful.
