The most commonly reported symptoms have included nausea and diarrhea, which are minor. Some pets may also suffer from loss of appetite, hair loss, lesions, mental confusion, and jaundice. If you observe more severe reactions like facial hives, swelling of the lips or tongue and difficulty breathing, immediately discontinue use and contact your veterinarian, as these may be signs of an allergic reaction.
Talk to your veterinarian about any other drugs the pet is taking before starting this medication.
Do not give Doxycycline to pregnant or nursing pets. Do not give multivitamins, calcium supplements, antacids, or laxatives within 2 hours before or after giving this medication, as these products can reduce the effectiveness of Doxycycline. Doxycycline may make a pet's skin more sensitive to sunlight and sunburn may occur. Throw away any unused medication when it expires or when it is no longer needed. Expired Doxycycline can cause a dangerous syndrome that can result in damage to the kidneys.

My Vet prescribed this for my cat with Mycoplasma. Since, I am an absolute failure at giving tablets to my cats, I requested a compounded suspension formula. This tasted HORRIBLE and caused my cat to hyper-salivate and it all came out of her mouth…eewh. I’m sure she never swallowed anything. So, after a few attempts with this, I ordered the tablets. After many attempts each time, I can finally get the pill in, then I have to squirt 4 ml’s of water in her mouth to make sure it washes down because it will burn/irritate the esophagus. After a week of diarrhea and vomiting ever day…….I realized this was a common side effect. If your pet can tolerate this, I’m sure it is a good wide spectrum treatment. As for me, I’m going to ask my Vet if anything else would work.
My vet's office wanted three times more than what I got it for from Chewy. Ordered delivered in 2 days no problems. Highly recommend! Fender has not had any side effects and he's almost 3 weeks in.
No side effect were shown, which is why I was vary about getting it online, but packaging was small and compact and all the pills were in the bottle. I give my boy his meds within his favorite food. No problem eating them.
Easy to order and Chewy worked with my vet to make it super easy.
This medicine was cheaper on chewy than any other site.
It is so hard to give this medicine to my kitten who refuses to swallow. At last I have to spend a lot more to get a liquid form.
Ordered Friday, Delivered Sunday! 2 Days after I ordered my dogs ear medication, Chewy.com had vet approval, shipped out, and in my hands!! I can't say enough great things about this company. Tried other pet pharmacy's and they took a week to get meds to me. This is my Go To for everything from now on! You will not be disappointed!! Thanks so much Chewy!!!
