Description

Rich in protein, low in carbohydrates and loaded with fresh regional poultry and fish, Orijen Cat & Kitten Grain-Free Dry Cat Food mirrors the foods Mother Nature intended cats of all breeds and lifestyles to eat. Formulated to match the natural feline diet, Orijen Cat & Kitten food is made with high ratios of free-run chicken and turkey, whole eggs, wild-caught local fish and regional fruits and vegetables. Each morsel is also infused with freeze-dried liver so it's bursting with the natural savory flavors cats love. These trusted ingredients are all sustainably farmed or fished regionally and arrive fresh or raw each day, so they're free of preservatives and loaded with the animal proteins and fats that nourish your cat completely.

Key Benefits

  • With 40% richly nourishing protein, and limited to 20% low-glycemic carbohydrates to nourish cats and kittens according to their evolutionary and biological needs.
  • Free of rendered poultry meals, 1/3 of the meats are from dehydrated chicken and turkey (air-dried at low temperature from fresh meat) for a concentrated source of nourishing protein.
  • Unmatched by any other food, 2/3 of the meats are fresh (refrigerated, without preservatives) or RAW (flash-frozen, without preservatives), including the top 10 meat ingredients.
  • Nutrient-dense WholePrey ratios of fresh meats, organs, and cartilage plus fresh whole fish and fresh whole eggs provide a natural source of virtually every nutrient your cat needs.
  • Infusions of gently freeze-dried liver enhance flavor and palatability naturally, making Orijen deliciously tasty, even for picky eaters.

Note: During packaging, Orijen's air evacuation process draws excess air from the bags prior to sealing. Depending on certain variables, some packages will appear vacuumed and others not. Rest assured the food in each bag will be equally fresh!

  • All Protein As They Would Eat in the Wild

Thrilled Ragdoll kitten and Momma here. She eats less than when I had my Siamese for 20 years on rice and lamb. Think of it, in nature they would hunt and eat animals and insects, not rice, wheat, or corn. She is lean, with a dazzling coat, healthy, blissful, and satiated all day on very little kibble. She went from 3 pounds when I got her (with lots of gas and was fed Purina after mom's milk) at 14 weeks to a lean 8 pounds at 5 months/or 20 weeks. Sleeps like a lamb (all through the night like we do), purrs up a storm, solid stools, no gas, she free feeds but I have measured her intake. She eats 1/3 of what my Siamese ate on lamb, rice and vege kibble. What I like is that the business Thrilled Ragdoll kitten and Momma here. The animals have a stress free life on acres of grass, and the fish are wild caught not farmed. To us this is highly important. We make it a priority to support those who run a family business with a consciousness for the earth and our four legged family members. Overseas and even locally stressed out animals or body parts of animals are not an option for us or our 4 legged family members, or us. The proof is in the "pudding" as they say... our dogs and cat eat less and are in perfect health in all ages of the spectrum. … more

  • It Is The Best

I have used Orijen for 2 cats now and in both cases the improvement in their health was noticeable. First cat could not hold down food until I tried grain free and Orijen won the contest with the 6 Fish formula and she lived another 15 months from when I would have to put her down. My new cat picked Orijen Chicken over a bunch of others I tried and her tail, in 3 weeks, exploded in furriness to three times its diameter from the lousy food she was fed at the shelter plus her overall coat just blossomed. Now, after 2 years, she also has a gorgeous ruff that she had no sign of before. Orijen is not just the best cat food, it is miraculous and try the different flavors before you decide. • Two out of Four Love It!

    By on

I have two bowls out, one with Orijen and one with Blue Buffalo no grain chicken. I was feeding them Blue Buffalo, and they were happy and seemed to be thriving. Our vet said that Blue Buffalo's dog food has had too many recalls lately. This is why we are transitioning to Orijen chicken. Two of the cats like it, and two don't choose to eat it. For us, it has a pretty strong odor that I don't like, but we've gotten used to it. If all 4 begin to like it, we'll phase out Blue Buffalo. If not, we'll continue to offer both.

  • seems to be a hit

Our cats seem to really love this food. It evidently has a strong enough flavor that I can mix drops of yukky tasting medication into the kibbles and they will eat it. I like the ingredients and am happy they like it. We switch off during the day with the Holistic Select canned food and that seems to work well for all five of our cats.

  • My cats love it

    By on

My cats are picky when it comes to their food and will not eat it if they do not like it. The size of the food is small which my cats really like. However the smell is kind of strong, but that's not really a big deal. I'm really happy I found this food brand because they really enjoy it and it has really good quality ingredients.

  • Super Food

    By on

My kitty has been eating this food for the past 4 months and is doing great! I was purchasing it from a local pet store but Chewy had a better price and free delivery so I switched to them. My dog is on the Orijen large puppy formula and he is doing great too! Highly recommend this brand.

  • EXTREMELY satisfied

    By on

There is just simply no better food on the market. This food has the highest meat and protein content of any kibble Ive ever seen, AND my cat loves it. Ever since using orijen, my cat's fur has been soft and shiny and hes been so energetic! He also eats less meaning hes ACTUALLY getting full from his servings. Hes happy, his body is happy, and Im happy

  • Good ingredients, cats like it

    By on

I have a rather fussy cat who is very thin (adopted her two months ago), has some dental issues and needs to put on some weight. She will consistently eat this food a little at a time. The recipe is tailored for cats' dietary needs. It is rather expensive, but worth the price.

  • Helping a sensitive tummy

    By on

We've tried three different cat foods for a small cat with a sensitive tummy. Nothing worked: Science Diet (2 kinds) & prescription Royal Canin. A family relative gave us a bag of Orijen, which they said saved their cat's life. It's been amazing! Ditto hardly ever throws up, and loves it. Very happy, indeed--all of us!

  • Used to be great, now terrible

I bought this cat food for 6 years, back when you can get the bags made from Canada. The Canadian bags are great and my cats loved it. Now they make them in Kentucky and they're terrible. The Kentucky bags made my cats throw up. I gave it a try and fed it to them anyway for a month but they were still throwing up. The ingredients are now from US and aren't as good. I've now switched over to a new brand. Such a shame since I would have kept buying the Canadian Orijen bags forever but they aren't available to people in the US anymore. (Also, Chewy is great because I told them what happened and they refunded me the costs of two 12-pound bags that I bought from them, even though I only returned I bought this cat food for 6 years, back when you can get the bags made from Canada.
