When changing to Taste of the Wild, we recommend making a gradual transition over 7 - 10 days to help avoid possible digestive upset in sensitive pets. Add a small amount of new food to your dog’s previous diet, gradually increasing the new and decreasing the previous diet until the transition is complete.

The Diet Nature Intended
They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.
Energy That Lasts
Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.

Immune System Support
Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.
Maximizing Nutrient Absorption
To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

Perfectly Balanced Omegas
Taste of the Wild gives your pup just the right dose of omega fatty acids in every bite. Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from salmon oil, smoked salmon or ocean fish meal, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.
Ingredients for Better Health
The powerful superfood trio of blueberries, raspberries and tomatoes can be found in every delicious recipe, along with their immune-boosting properties.
TOMATOES and TOMATO POMACE: Help support overall health by providing vitamin C, soluble fiber and rich in concentrated lycopene, a premier antioxidant.
BLUEBERRIES: Antioxidant-rich superfood that's full of flavor and loaded with vitamins C and E, healthy carbs, dietary fiber and manganese.
RASPBERRIES: Delicious berries packed with potassium, manganese, copper, iron and magnesium, and they also provide fiber and antioxidants.

My GSD is a picky eater now she’s 2 1/2 yrs old.
By JWCW on Feb 9, 2019 Top 500 Contributor
My German Shepherd is a very picky eater now that she turned 2 1/2. As a puppy she’d gobble up everything and anything even though I changed her dry dog food every few months in order to find the right one just for her. Taste of the Wild was okay but not a favorite. After checking several reputable vets I was advised to try Victory Hero dry dog food for GSD’s and gift my Taste of the Wild bag to my daughters GSD who eats anything. Good call. They are both very healthy dogs with lovely shiny coats and energy to envy. Chewy sells both brands thank goodness. Love you Chewy guys.

Another winner!
By Speechless on Jan 31, 2019
My dog has severe grain allergies, and we've tried other brands, but my dog hasn't liked them much. He would only eat a little bit every other day sometimes, which was hard because he's a growing boy. I was so thrilled to find this brand that he just loves, and this flavor is one of his favorites. It also seems much healthier for him because his coat is shinier, his eyes are brighter, and he's so much happier and active! I hope Taste of the Wild never changes their recipes for this food! It's so nice to see my dog actually enjoy eating for the first time! And, best of all, he never gets sick anymore.

Great food for an active pup
By MalinoisMom3 on Jan 22, 2019
Before I got my pup, he was being fed a mixture of this and another dog food. Upon getting him, I decided to stick with this as it had more protein than the other and he needed to gain weight. Through working with his vet on amounts and changing his feeding schedule, this food helped him get to a healthy lean weight, and seems to keep up with his growing active self. He is currently 11 months old and doing great on this food! Plus he loves it.

Not good for me
By Bruno on Jan 31, 2019
Although my mastiff liked the taste of this chow, it did not like him. This product increased his stool output to six times each day such that he was not able to make it through the night. He is 1 1/2 yrs old and has been totally house trained since he was 12 weeks old. This made both of us unhappy! The Chewy helpline recommended this product since my pooch is a picky eater but we will have to find something more suitable for him.

My baby has grown up
By Rudy on Jan 15, 2019
My British Cream, Simon, just turned one! I knew I had to change his puppy food to adult food. It was a last minute purchase because who likes to admit their baby is (in dog years) 7 years old. I had my grown-up Taste of the Wild the following day to start transitioning from puppy to adulthood food. So far... Simon is loving it and still continues to grow!!! Thank you Chewy for assisting me with parenthood!

Dogs seem to like this
By Jill on Jan 17, 2019
I have a young dog and an old dog, different breeds and different sizes. We lost a third dog early last year and our other older dog stopped eating, he wouldn't eat the same food that he used to share with the dog that passed. So we have been on a journey to find something he would eat. Purina gave both dogs serious diarrhea, Blue Buffalo was disliked, Instinct Raw was liked, but WAY too expensive. Then we read some reviews that stated this had very good nutritional values and it was more affordable, so we tried this, both dogs seem to like it and it doesn't upset tummies. Will be buying again.

Great Dog Food
By Katie on Jan 22, 2019
I recently switched my dog to this food after months of dealing with a food allergy! I realized it was flaxseed that was added in the dog food that she had never had before, she was itching all over all the time. This food she loves & no itching! After about 3 days on this food she stopped itching. It doesn’t make her breath stink like other foods! This is a keeper & she will be on this for a long time! The vet said it’s a great food for her to be on as well.

Healthy and My Finicky Dog Loved It
By Wendy on Jan 2, 2019
My dog was not eating her food cocsistently. Some days she would nibble a few pieces other days only eat once a day. I did some research and found that Taste of the Wild dog Food was not only healthy for my dog but they claimed to be good for finicky dogs. I emailed the company and they sent me a small sample. I mixed it with Mia’s regular food and she loved it. I bought a 5 lb bag from Chewy just to be sure she would eat it. She is eating regularly now and eats her food right away. Taste of the Wild is a little more expensive than the cheaper dog foods with fillers and byproducts but it is worth it to have a happy, healthy dog.

High protein
By KanesMom on Jan 23, 2019
I bought this food for my German Shepherd because I wanted him to have something with a higher protein level than the IAMS food we were feeding him. He likes it very much and we are pleased with the quality. Great ingredients and high protein are perfect for my highly active dog. The only down side is that I think the size of the kibble is a little too small for a large breed dog.

No complaints, dog love it and so do we
By Doak on Jan 1, 2019
Had him on this brand since my German Shepard, Black Labrador mix was a day pup first on the puppy formula of high prairie and then on the adult. I selected this brand before adopting my dog because of the the ingredients and since black labradors can have sensitive GI tracts. There one problem one time we received a bag that the food looked different and I contact chewy. They sent me a new bag and I didn’t want to donate the other because I don’t know what it truly was or kind or if there was something wrong. After never has happened again.
