I’ve had it for 2 weeks now and it’s been pretty dependable, really convenient as I don’t have to worry about feeding my kitty everyday. There is a mechanical noise as it turns that scares her a little but doesn’t stop her from eating from it. I read reviews about a slightly misaligned feeding bowl where you can see the next one and it did happen to me but it was barely to the side so kitty didn’t realize. Giving 4 stars because I wish it would be able to be plugged into the wall instead of batteries.

So far, the feeder has worked great. We use it for 5 small feedings a day as our cat eats too much at one time and will throw up. At first the cat was freaked out when it changed to the next compartment and he would not go near it, but a little coaxing with some wet food did the trick. He was eating out of it on his own after two days.
May be a little early to accurately rate; some issues need to be worked through

I purchased two of these feeders hoping that I could use them to feed my cats when I had to be away from home. The feeder works okay and was easy to set up. I set them up to work on the normal schedule I have for feeding my cats. After using them a little over a week, neither of my cats are recognizing that when they hear the feeder operate it means that there is food ready for them to eat. I still have to lure them to the feeder. The bowls that hold the food are a little small and my cats don't seem to be able to eat out of them easily. I have hopes that, with continued practice, the cats will eventually go to the feeders when they hear them operate.
Bugs love it and you aren't alerted when the batteries are about to die

I loved this feeder so much because it kept my cat from waking me up to feed her at 5am every morning. When the meal switches, there is a mechanical sound so she had a Pavlovian response to the noise and ran to the feeder every morning like clockwork. I'm also a lazy cat owner and I like just glancing at her food bowl to make sure it has food in it. I just had a calendar event in my phone every 5 days to refill her bowl.
The biggest drawback is the food isn't sealed, so roaches got in here often. I live in a NYC apartment so this was a huge problem as it was the only food out that they could get into. There are a lot of little crevices here too, so unfortunately I am in the market for a newI loved this feeder so much because it kept my cat from waking me up to feed her at 5am every morning. The other thing is it takes batteries, and there is no way to tell when they are going to die. Please don't depend on this to feed your cat if you are going to be away for days. It's not infallible and mine has died twice, so I need to check her food dish every day just to make sure it's turning, I just don't need to do the measurements and get the food bag out every day.
I recommend this product because it was super useful, but there were two major drawbacks that have me looking for another solution!… more

We bought this feeder for our cat when we were going away for a long weekend. We timed it for feeding every morning (our neighbor came to check on him in the evenings and feed him dinner). It worked great! We tried it out for a few days before we left just to make sure it really worked, and it did!!! It's easy to program and worked each time. Our cat was a little leery at first since it does make a sound as it turns but with a little coaxing he was eating from it with no problem each time. I do recommend trying it out to see how your cat does with it before you actually use it to make sure your cat understand what it is. This feeder is a great product and highly recommend it.

This feeder is super easy to set up and so helpful for controlling how much my kitty eats! This was a life saver this past weekend when we had to go out of town for a days and couldn't find anyone to take care of the kitty. This way she was able to maintain her diet/eating schedule even when we weren't around. It's perfect for short day trips or even when we are stuck at the office late! Def recommend this for the on the go person or trying the manage weight/food portions!

Fantastic. Purchased because cat will be alone o we night. Spent two weeks to make sure he adjusted. The sound when turns food compartment caught him off guard, but he adjusted just fine only thing is you have to use dry food. He usually gets freeze dried raw food once a day. But just one day is fine for him
Bought for going on vacation

I feed entirely wet except for Wysong or Open Farm dry as treats. But with having pet sitter not able to feed per their schedule, I decided to buy this feeder. My daughter already had one for her cat and she liked it.
It takes some fine tuning for setting up the tray and the four clock feedings.
I froze some of their wet food and put it in a tray that was to feed six hours later. Unfortunately something went wrong and the food was still there. Bottom line. Buy it well in advance to work out the kinks.
It takes FOUR D batteries. I think you and your cat will get use to it and like it.
trying to get a little less Missy

I bought the 5 meal automatic feeder after seeing it work at my sisters house. My cat Missy- is a little tubby- only a little, but needs to lose a little weight. (Don't we all?) With this feeder, I only give her 2/3 cup of dry food, spread out thru 24 hours. Its a little hard to program, but once done, you fill it once a day and let it go. The best thing is hearing a feeding cycle come around and watching Missy run for the food. I dont know if you can teach an old dog this new trick, but cats love it.
It was good until....

So we bought this on April 11 and today is May 24...My freaking dog, 15lb Jack Russell, who is 9 years old, managed to figure out how to make it spin without having to pop the top off! I'm filling it for the next day for my Lola at night, all good right? NOPE. My dog figured out how to make it spin and eat all of her food. I'm thinking that I'm crazy and maybe I just didn't fill it...I'm mad but highly impressed at my dog. We couldn't figure out why she was gaining weight! LOL Back to the drawing board. It was good while it lasted though
