    Cats like it ok

By InnaH on Jun 16, 2021

My cats got introduced to Dr. Elsey's dry food about three years ago. At the time only chicken and also salmon recipes were available. All three of my cats LOVE chicken recipe. Since chicken recipe has been unavailable for some time on Chewy, I decided to try the rabbit formula. It is always exciting for us, pet owners to see some new additions to the brand we trust. It has been less than a week since they have been trying rabbit recipe. Only 2 out of 3 eat it. They like it ok, but not crazy about it. I'm not really sure why some pieces are larger than the others. My third cat is more petite and occasional large pieces might be an issue for her, so she ignores this food completely. However all three continue liking the chicken formula. It's possible they are just more accustomed to this flavor. As of right now, if I give them the choice of chicken or rabbit, they still prefer chicken. The bowl with chicken recipe is always licked clean, while there is always a good amount of rabbit recipe in the bowl even by the end of the day. I'll be getting duck recipe for them to see if my cats like it more than rabbit. … more

My cats lov Dr Elsey kibble, we rotate between chicken/rabbit and duck! They all have gorgeous soft coats, clear eyes. Dr Elsey is the only kibble we use.

My two cats love this food

    By momoftwocats on Jun 25, 2021 top250Contributor

My boys have been enjoying the Dr Elseys chicken for some time now. Because it is out of stock so often I was pleased to see the new flavors that are now available. I chose the rabbit and am very glad I did. They both love it even more than the chicken. wish it did not cost more but think it is worth it. They eat less, it is very low carb and has wonderful ingredients No digestive problems. Chances are that the majority of cats would agree.

    ooops, legumes

By Anya on Jul 14, 2021

I use the chicken flavor of Dr Elseys and wanted to try something new. I didnt' realize that the rabbit recipe has chickpeas. My animals, dogs and cats both, do not do well on legumes like peas or chickpeas, lentils etc. Read your ingredient labels. I do use these as training treats (they do love it)so they wont go to waste. but I feed the chicken Elseys, for partial meals, only now because it contains no legumes.

    Thank you for Rabbit!

By jxrp on May 21, 2021

If I could only feed my cat canned/raw food, I would, but I have yet to find one she will finish. (Tried Prim*, Tiki, Vital, Koh*, & more) So I am EXTREMELY picky of the dry food I do give her. I have been feeding her Dr. Elsey's Chicken for years because of its stellar use of animal protein and reduced emphasis on veggies. But Chicken or fish isn't my girl's favorite and just when I was looking for a Rabbit kibble and exceedingly unhappy with the offerings... Dr. Elsey's saves the day and comes out with their own! I am beyond elated! I was worried about the pork protein as my girl wasn't keen on pork when I tried to feed it before, but it must not taste like since she dug in! It arrived today If I could only feed my cat canned/raw food, I would, but I have yet to find one she will finish.
