Bad reviews must not be using enough litter
By Ruben on Jan 13, 2021
This is the only litter I use. I’ve been using it for nearly five years and it is consistent every time. It is dust free. Truly, truly dust free! It’s amazing. I’ve tried other “low dust” or “dust free” litters before and I had to constantly sweep up dust and keep asthma attacks at bay while changing the litter. It stops odors. Even if you miss scooping for a couple days, it still has no odor... and I mean NO odor! Our litter box is in the main living area of our house and we never smell it. It’s incredible. It clumps like no other litter I’ve tried—BUT—you MUST keep this litter very deep. We keep it about 4” deep. It clumps the urine fairly instantly but if it’s not deep enough, the urine will be cemented to the bottom of the box. I almost broke a litter scoop trying to scrape it loose. As long as it’s deep enough, there’s no issues. People complaining that the clumps are mushy: they are scooping too soon and not allowing the clump to harden. The litter can’t immediately soak up all liquid and turn into a hard ball in three seconds. Speaking of processes in general, things take time. … more

What happened to Elsey’s?
By Letterblair on Jan 9, 2021
Dr. Elsey’s Ultra, once upon a time, was a great product. Now it’s changed somewhat dramatically. Previously it was low on dust and the pieces of clay were not uncomfortable when they “escaped” and you stepped on them. That’s changed. Now there is much higher dust level and the individual clay pieces are much larger. Clumping is still acceptable, but the larger size pebbles seem to stick in the cats’ paws more easily, making a large scatter on the floor near the litter container. I complained to Elsey’s but haven’t got a response yet. This was a favorite product but got changed and I am not recommending it.

THE ONLY LITTER I USE
By Peggy on Dec 30, 2020
I’ve used this litter for my 5 fur babies for a long time now. Even though it says dust free I can’t say that’s entirely the case but I can live with that because this litter never smells as long as you scoop often. People always tell me that they can’t even tell I have multiple cats when they come into my house! Because I have multiple litter boxes it’s quite a lot of maintenance but with this litter you can actually go for 4 weeks without doing a complete change, scrub, and reload with new litter. Chewy’s price is as good as or better than anywhere else AND they are so quick with processing and shipping - I have been extremely impressed with their service. Can't Smell a Thing!
By newcatowner on Jan 13, 2021
This is the only litter I've ever used (I'm a first time cat owner), but I can't see myself getting any other type. As long as I keep my larger litter box filled up 3-4 inches, there are no problems with this clumping the litter, keeping everything nice and clean. I also don't smell anything. It's been a couple weeks (I put in fresh litter every couple of days, whenever the level goes down a bit), and I can't smell anything once empty. Even when fresh pee is in the box, I can't smell it either!

Good Hard Clumps
By LOBird on Jan 9, 2021
I found this litter to have much lower dust than other brands and it produces hard clumps that are easy to scoop out. The trick for me was to ensure the litter box had 3-4 inches of litter to ensure the clumps don't glue themselves to the bottom of the box and to scoop the litter box daily. I didn't have any issues as long as I followed these rules. I have two cats that share a (top entry) litter box. I also use a fairly thick metal scooper as I think the skinny metal and plastic scoopers would not work as well.

Worst cat litter I have ever used
By Pasorider on Dec 27, 2020
I have nothing good to say about this litter. I recommend anyone looking at buying this to read all of the 1 star reviews. I agree with all of them. I hate to give it even 1 star. One thing not mentioned in the 1 star reviews is the size of the litter chunks. It is much courser then the average clumping clay litter. You wouldn't want to walk on the jagged litter barefoot. The cats are not too happy with it either. You might consider Frisco clumping litter. Comes in many scents and varieties. The scented varieties are not overpowering. I have 2 cats and 5 litter boxes. I like to try new litter to see what they like best. They let me know what I should use to make them happy.

So far so good...
By Kaytee on Jan 5, 2021
Just trying this out...we have 2 kittens on addition to our senior 2. We are tired of the tracking and clinging of the lightweight litter. Our previous litter was reformulated. The new formulation was high dust and all our cats have been diagnosed with FIP, we need dust free. We've been using Tidy Cat but the little "balls" get caught in the kittens toes and all over their bellies...tracked everywhere and they are ingesting it. We do not see any tracking issues so far with Dr.Elseys...the only drawback is the weight.

Kitty likes it!
By lilcyni60 on Jan 9, 2021
I had been using a different clumping litter since my kitten first came home but the clumps were falling apart leaving small bits; this new litter seems to hold together better and also controls odors without a heavy perfume which I think is better for my cat...I thought she may get not like the change however she seems to prefer it as she doesn't spend as much time scratching about.

Ineffective odor control for my cat
By jojo on Dec 26, 2020
My kitty didn't like this litter because it did not mask her odor at all. She tried and tried to "bury" her scent and would return, sniff and try to bury some more before crying and running off shaking her paws etc. She became more agitated and upset with each visit to her litter box. I didn't want to create a situation where she would not use the litter box at all, so we started blending this with a different unscented/clumping litter 1 part to 5 parts just to get it used up. It's funny how some cats like one type of litter and not another. I can't say I don't recommend this, but my cat was extremely dissatisfied with the odor control.

Hands down best litter
By Skylar on Jan 13, 2021
I used to use Arm&Hammer, but due to the pandemic I needed something with a better price. I googled around and came across this litter. I have 2 cats(male&female) and this is hands down the best litter I've ever used. There's no smell at all until you clean the litter box, even after almost a week-zero smell until you clean. This is hands down the best litter with the best price. I can't recommend this litter enough.
